Fractured Fairy Tales
When you were little you believed in fairy tales.
You believed that someday your prince would really come for you. The time you spent living on the streets should've taught you better.
Who knows, maybe it was knowing a real princess that kept you from getting it.
Whatever the case, you still believed in all the fairy tale trappings. But, you can safely say that he's cured you of that.
There were times when he scared you.
When he hurt you.
But you hung in there.
You committed to him.
Gave him your heart.
Too bad he couldn't do it back.
You got down on your hands and knees and asked him to marry you.
A scene in a movie.
A fairy tale in reverse.
(Like most of your relationship, considering that more often than not you were the one who was saving or protecting him)
Only it didn't end like one.
He said no.
He had sound reasons, but sound reasons don't go hand and hand with love, and you're tired of his rational approach to it.
You want and deserve more of a commitment that he's willing to give you.
Because he made you stop believing in fairy tales, and maybe, even in yourself.
