A/N Sorry for the last chapter being so short, this one though will make up for it. This is going to be a bit more Cole and Phoebe oriented, which I started the story like that but it kinda ran off from me (Big Smile). Also there is a line I stole from LXG the movie, I thought it was funny so I used the line, anyone who has seen the movie know what line I mean it's the one Dorian says after being shot. One more thing in the Underworld scenes Cassandra will be using her demon name Thena but Brenna and them talk about her as Cassandra.
TWO WEEKS AFTER WILLIAM'S FUNERAL
Paige and Brenna were up in the attic combing through the BOS but had yet found a way to help Cassandra.
"Dammit" Brenna yelled as she throw the scrying crystal across the room.
"Why don't you take a break, you've been going non stop for the last two weeks." Paige said walking over to her.
"Sorry, it's just so aggravating."
"I know but we will find her."
"Listen Paige, I never did apologize for what I did, I'm really sorry I let my anger take over reason, you just want to protect your sisters."
"Hey don't worry about it, I thought a lot over what you said and your right, I was out of line and need to give Cass and especially Cole a chance."
"That still doesn't excuse what I did, and why especially Cole?"
"Because, I know Phoebe still loves him, no matter what she says and because of what he has done for you, I believe he would give his life for you if it meant you would never turn evil."
"Oh." Brenna just said, knowing Paige was right about that.
"Then apology accepted, friends again." Paige said as she held her arms out for a hug.
"Friends." Brenna replied hugging Paige just then Piper and Phoebe came in.
"I see you guys made up." Piper said smiling, happy to see them actually being friendly.
"Yeah we had a cousinly talk." Paige said winking at Brenna.
"That's good and were here to do a switch, Paige can you orb me to the market to get some more ingredients and Phoebe will stay and help Brenna."
"Alright, let's get going then." Paige said walking over to Piper.
"See you guys later." Piper said.
"Bye." Brenna and Phoebe said in unison as Piper and Paige orbed out.
After they left Brenna and Phoebe was alone in the attic and Brenna felt that she should touch the subject of Cole and Phoebe.
"Hey Pheebs, can I ask you a personal question?"
"Yeah I guess." Phoebe replied a little confused.
"Well…umm…Ah hell, Do you still love Cole." Brenna stammered out.
"What! Why?" Phoebe asked shocked.
"Do you love…." Brenna began but Phoebe cut her off.
"I heard what you said, but I mean why would you ask that."
"Listen, Phoebe, I know it's none of my business, but, from my position I can tell you two are miserable and it's all because of the other one. Before you cut in let me finish." Brenna stated as Phoebe opened her mouth to protest. "I don't know what exactly happen between you two, just that Cole somehow became the Source and you vanquished him, but I can verify that he has been nothing but good since my dad took me to train with him. I also know that he loves you very much and by the look in your eyes right now I know you do too."
"Brenna, sometimes love just isn't enough." Phoebe said with tears in her eyes.
"Why not?"
"Cole did become the Source and we got married, without me knowing and I got pregnant and I lost the baby, the seer took him because he was evil. And I can't go through all that again. The kicker is that not once did Cole try to tell me what was happening to him."
"Did you ever consider maybe he couldn't, cause from what I gathered, he wasn't a demon when he became the Source he was human. So maybe he didn't have a choice."
"You know what, that actually makes sense cause, he had many chances to destroy the power of three but he never did."
"Maybe you should talk to him about it, have a open and honest talk, about everything from how you felt to why. Oh god now I sound like Dr. Phil." Brenna said smiling.
"No you don't, you sound like a lot of common sense, and I think I'll do that now." Phoebe said smiling herself but just as she said that five demons appeared in the attic.
"Oh, shit, Cole!" Brenna yelled.
"Piper, Paige!" Phoebe yelled at the same time and within seconds they orbed and faded in respectfully.
"We just want the girl." the lead demon said.
"Over my dead body." Cole said as he charged the demon.
"That can be arranged." another demon replied attacking Cole from behind.
Then all hell broke loose, Piper tried blowing them up but it wouldn't work neither did her freezing. Paige orbed out in time to miss being stabbed with an athame and Phoebe was working on a third demon by levitating up and kicking him. Brenna shimmed in behind the two demons who were attacking Piper and Paige and yelled "Hey!" as they turned around she sent a fireball into one and with her other hand she used an electricity bolt on the other one, that got the other ones attention when they heard their comrades get vanquish.
"What are you?" the head demon asked.
"I'm complicated." Brenna said as she threw a fire ball at him and he screamed in pain just as Cole threw an energy ball at the one in front of him and the last on shimmered out.
"What just happen, why couldn't I use my powers on them." Piper asked stunned.
"Dammit, she must have the Underworld in order and she put a protection spell on them from your powers, she must not of thought I would fight." Brenna said heading for the book.
UNDERWORLD
"Where is she?" Thena/Cassandra asked the demon cowering in front of her.
"We could not get her, the others were vanquished in the attempt."
"How, you were protected from their powers."
"Yes, my Liege, but not from your daughters."
"She vanquished them." Thena said angered and pleased at her daughters powers.
"Yes my Liege."
"Then, she will come the easy way or the hard way either or she will come to her rightful place." Thena said as she vanquished the demon before her.
"Now I just have to find someone who can handle the task."
A FEW HOURS LATER
Brenna was in the attic with Piper, Phoebe, Paige and Leo while Cole was in the living room talking with Pru about Brenna and Phoebe.
"Pru can I talk to you about some things?" Cole asked, knowing that they had not always had the best relationship.
"Sure, what about." Pru replied sitting on the couch next to him.
"I'm scared." Cole said looking down at his lap.
"About what."
"Brenna, the girls, everything."
"What are you scared of Cole." Pru asked knowing this was a lot for Cole to share.
"If I fail, Brenna, by not being able to save her, failing Phoebe again, I never wanted to hurt her or you guys but it just seems my road to hell is paved with good intentions."
"Cole, with Brenna we all are working together to save her and her mom, and if we can't then we all fail, not just you."
"But I just want to do something good and right for a change."
"You are Cole, you have done more good the last two years then any demon is expected." Pru said matter of factly.
"How can you say that, after all the things I've done to Phoebe."
"Because I know the truth, I know you were possessed by the Source and I know how hard you fought."
"What! How?"
"The Elders knew and did nothing about it, they felt it was your battle alone. They even went so far as in pretty much helping the Seer block Phoebe's premonition's of you becoming the Source."
"But why?"
"It was a test to see if you could truly be good and even if you feel as if you failed you passed, that's another reason why they sent Brenna to you and why I'm here. Not only will I be Brenna's white lighter but I'm yours too."
"Really, why didn't you tell me." Cole asked shocked.
"Never a good opportunity." Pru said smiling and added "Now about Phoebe, I think you need to have a heart to heart with her and tell her everything."
"What if she doesn't believe me?"
"Then tell her that I know the truth and if needed call me."
"One more thing, why are you being so nice and understanding to me?" Cole asked standing up.
"Because," Pru said standing as well "You're a good man, you gave up your own life for Phoebe and the girls and with what you are to Brenna. We've had a few chats and Brenna showed up at a time when you both really needed a friend and you have both became better people because of that friendship."

"Your welcome." Pru said giving Cole a hug and laughing at the expression on his face as she pulled away.
"Now, go talk to Phoebe." Just then Phoebe came down to talk to him.

PHOEBE'S BEDROOM
"So, What did you want to talk about." Cole ventured sitting on the bed.
"A lot of things and to get started, Why did you become the Source and be honest about everything." Phoebe said as she sat on a chair opposite of Cole.
"Alright, honesty. The Seer tricked me, I didn't want to be the Source. When I took the Hollow to save you guys his essence stayed with me and the Seer knew it would happen, that's why she summoned me to her so that when you guys killed the Source he would still live on in me."
"Why didn't you fight it or try to tell me so we could help?"
"I tried, I swear to god I tried, but I couldn't. It was a miracle that I could fight him enough to keep from hurting you or your sisters but there at the end it was getting harder and harder. I even wanted your future self to tell you so you'd know but it didn't work out that way." Cole explained looking away from Phoebe.
"I thought it was because you wanted to be the Source."
"No! I even was going to let the wizard take my power but you stopped him."
"The Seer told me he was killing you."
"No, I was giving him the power of the Source so I could be free from it."
"I didn't know, it looks like the Seer had a pretty good shtick going on." Phoebe said then paused.
"What about the baby?" Phoebe asked with tears.
"I wanted him Phoebe, if that's what your asking but I didn't want him to be evil."
"I wanted him too." Phoebe said crying.
"Oh, baby, I am so sorry." Cole said tearing up and taking her in his arms. "I never ever wanted to hurt you but I did, and for that alone I should spend an eternity in the wasteland."

"Do you really mean it."
"Yes I do, Cole" Phoebe said looking up at him "I love you and nothing will ever change that and now that I know the truth I even forgive you, but I want us to take it slow I still need to regain trust in you and in myself."
"I understand, and I love you Phoebe, I was dead until I meet you and I will do everything in my power to keep you safe from both myself and anything this world throws at us." Cole said kissing her.

ATTIC
"Just great." Piper exclaimed walking in the attic.
"What's wrong honey?" Leo asked.
"That was the club and the singer I had lined up tonight cancelled."
"That sucks." Paige said.
"Yeah I have two hours to find a replacement or at least a DJ."
"I can do it." Brenna said shyly.
"What?" Piper asked.
"Sing."
"Are you any good?" Piper asked liking the idea.
"Of course, I've won a few talent contest in my time."
"You do know more than country right." Paige said joking.
"Yes, everything from Matchbox 20 to Celine Dion."
"Ok then, your hired and if you are a hit would you like it to be permanent."
"Why not, I do need a job." Brenna said smiling.
"Well, then let's round up the troops and get going." Piper said walking out of the attic.

They were all at P3, and Brenna was waiting nervously behind stage waiting for her intro. She had borrowed some clothes from Phoebe and was wearing a pair of black leather pants, her black cowboy boots and a purple and silver halter top.
"You look good." Phoebe said walking up behind her with Cole.
"Thanks, what about you?" Brenna asked referring to her and Cole.
"We're good." Phoebe said smiling as everyone else joined them to wish her luck.
"Good luck kiddo." Cole said as they were leaving and her intro came on.
"Kiddo? Don't tell me you're getting a big brother complex." Brenna said smiling.
"Yes I am, and you'd better like it." Cole said smiling back.
"I think I can get use to it." Brenna said and hugged Cole then headed on stage.
"Ladies and Gentleman, let me introduce a fresh face to the music scene, everyone give it up for Brenna Halliwell." The MC announced.
The was a loud applause as Brenna took the mike.
"Thank you, I would like to start the night with a song dedicated to a few couples I know, who through all the denial and obstacles found their soul mates by knowing there's nothing to do when love calls your name." She looked over to Leo and Piper and Cole and Phoebe, who she knew had each gone to the ends of the earth for their love that was never suppose to be.

"Thanks." Brenna said smiling and went on to the next song as the rest of the family went to sit at their both and talked, danced and drank the night away. Pushing all thoughts of the upcoming battle with Brenna's mother to the back of their mind and just enjoying the moment.
