But she missed New York--the thrum of the city, the kink of the courtroom, the rush of adrenaline as she found a way to shape the impossible into the possible. Time here seemed to stretch and elongate, like a long string of bubble gum pulled from the mouth of a bored child.
She caught her reflection in a store front window. She straightened her shoulders, picked up her pace, and pretended she was walking 42nd--taunting Olivia, and watching her smile.
