Hey! I'm new here, and this is my first shot at a fanfic. It's a short Romy. Please read and review.

And I disclaim; I own nothing.

Everything They Were

Every night HE would walk over. Walk for miles. He would even walk in the rain that pounded against his shoulders and rolled down his bare arms. To see HER.

She had auburn hair with strange white streaks, and sparkling emerald eyes. She was a shy, goth girl; but she would open up to people over time. She liked to think she was an individualist. She often thought too hard. She day-dreamed a lot, and although she'd never admit it, she had always longed for someone to walk miles in the rain for her. She was so happy when she found that, and prayed that it would stay.

He would come. He would sneak past the mansion's security systems with the skill of a thief, and expertly skale the oak tree that grew outside the second-story room she shared with her best friend. He couldn't be more thankful for the fact that the bubbly brunette who also occupied the room was willing and able to keep the secret, and to give the couple time alone. He'd lightly tap on the window and would smile when his southern belle opened it.

He longed to see her. He would sit across from her and gaze through her eyes as if he was trying to find something, and he could always manage to find it. It was always shining and special when he did.

THEY would walk together. When they walked it would be to nowhere. They liked walking to nowhere and would walk there often. Nowhere changed each time they walked but they always seemed to know exactly where it was. They would get there just to sit and talk and do absolutely nothing. They crossed the rest of the world out and kept it in a place far, far off because they never wanted to find it again.

They were so happy. She loved that she could tell him everything. He loved that she would tell him anything. Especially when he told her the bad things, so they could dance them away forever. "Let me give you dis star, so when you think dat dere is nothin' left, you can remember dat bright thing up in the sky and remember you do have somethin'. Dere is hope." That was all that ever needed to be said.

She was so...obscure sometimes. He always understood her, even if no one else did. He loved the sound of her voice when she was half asleep. She loved that his face was always full of light. The only thing getting them through the day was that the other might be in it. They were always so excited. "I can't ever sleep, 'cause I am so anxious to see you...don't leave yet." They hated leaving nowhere. They hated leaving each other.

She was such a secret sentimentalist. He loved her for that. He was so proud. So proud he could always find something so beautiful in her. He loved nearly everything about her, and he knew it was time to tell her this.

He wanted someone to walk in the rain with forever. He wanted someone's eyes to search forever. He wanted to live in nowhere forever. He wanted to give stars to someone forever. He wanted someone to dance with forever. Sleep would be nice too. He didn't get much lately. He told her this. The goth girl thought about it. But not too hard. She decided that it was enough that he would stay.
