For those who watched the masterpiece by Satoshi Kon, this poem will bring back some memories of Millennium Actress.

Eternal Love

Past the fields of green
There lays a world of white.
You promised to take me there that night
That night, before full moon
You said there was hope,
Was light, was chance,
One day, you said, you would show me
That distant world with you.

Dazzled with wonder still,
I noticed a figure around your neck
Glimmered by moon's reflection
Shone a mysterious key.
Eyes locking mine, you said
It opens the most important thing ever.

Curiousity took over me.
What was it? The most important thing?
Give me till tommorrow, I had said
Then you can tell me what the secret is.
Our pinkies hooked, promising
Yet that day, never came.

I searched all my life
Looking, but not finding.
Where were you, I wondered
As I held the key close.

This is where my life blurs
Events become feelings,
Feeling become events.
Word comes to me from you, and soon
I find myself in that alien landscape.

A flash of color in the white dreamworld
Is it you? Could it be?
My boots life from the snow.
Expecting, yet not expecting
Only to find more illusions.

Thousands of emotions at once
All conected to the key around my neck.
I'm here, I thought.
Where are you?
I waited on the soft white sheet
But I knew, you would never come.

I still chase my dream, even though
My soul and body separated.
I can go farther then before,
To places unreachable, unviewable
It's a never ending journey
As I learn its truths
In burning flames of eternal love.
