A/N Wow eight chapters, I'm quite impressed with myself (big smile) but I must thank my reviewers for giving me the motivation to continue. As always I don't own Charmed or any characters, I'm just playing with them for awhile. On with the Show.
Brenna, Piper, Phoebe, Paige, Pru and Leo all orbed to Brenna's old house in Memphis, to tell her mother the bad news. They was no sign of Cassandra anywhere in the house.
"Mom!" Brenna yelled getting no reply.
"I don't sense anyone here, good or evil." Leo told the girls.
"Where are we anyway?" Piper asked taking a look at the window.
"Memphis Tennessee." Brenna said coming back down stairs.
"That explains the accent." Pru said grinning.
"I wonder where mom is." Brenna said, getting slightly worried.
"Maybe she went…" Leo started but Paige interrupted.
"Guys, come here." Paige hollered as everyone went into the kitchen.
"What is it?" Phoebe asked.
"I found a note addressed to Brenna." she replied handing it to Brenna.
As she opened the letter, she knew it couldn't be good. There was no way her mom would have left her a letter unless she knew that Brenna was coming. As she read it tears started to roll down her face.
My Dearest Brenna
I have received word about your father from a white lighter and have went to the underworld to exact my revenge. The Elders was the cause of his death, and if they have their way yours as well so I shall be the cause of the Elders death. Do not worry about me, I will be up soon to get you and we will rule the underworld together.

"No, no, no…" Brenna kept repeating as Pru took the letter out of her hand.
"What does it say?" Piper asked.
"She's gone to take her rightful place as the Source and she is going to kill the Elders and take Brenna to the underworld." Pru said.
"What!, Why the Elders." Leo exclaimed, taking the letter from Pru, then saying "What does she mean, who was the white lighter, I haven't even went up there yet, so we're the only ones who know."
"Just us and whoever sent the dark lighter." Phoebe said.
"Can someone fake an orb?" Brenna finally spoke.
"Not that I know of but, that doesn't mean it's not possible." Leo said.
"Alright, not to sound cold but, we need to call the police to report dad's body and get back to San Francisco, so we can find out what the hell is going on. Cause I'm sorry but one more surprise and I think I'll go evil just for the hell of it."
"That sounds like a plan and by the way, that last part, not funny." Piper said.
"I try." Brenna said giving a brief grin as they started to get everything ready.
MANOR
They all orbed back to the manor and was in the attic trying to find out what was going on and filling Cole in.
"I'm sure the police in Memphis will be in touch, and then we can do a more though search of the house then." Brenna said trying to scry for Cass.
"That's a good idea and we're going to have to work on some spells that may help us find her." Leo said.
"And some vanquishing potions for when we do." Paige commented.
"WHAT!, I don't think so." Brenna yelled.
"Well she is evil ." Paige defended.
"This is Brenna's mother were talking about, who has been good for the last twenty some years." Piper replied angrily.
"She's a demon Piper and you read the letter she is going to become the source and she will come after us."
Brenna was not impressed by Paige's observations and was getting angrier by the moment. And when Paige said finally "We have to vanquish her evil ass." Brenna lost it. She shoved Paige up against the wall and held her there by the throat and said.
"First and foremost she is my mom, and I will do everything in my power to keep her from being evil. But I will not let some power hungry witch, who feels the only good demon is a dead demon, vanquish her just because her only fault is loving her family so much that in her grief she feels this is the only way." Piper and Pru was trying to hide their grins as they went and pulled Brenna off Paige, Brenna added "I don't know what your problem is Paige but I do know you need to open your eyes and realize that the minute you became a witch that the world is not just Black and White anymore, you have a whole new gray area out there that holds things we may never know. I may have only been at this for three months but even I know that." she finished and walked over to the BOS.
"I don't need this shit." Paige said and orbed out.
"I'm thinking that wasn't such a good idea." Leo added as an afterthought.
"Yeah, but it's about time Paige was put in her place." Phoebe couldn't help but grin.
"Listen guys, I'm sorry…" Brenna began fighting back tears "It's just the last twelve hours have been shit and the last thing I want to do is lose my mom."
"It's ok, honey, no one is blaming you, Paige was way out of line." Pru said walking up and hugging her.
"Pru's right, you've been through enough today." Phoebe said as her and Piper joined the hug.
"Thanks you guys and I do realize that I may not be able to save her but I have to try and I swear if I can't I'll stop her before she hurts you guys."
"We'll worry about that when the time comes." Piper said.
"Right and no more of this I stuff, your family and it's we now." Phoebe added.
"You know after all the crappy stuff today I haven't had time to be happy about the good news, and you guys do know that now that you have me, you can't get rid of me." Brenna said finally showing a real smile.
"Don't worry, we'll try." Piper said laughing
"And your going to have a hard time getting rid of us." Pru said joining in the laughter.
Leo and Cole just looked at each other knowing not to get involved in the Halliwell women's moments but Cole couldn't resist.
"Just as long as you don't forget us guys over here."
"And why pray tell would we need guys for." Phoebe said smiling.
Leo and Cole just looked at each other and said in unison " The heavy lifting."
"Good point." Brenna said as they all broke into laughter.
A FEW HOURS LATER
"That was the Memphis police department, they want me there as soon as possible to answer some questions and identify dad's body." Brenna said as she hung up the phone.
"We'll then we had better start packing and while were doing that I'll call the airline and arrange the flight." Piper ordered heading towards the phone Brenna had just been on.
"You guy's don't have to all come, I'll only be there about a week to arrange the funeral and things and to check the house out."
"She has a point," Pru started "we should break into groups and one stays here and the other goes to Memphis."
"Alright, sounds like a plan." Brenna said.
"Phoebe, Paige and Leo, when he gets back, will stay here and work on the spells and see if they can find Cassandra and me, Piper and Cole will go with Brenna, sound good to everyone."
"Yep." everyone agreed.
And with that Pru, Piper, Cole and Brenna went to pack and arrived in Memphis later that night and went through the motions of a sorrowful week as they laid William to rest. As Brenna watched them lower her father's coffin into the ground she vowed to find who had done this and save her mother.
