*A/N* Another thanks to the reviewers (big smiles to all) this chapter will be a bit longer to make up for chapter three being short. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it. As always none of the Charmed characters belong to me but William, Cassandra and Brenna do, and I wish Cole did hehehe but, on with the story. This chapter will explain Brenna's character more.
BACK AT P3
"Cole, what…how…" Piper exclaimed trying to get her thoughts together.
"I think what Piper means is how the hell you got here; if I'm not mistaken we vanquished your sorry ass." Paige stated calmly with a bit of annoyance in her voice.
"Well, because I'm half human, I have a soul so I got stuck in the wasteland and…"
"The wasteland?" Phoebe interrupted, still unsure of her feelings.
"It's the place where demons go after they have been vanquished, they disintegrate and leave behind they magic's essence but, because I have a soul, contrary to popular belief…" he said pointedly looking at Paige "…I just lost my powers but was stuck there, kinda like a in between."
"That still doesn't explain how you got out," Piper said
"Well, I figured out that if I could get to the essence's before the beast could, I would be able to get out, and tada here I am."
"And why is that exactly?" Phoebe asked.
"Here I thought it was obvious, I want you back Phoebe, I still love you."
"Cole, I don't…I just…damn it Cole, you were the source and you made me your queen, your evil, you always have been and you always will be." Phoebe said with tears in her eyes.
"I didn't want to become the source and I became it against my will."
"Yep, sure ya did." Paige said
"You keep your nose out of this Paige." Cole yelled angrily
"Cole, just go." Phoebe said defeated, knowing that she did still love him but wasn't sure if they could ever be together again.
"Fine but, I'm not giving up, I still love you Phoebe and I know with all my heart you still love me." and with that Cole faded out of the bar. Phoebe couldn't believe it Cole was back and "wait" she thought to herself "Oh my god, he was at the penthouse last night." the last part was out loud.
"What." Piper asked.
"Last night I went to the penthouse to see if I could get some closure and when I left I thought I had seen a shadow of someone but thought it was impossible, but now I think he was there."
"Why didn't you say anything before?" Paige asked a little harshly.
"Because last night I didn't think he was alive." Phoebe said angrily and got up and left.
"Way to go Paige." Piper said
"What, I didn't mean it accusingly, I'm just upset he's back but, I'm not mad at her." Paige tried to explain but decided to give up.
"Come on, let's get to the manor, and see how she is and to find out how to vanquish him again if need be." Piper said wandering if he wasn't telling the truth about the source possessing him.
MEANWHILE IN MEMPHIS
"Whoa, head rush" Brenna said then noticing she was at her grandmother's house, just then her dad appeared in front of her in blue and white lights with her mom appearing right beside him.
"What the hell, how did I get back here and how did you do that."
"Brenna calm down, we'll tell you everything." William said.
"I will not calm down; I just disappeared and reappeared, so this better be a good explanation."
"You come from a very magical family on both sides…" Cassandra started but was interrupted.
"Magical? Like David Copperfield, you have got to be kidding me."
"Please, just listen."
"Ok, go on."
"We have powers both me and your father but, you have a combination of our powers." Cassandra continued.
"What kind of powers?" Brenna asked, becoming only more confused.
"Well, I have the power to orb and telepathy, I can read peoples feelings and sometimes their thoughts, and your mom can shimmer and throw energy balls." William explained.
"Ok, so what does that make me?"
"Well, we're not sure, that's why we wanted you to stay so when this happen you wouldn't be alone."
"Why now? I mean why didn't it happen when I was younger?"
"Because you are half demon, half whitelighter/witch, we decided to have your grandmother bind your powers so you could have a normal childhood but, when your grandmother died, the spell was broken and you will start developing your powers." Cassandra said.
"Wait…What…I'm half demon, like evil."
"No, not unless you chose to be." Cassandra said lowering her head in shame.
"I can choose?"
"Yes, you can be good or you can be evil and I know deep in my heart your good but, you will have to leave here, at least for awhile." William said, knowing this was the hardest thing he would have to do.
"Leave, where am I supposed to go?" Brenna asked now hurt as well as being confused.
"I have to make arrangements but, you will be going to San Francisco there are people there who can help you control your powers and keep you on the side of good." William answered.
"I thought you said I could choose. I don't want to be evil, so why would they have to help keep me good?"
"Even though you want to be good, there will be people, who are very evil, that will try to tempt you to join there forces and because your half demon you will be more susceptible to those temptations." Cassandra explained.
"I don't know what to say, I don't even want to leave but, if this is what you guys want." Brenna said in tears.
"Oh, honey…" William said holding her "we don't want you to go but, these people can help you better than we can but, we will keep in contact."
"I love you guys."
"We love you too…" Cassandra said joining the family hug "Why don't you go and start packing while your dad makes the arrangements.
"Ok." Brenna said making her way up the stairs.
After they were sure she was in her room Cassandra turned to William and said "We have to tell her everything."
"No, we can't, not yet. We're not even sure how powerful she will become."
"All the more reason to tell her and keep her with us."
"You know why she can't stay here, there's no telling what kind of effect it will have on you, especially if she becomes as powerful as she is suppose to become."
"I know, this isn't fair, this is all my fault." Cassandra said breaking down.
"I don't ever want to hear you say that again, we both knew the consequences but, we took them anyway. Just remember she was born from love and raised with more love than possible, everything will work at fine." William said comforting his wife.
"I must go and talk to the Elders, and make the arrangements, if all goes well, we will leave as soon as I get back."
"Just be careful, you're not their favorite whitelighter right now." Cassandra said
"I know, don't worry, just help Brenna pack and I'll be home as soon as I can." William promised as he kissed Cassandra and orbed up there.
As soon as William got there, he had to chuckle to himself, after twenty-four years it hadn't changed a bit. They had barred him from here after he and Cassandra got married and after they had Brenna, he stayed off their radar so they couldn't find them. They felt it was wrong to love a demon, especially considering his family line but, he couldn't help it he loved her and in his mind that was all that mattered. Of course after that is when his adoptive mother had told him who he really was but, by then it was too late and they were expecting Brenna.
"What are you doing here?" A man in a gold robe said angrily, breaking William out of his thoughts.
"Elder Matthew, I need to speak with you and the other Elders." William said bowing his head in respect.
"You have no right, not after you married that demon and had the heir."
"That is what I must speak with you about, my daughter has come into her powers and I wish for her to be trained by my…I mean the Charmed Ones, so that she will not revert to evil."
By that time the other Elders had come and were standing around him. One of the others said "You want us to risk the lives of the Charmed Ones so that you will have a clear conscience?"
"No, she is not evil but, I fear that without the proper guidance she will give into the temptation of evil."
"I have to agree with William, if she is trained properly, she will be a great asset to our side." Elder Amelia said.
"Amelia, do you not realize the power that girl will wield." Matthew asked in shock.
"Yes, Matthew I do, and I also realize that if she becomes evil that no force good or evil will be able to stop her, that is why I believe we should do whatever it takes to keep her on our side."
With that the others agreed as did Matthew albeit reluctantly. " Fine but, there will be conditions."
"I understand." William said with a bit of apprehension.
"First, she is to have no contact with her mother at all and her mother will not know where she is or who she is with. She will be taught to use all her powers both demonic and whitelighter/witch, because she has a chance of reverting to evil if she suppresses her demonic half. We will allow you to inform her trainer as to what powers she has…"
"Wait her trainer?" William asked
"Let me finish." Matthew said bitterly
"Yes Elder."
"Her trainer will be told her powers. And until we deem that she is prepared enough she will not be with the Charmed Ones, Cole Turner will be responsible for her training and if she comes out of that good then she will be worthy to join the Charmed Ones."
"Cole Turner, isn't he a demon?" William asked in shock
"Yes, but we have deemed him to be a value to us and he has proved himself to us many times, we just don't like the fact of his involvement with a witch."
"What if he refuses?" William asked.
"He won't because if he successfully trains her in the ways of good, we will allow him and his witch to be together." Matthew said with a smile.
"Thank you Elders, we will depart tonight." William said bowing his head.
"Do not thank us yet William." Matthew said as he and the others moved away.
