Chapter X: Behind the Locked Door
"The massacre legend of Uchiha clan." sneered Orochimaru, golden eyes gleaming mischievously. "By your beloved brother, Itachi."
...
Those words echo in my head like thousands of ringing bells. Lair. He must be lying, I tell myself. Yet in the darkest part of my mind, I know the truth ring true. I just can't admit it. I shake my head vehemently, glaring at the man before me with all the hatred I've despite the pain in my neck that grows worse and worse every minute passes. "You lied." I say. My free hand reaches for the kunai I've taken from Sakura-san, pointing it threateningly at him. Yet he doesn't seem to be even bit intimidated.
"My, my, Sasuke-kun." he laughed. That chilling laughter makes my blood runs cold. "Such sweet amnesia you have."
Sweet amnesia? Maybe he's right. So sweet indeed that I don't want to know the truth. If whom I used to be didn't want to remember it, I would follow his decision. I remember that look Itachi always gives me whenever I ask. If it pains him so much, even though what this man called Orochimaru tells me is true, I would just pretend that I am deaf and hear nothing. Yet...
"Let me remind you of what you've forgotten, shall I?"
White flash.
Everything faded white. The surrounding including Orochimaru disappears in one white flash and I find myself standing before a large ebony door, which is chained close--a warning sign of forbidden area. "Let me show you..." Orochimaru's inducing voice rings from nowhere and the chain breaks withering into silver dust.
I feel like my head is going to explode. So many images wash over my mind like a tidal wave as the door creaks open little by little.
White flash.
Itachi...
...Aniki.

"You come fast." greeted Kabuto as he saw his two enemies approach. "Where's Sasuke?" asked Itachi in a low voice. On hearing that, Kabuto smirked. "In there. With Orochimaru-sama." He pointed his thumb to the door behind him.
"Get out of the way." said Kakashi, his voice strangely calm. "If we fight, you know who'll win."
One to two battles against Sharingan Kakashi and Uchiha Itachi...
Kabuto considered his options for a brief moment before he nodded. "Fine. You've the tickets." And he stepped to the side, allowing the two access to the door.
As the door was closed, Kabuto smiled slyly. It wasn't like he didn't know what option he had. And of course, Orochimaru knew too. Since Sakon was out, he was assigned as the one taking care of another uninvited visitor, who haven't arrived there yet.

I see a young boy... so young and naive he is as he runs merrily across the green field of short grasses toward an older boy, whose eyes are obsidian black like the younger one's. They look so much alike. No doubt they're brothers. "I'm glad you're back, Aniki."
The older boy smiles and takes the little boy into his arms.
White flash.
Enchanting melody awakes the sleeping place. I look around and see the older boy sit under a blooming sakura tree, playing a shiny silver flute. I walk closer but he doesn't seem to notice me. Looking this close, even without those piercing red eyes, I know exactly who he is. The bush behind me ruffles and emerges from there is the young boy I saw from earlier. He runs past me and flops down next to his brother. His childish voice chimes cheerfully as he asks: "Can you teach me to play a flute like you?"
White flash.
"Aniki, do you have time to teach me how to throw shurikens?" This time the young boy looks a little bit older.
"Tomorrow, Sasuke, I don't have time to play with you today." says the older boy, poking his little brother with two of his long, slender fingers.
"Oww!" The little brother pouts. "You always say tomorrow."
The older one says nothing, his eyes unreadable yet unlike what I've seen from earlier they look void and he doesn't meet his little brother in the eyes. Having finished putting on his shoes, he leaves.
White Flash.
Cold moonlight penetrates through the half-lid window, illuminating the whole bloody scence. The smell of blood is fresh as if it's real. I remember dreaming about this thing before and I know what's coming next. A faceless man with a katana. Only this time...he isn't faceless.
"Aniki!"
That face, those eyes...it's so clear to see...
"Foolish little brother, you're not worth killing. Hate me. Live your shitty life, become stronger and avenge the clan if you can."
And it hurts more than any fatal wound.
"Why, Aniki?" The trembling boy asks. The same question I want to know.
Why, Itachi? Why?

"We meet again, Naruto-kun." The white haired man addressed the kitsune boy, who had just arrived. Those sky-blue eyes glared at him hatefully. Naruto had lost all of his respect and friendship he had for the white haired man since the three sennin reunion incident. "Where're Sasuke and Sakura-chan?"
Kabuto chuckled softly, shaking his head at the pathetic stunt the young boy was acting. "You said as if you can help them, Naruto-kun. You're just a helpless little genin." A murderous look passed across Kabuto's usually friendly face as he studied Naruto's gesture. "If you move from there even bit, I'll certainly kill you."
Naruto smirked. "Like I fear!" And he threw his shurikens at Kabuto. Kabuto dodged to the side white Naruto's hand did the seals. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"
Two of the clones of Naruto charged at Kabuto but Kabuto could easily depose of them. Two more clones came from behind but it was predictable...
"Woohoo!" The attack hit Kabuto directly in the middle of his back but it turned out that it was just a log. Naruto's eyes widened. Switch!? The blond boy looked around hastily. Where's he going to come out?
Footstep.
From the right! Naruto jumped quickly backward as a kunai flew from his left, barely missing a few strand of sun-kissed hair. "Wha-!?" I was wrong!? Nah...impossible! There must be someone else! "Who's there? Show yourself!"
The figure came out of the shadow, revealing to be...
"Sakura-chan!"
Again, Sakura looked like a manipulated puppet. Her emerald eyes were blank and unfeeling and her movement clumsy. She picked the kunai up from the floor and held it dangerously close to her throat. Naruto was busy staring at her that he didn't sense Kabuto's attack coming from behind.
Slash!
The blow was deflected. Long trail of blood dripped down from the fresh gash of Kabuto's skin. The white haired-man looked up at the kitsune boy's rescuer.
"How disgraceful of you to attack an unprepared opponent." The newcomer said, swinging his enormous sword at Kabuto. "Now Hoshigaki Kisame will be your opponent."
Naruto turned to stare at the shark-like man in surprise. "Why do you-" he began but Sakura shifted from her suicidal position into an attack mode, kunai at the ready. She sliced at Naruto's clones, making her way through the throngs.
Damn, I'll have to knock her off. Naruto thought. It was now inevitable that he had to fight his own teammate.

White flash.
Three genins sits, looking straight ahead at the silver-grey haired jounin, who introduces himself as Hatake Kakashi, their new instructor. He then asks them to introduce themselves as well. I recognize the blond hair boy, who speaks first as Naruto-san. He isn't much different from he is now. He always love ramen. I also notice the pink haired-girl on the farthest right as Sakura-san. She too isn't different from she is now much. Only with longer hair.
"Name's Uchiha Sasuke. Many things that I hate. Nothing special in favor." says the raven-haired boy sitting in the middle. "Ambition...I don't want it to end as the word 'ambition' but it's the purpose in my life to restore the Uchiha clan and..."
The air around him is filled with the mixed feeling of grief arrogance. He's someone so different from what I am now. Someone I don't know...
"Kill a certain man."
I doubt we're really the same person.
White flash.
"I will protect you, Sasuke. Even if it costs my life."
Kakashi-san?
"What do you want?" The boy restrained to wall glares disdainfully at the snake-like man. The man looks like the older version of the Orochimaru I've just encountered.
"I. Want. To. Taste. You."
The man kisses the restrained boy.
"Arrrgggghhhhh!"
Those eyes... Itachi?
White flash.
"Forgive me, Sasuke."
Why?
"Is this what you really want?"
I don't understand.
"Worry about yourself, dobe."
You've never told me.
"You will never understand."
It pains us both...
"Maybe it's better to just forget everything..."
...
Throb. The cursed seal burnt black and white, swallowing all the vision.
And everything turned as black as bottomless abyss.

Orochimaru smiled his creepy smile as he saw who had come paying him a visit. And a memorable visit, it would be. "I've been waiting for you, Itachi-kun." He turned to the silver-grey haired jounin. "But I'm quite surprise to see you here, Kakashi-kun. You want the lovely boy as well, I presume?" Kakashi narrowed his eyes at the sennin but Orochimaru just laughed. Youthful laughter...how he loved it.
Itachi and Kakashi seemed to notice their unnatural surrounding but they said nothing, for what caught their attention most was that the man before him looked too young to be Orochimaru and his arms weren't sealed. Yet it was Orochimaru's own body, they were sure. Then...why did he look so young? And those arms...?
As if he could read their minds, the psychotic sennin's smile grew wider. "It's nice to be young again, don't you think? Tsunade should acknowledge this that I've attained the true immortality to stay forever youthful beyond time..." He said in a smooth yet dreamy voice.
"...Time reversing spell." said Itachi grimly. That explains everything...
Kakashi's eyes widened in disbelief. There were tales about the time reversing spell but he didn't believe any of them was true. Why does Orochimaru...?
"You're right, Itachi-kun." Orochimaru clapped mockingly.
Clash!
Itachi's katana clashed with the sennin's Kusanagi. Orochimaru grinned and jumped back. "Patience, Itachi-kun. I'm not your opponent."
"What?"
Blood-red Sharingan eyes widened as he felt a dark, evil aura from behind him. He turned back slowly...
There, before him stood Sasuke. His body was covered with Orochimaru's cursed seal and he was holding a kunai close enough to slit Itachi's throat.

This story is supposed to end in the next chapter; however, I can't be sure myself since I haven't written the next chapter yet. Maybe it will end or maybe it will not. If it's longer than I thought then it will take another chapter to finish. Okay, okay, I'm not predicting that again since it seemed I was wrong last time, so no promise now. ((sweatdrop))
Review please! I need it!
