A/N: Sad as it is, this is going to be so incredulously short compared to the last chapter. But eh, it's how this will go. I'm at somewhere that is not my home and things are happening so definitely am not on the same train of thought that I was when I wrote the first chapter.

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters, J.K. Rowling does.

...One Week Later...

She stood in front of the floor length mirror, her eyes sparkling with delight. Her brown hair was in simple flat twists, the rest of her hair in thick curls. Her dress was a snowy light pink, strapless, and that went down to her ankles. The top was trimmed in small sequins. Her matching shoes were open-toed and the ties wrapped sleekly around her calves.

Lavender had spent hours getting prepared, to look her absolute best. The girls' dormitories were so full of hustle and bustle since 5 am that morning. It was bursting with teenage girls, running around trying to get ready, chattering on about how grand the night will be.

She nervously flattened out her gown, putting on her white, transparent shawl. She put on her glittering jeweled earrings while trying to steady her hand. Parvati ran into the girls' 4th year sleeping quarters, shouting,

"Girls, they're waiting in the common room!"

Lavender's heart skipped a beat, a shaky but excited smile on her face.

....

The boys all waited in their black suits down in the common room. It was the complete opposite of the girls' dorms. Barely anyone was talking, and if they were, it was only nervous small talk to pass by the time. It was a rather odd sight, seeing all of them sitting around, hands anxiously in their pockets or fumbling around fixing some article of clothing. At least a half an hour passed until there was any sign of true life emerging from the girls' rooms.

Angelina was the first one down, who was soon followed by Alicia. They were rather giggly, and beamed as they walked down the staircase. The Weasley twins grinned, watching as their dates came into sight. The four chatted for a bit, and then made their way out of the common room.

Next was a very attractive girl in a bright blue dress. Neville couldn't recognize who exactly it was, but she came town, meeting up with an out-of- place Viktor Krum. A freckled girl with flaming red hair was the subsequent date. Ginny could hardly contain herself as Dean Thomas took her arm-in-arm to the Great Hall with a smile.

Neville stood, his heart racing uncontrollably. He had styled his hair, and cleaned up rather nicely. He held his breath, waiting for her to arrive. About ten minutes later, with his eyes fixed on the staircase, he could only look on as a stunningly beautiful young lady ambled down. He was hypnotized by those ice blue eyes. She walked in front of him with a beaming smile. After several attempts, he managed to say,

"You look absolutely gorgeous."

She blushed as he took her hand.

"You ready to go?" he asked, grinning.

"Of course," she replied.

They sauntered hand in hand, making small talk until they reached the entrance to the Great Hall.

"Hold on," he said, right before they entered.

He pulled out a little brown box. She stopped, intrigued, letting out a slight gasp as she saw it. He put the pink rose corsage on her wrist. She kissed him lightly on the cheek,

"Thank you,"

He blinked, frozen momentarily, but then they strode into the Yule Ball. It was truly a beautiful sight; the lights fluttering, the ice sculptures, the couples dancing .She looked around joyfully, taking in the scene before her.

Professor Trelawney gave Neville a knowing smile. She then went over and whispered something to the band.

The music changed, into the waltz that Neville was so familiar with. He grinned, his cheeks slightly red as he looked at her.

"Would you like to dance?" he asked, confidently.

"I'd adore to," she beamed.

They danced together with such grace. No one dared to call him Swan ever again. She was rather impressed by his skill, and whole-heartedly wished it would never end.

The song slowed, she moving closer to him.

"This is wonderful," she whispered in his ear.

He, with the utmost confidence and bravery, kissed her softly. She smiled, him gently responding,

"I know."

FIN.

A/N: REALLY couldn't think of a better ending than that. This fic was just for the smaller, but not less important, characters that make the Harry Potter series so great. Go sidekicks! Please rr!
