Title: A Familiar Tale

Author: Sango-sama

Genre: General/slight Humor

Pairings: Implied Inuyasha/Kagome

Rating: PG

Word Count: 97

Summary: Kagome's mother has a little explaining to do.

"Mom!" Kagome looked positively ashen. Smacking the magazine open on the
table, she gestured emphatically at an image of a strikingly familiar,
yet scantily clad female sharing a passionate embrace with one equally
familiar dog demon. "I can't believe you sold our story!"

"Now, now. With as often as you've ruined your uniforms, we had to find
a way to pay for replacements somehow..."

Although still quite embarrassed, she nodded in acknowledgement. "Did
you really have to embellish it so much?"

The elder Higurashi was unable to meet her daughter's eyes.
"Well...those uniforms don't come cheaply, dear..."

Author's Note: In case, the punchline didn't make sense to you, a girl's school uniform in Japan may be as high as $300 dollars a piece. Consider all the times that uniforms gets wripped, bled on, covered in youkai guts, etc. and you find yourself quite a bit lighter in the wallet. This would be particularly difficult for a family who is dependent on occasional patronage and perhaps a small bit of government monies to be able to live.

I am happy to say that this piece was just announced as the Best Humor in the Spring 2004 inuyasha(underscore)fanfic LiveJournal Community. Thanks guys!
