Rain poured down over the lone figure standing on the deck of the Black Pearl. He did not move to seek a dryer spot, nor even to simply shield himself a bit, but simply stood. He knew she was behind him. He did not turn.
"You owe me a boat, Sparrow."
"I do indeed," he answered.
Ana shifted. "When do I get it?"
"Whenever yer ready to leave, luv."
Ana stepped up to her captain, eyes searching for some connection to his. "Jack... What's botherin' you, Cap'n?"
"Nothing."
"Liar."
"Pirate."
"Very true." There was a long pause. "I'm still waiting."
"For wha', luv?"
"The answer to my question."
"Ah." More silence. "How soon before ya leave, Ana Maria?"
This caught her off guard. "Who says I will?"
"You wanted yer boat."
"All's I said is you owe me one, Cap'n. Never did I say I'd collect now." She stopped, reaching out to him and pulling his face around so his eyes were meet hers. "We're not gonna mutiny against ye, Jack. We're not gonna leave ye. Understand me, ye daft fool?"
A smile slowly spread across her captain's face. "Aye, luv."
Ana Maria grinned and leaned back on the railing. "About that boat...."
Jack looked slightly startled.
"I won't be needin' it."
