I wanted to write more, so I did. Go ahead and read if you want to. Warning:

Violence. And also, the story isn't going where you think it is.

Subject 0001

Zim just stared at the stunner for a while. He wasn't sure if he had really heard it

fall and couldn't tell if he was actually seeing it. The darkness did bad things to his eyes.

But when he stuck his arm out of the cell and touched it, he knew he hadn't been

mistaken.

He backed to the corner of his cell, wondering if the guard had seen him. He

wasn't in the best of health, and he didn't want beaten or put in an experiment. He waited

several minutes, and when no guards appeared, he went to the front of his cell again.

"..O-okay..," Zim whispered, trembling with excitement. Something like this had

happened before, and Zim had nearly escaped the labs, but he had forgotten about the

cameras and was quickly captured. He would be more careful this time, he would avoid

the cameras and the guards all at once, then some how manage to run from the building

and the 5 acres surrounding it.

Zim shook his head in frustration. It just wasn't possible. There was no way that

he'd escape. His antenna drooped and he felt depressed. He sat down by the cell door and

waited for Shru to return, although Zim knew it would be a couple of days.

"What do you propose we do about the rioters, Dib?" said Tom, Dib's friend and

assistant. They were staring out the window and down the 20 stories of the building. A

riot was going on below them, filled with people fighting to free the Irkens.

"Throw an Irken corpse at them," Dib said, and he chuckled lightly. That was

what they usually did when riots got out of hand, but he wanted this one to end before it

got that far.

"Which window?"

"The one on your right, Tom. Please call the CC chamber for me and have them

send up a big one."

"Yes, sir," Tom said, and he pulled a cell phone out of his pocket. Dib grabbed his

arm before he could dial.

"Tom," Dib said slowly. "I would like you to send one of the guards to the

holding area and bring subject 0001 to me. That would be all."

-------------

Zim decided to bring the stunner into the cell. He wasn't sure where he could put

it. The cell was too small to lay it flat on the floor, and he didn't want the stunner to

smack to the floor while a guard was in the area. Zim decided to just hold it.

Everyone was a little startled when the chamber door creaked open again. It

hadn't been long since Shru was taken to his experiment. The guard stepped in, his

stunner buzzing off purple sparks. He had it set to level 4, a level that could kill a young

Irken.

"0001."

Zim immediately backed to the corner of his cell, hoping he could hide even

though the guard knew where he was. He held his stunner out in front of him for

protection. The guard sighed angrily.

"0001, you're up!"

'What do they want with me?!' Zim thought, confused and frightened. The Irkens

in bad health were never taken to experiments, so he didn't understand why they wanted

him. 'Unless...oh my God, they're going to execute me!' Sometimes the guards took

Irkens out of their cells and kill them to make room for new ones. Zim had never worried

about that before, and was jolted by the fact he was going to die for that.

The guard walked down the hall, and everyone backed away. They knew this

guard well. He was the cruel one. He stopped at Zim's cell, not seeing the stunner in

Zim's hand, and started to play with his keys.

Zim trembled and fumbled his fingers on the stunner, looking for the level setting

knob. He finally found it, and twisted it as far as it would let him. The door unlocked, and

the guard stepped in. He pointed his stunner in Zim's direction.

"Let's go."

The guard stared at Zim with annoyance on his face. He tapped his foot

impatiently and cleared his throat. Zim did his best to hide his fear with a strong glare, but

the guard didn't seem to notice or care.

"Come on, 0001. You're in bad health, you don't want stunned."

The guard was knocked to the floor, something striking him hard on the side of

his leg. Zim quickly stood up, aimed for the guard's neck, and jabbed the stunner down.

Everything was happening too fast for the guard to protect himself, and he blacked out,

his neck bleeding on the floor.

Zim panted and let himself slump to the floor. 'Now what?' he thought in a panic,

hiding his eyes with his hand. 'I've got a half dead guard on the floor, and I'm the one

who did this to him. No way I get through this alive.' He wiped the sweat off his forehead

and tried to find an area on the floor that the guard wasn't laying in and blood was

dripping on. The guard was taller than Zim, and his feet stuck out of the cell's doorway.

Seeing the cell door still open, Zim wasn't sure how to react. He looked down at

the guard, then at the open door, then back again. He got an idea, and acted upon it

without thinking it completely through. He stripped the guard of his uniform, put his own

baggy clothes on him, and put the uniform on himself.

Zim made sure none of his skin was showing. He put the guard's goggles over his

eyes and tucked his antenna under his hat. He zippered the coat so that it covered the area

below the goggles, and made sure the back of his head wasn't showing. The pants and

boots fit fine. He dug the keys out of the pockets, played around with them, then put them

back. He took his stunner and walked out of his cell.

'I'm actually doing it,' Zim thought in amazement, and he started to tremble with

excitement. 'I'm just going to walk out of here unnoticed. It's almost too much.' Zim

fought back a laugh. The other Irkens were watching him closely. That couldn't be the

guard they had seen earlier.

Zim reached the chamber door out to the rest of the lab. He stood there for a

while, just staring at it. He realized he was too frightened to leave the holding area. He

shifted his weight from one foot to the other, unsure of his next move.

The chamber door opened wide. Another guard glared at him. Zim took a step

back, afraid he'd been recognized.

"Come on, Hank, you're missing the cheerleaders!" the guard said, and he left the

door open for Zim and walked down the hall. He stopped at a room with the words

'Personnel Only' printed in red on it. He opened the door, and Zim heard other men

laughing and hooting at the TV.

Seeing the other guard enter the staff room and leave him, Zim left the holding

area and shut the door behind him. He stood blinking for a while, adjusting to the bright

lights. This hallway was familiar to him. He'd been led through here many times to go to

an experiment, but he hadn't gone very far down it.

Zim suddenly became dizzy. He had forgotten that he was on the 12th story of the

building and that there were guards and cameras everywhere. If his hat were to fall off or

his green skin to show, he would be done for. This information discouraged him, but Zim

didn't let it stop him. He was confident that he could escape.

He started down the hall, looking for a flight of steps. Finding none, he looked for

an elevator. Still nothing. He passed a room where an experiment was in process. He

heard Shru screaming in agony, and felt pity for him.

"You!"

Zim was startled by the voice, and he spun around. He saw a very angry Dib

approaching him. He held his stunner close to him, fighting off hatred and fear.

"I asked for subject 0001 over 45 minutes ago! What is taking you so long?!" Dib

asked, his face getting red and his glasses almost falling off his face.

"Uhm...he...died," Zim stuttered, trying to disguise his voice.

"What?!" Dib said, joy showing in his face. "Really?!" He made a victory pose

and clapped his hands. "That's wonderful news!" Dib came over and hugged Zim, who

became stiff and fought off the urge to throw Dib off.

Dib let go of him and patted his shoulder, a smile on his face. "Thank you, guard.

Thank you, thank you, thank you." He pulled out a cell phone. "I need somebody to go to

the holding area and pick up subject 0001's body...uh-huh...thanks." He snapped the cell

phone shut and put it in his pocket.

Zim gulped silently, knowing that they would soon find the real guard's body in

his cell. He had to get out of there. And fast. He cleared his throat.

"Uhm..Mr. Dib, sir, I have some..uh...other b-business to take care of on the first

floor. I'm still new here...I haven't been here too long, and I n-need to get down there,"

Zim stuttered, feeling stupid and helpless. Dib eyed him weird, then turned and pointed at

what Zim thought was a closet.

"Just go down those stairs. It's a long walk, but you should be able to get to the

first floor from there," Dib said, then eyed him again. "Do you need any other help?"

Zim shook his head frantically. "N-no, sir. Thank you, sir." Dib glared at him,

then headed for the holding area. He opened the chamber door, and watched as all the

Irkens gasped and scrambled to their corners. He laughed at them. He slowly walked

down the hall, letting his footsteps echo through the place. He finally reached Zim's cell.

"...GUARDS!" Dib yelled, seeing the bleeding guard on the floor. He ran out of

the holding area and looked for the guard he had just been talking to. "WE HAVE AN

ESCAPE!" Dib yelled. He ran to the stairs he had pointed out to the guard.

He saw Zim, who had already ran down 6 stories.

And that's the end of the chappy. Tis fun to be evil. I'm putting the next chapter up probably Wednesday because this one was so short, and so is the next one.
