Day Four:
(Camilla Blue)
Have I ever mentioned how much I seriously dislike the Easter holidays? Personally I think Easter is no fun when you don't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore. It's just a lot of religion then.
This morning I debated reading a Christian book or listening to my Christian CD on my (charmed) headphones, in honour of Easter you know, but I decided I don't want religion, so now I am re-reading the fabulous Muggle novel "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith (a British author no less) and listening to the soundtrack from the musical Little Shop of Horrors. I love that musical. Over break I saw the Muggle film, with Ellen Greene as Audrey, and I once saw it performed at a local theatre. I think I like the stage show better, though I loved the film. Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist, enough said. It's just a clever story; there's humour, irony, romance, slight angst, talking plants, singing... and death! What is there not to love?
I'm contemplating getting some friends together to be the Do-Wop Girls for Halloween next year. (Of course, Hogwarts usually doesn't have dress-up balls for Halloween, but in the land of fan-fiction anything is possible! Especially things involving clothes, dancing, and romance!) I think the Do- Wop Girls are the coolest people in the whole show. Their whole job is to stand around, act sassy, and sing. I want to be Chiffon, because she has the coolest name. I think that would be a very creative idea for a Halloween costume. I have other ideas too:
Go as can-can dancers from the Muggle film Moulin Rouge (cause I think the petticoat dresses are awesome)
Go as the Band-Aids from Almost Famous (someone would be Penny Lane, I'd be Palexia Aphrodisia, someone would be Sapphire, someone would be Beth from Denver, and somebody would be Estrella Star)
Go as Rainbow Brite, Stormy, and the Colour Kids from the Muggle cartoon "Rainbow Brite" (the Colour Kids are Red Butler, Lala Orange, Canary Yellow, Patty O'Green, Buddy Blue, Indigo, Shy Violet, and Tickle Me Pink) – I would be Stormy cause she has purple hair and an attitude
Go as Care Bears from the Muggle cartoon "Care Bears"
Go as characters from my all-time favourite, Rocky Horror (someone would be Frank – pity them whomever they are -, someone would be Brad – maybe Harry? - , someone would be Janet – Cho or Ashlyn maybe -, someone would be Riff-Raff, someone would be Magenta – probably Christa - , I would be Columbia, someone would be Dr. Scott maybe if they wanted to, someone would be Rocky – pity them too -, someone would be Eddie, someone would be the Criminologist if they really wanted to, and if anyone else wanted to come they could be Trixie the Usherette or random assorted Transylvanians – Trannies –.)
Last year on Easter a bunch of us went down to Hogsmeade and had lunch and went to Honeydukes'. My parents owled me a package of Easter chocolates to eat. This year has been pretty much the same: my parents owled me a lot of chocolate, we went to Hogsmeade and ate lunch and went to Honeydukes, and now Cho and Marietta and Christa and I are sitting in the Ravenclaw common room sharing our Easter chocolates. Marietta's parents always send lots of those big chocolate bunnies for her to share with her friends, and we ate those first thing. My God they were good. We just do not get enough chocolate at Hogwarts...
The quill I am writing with isn't even mine, did you know that? It belongs to Christa. She left it in my backpack after our trip to the States. I meant to return it to her, but I never got around to it. She doesn't mind, she encourages my ranting...
Tomorrow is Ashlyn's birthday. I decided to pamper her on her birthday. When we were in Hogsmeade I bought her a scented candle and a bright-purple quill and notebook and a little chocolate cake from Honeydukes'. I am entrusting Ginger with these things to give to Astor to give to Ashlyn, as Ginger is Astor's girlfriend, and Astor is in Gryffindor with Ashlyn... I hope Ashlyn has a very happy birthday.
