I wrote this story shortly after Father's Day, in remembrance of Father's Day. Basically, it's about Ramza writing a note to his own departed father, Balbanes Beoulve, to fill him in on the happenings of the beloved family he left behind. And before you ask, no, my dad isn't dead. I had a good time writing this story so I hope you enjoy it. Also, I do not own any part of Square Enix or Final Fantasy Tactics.

Dear Father,

Everything is going like you want it to. Delita is excelling at the academy in Gariland. The dean is very impressed, seeing Delita's background, and he is very excited that Delita has such a potential for academics, fighting, and magic. I am doing very well, too. Our teacher, Mister Daravon, is a very nice teacher, all though his speeches are very monotonous. We joke with him about his reputation in the 50 Year War, and he is very proud to have me as a student all because of you. For that, thanks Dad.

Teta and Alma are doing very well at the Aristocratic School here in Igros, as well. Alma makes sure everything goes right with Teta, and if there ever is a problem she is very attentive to solving it. Teta's academics are very remarkable. She got even higher grades than Delita in his strongest classes, and in his weakest classes she dominated him as well. She is getting even smarter than Alma! You always said Teta had a lot of potential, didn't you? I wonder where she and Alma are right now...

Zalbag is proud to announce that he has the qualifications for a Heresy Examiner Assistant, all though he does not wish to become one. Since you've been gone, he's become even more faithful to the Church of Glabados, as have I. We attend Mass every Sunday, like we always do. Sometimes Delita and Teta come, too. Of course, whenever she's not spending time with Teta or studying at school, Alma is at the Igros Cathedral, studying the Holy Books so she can become a Cleric one day. I am proud to announce she is at the top of her class at the Church.

Dycedarg is dealing with the aftermath of the War right now, and he is doing a very good job. All ready many rebel forces have been quelled, as have many factions that turned against the royalty. However, the Death Corps are still very persistent in their fight for equality. Dycedarg is trying to the extent of his ability to stop them and establish peace, but so far it has been futile. We all hope that the Death Corps will soon understand us and we can live in harmony soon.

I have some more very exciting news, Father. Delita and I have been selected as the most likely to succeed to Knighthood in our class at Gariland! Both Zalbag and Dycedarg are very proud, and Teta is ecstatic. All ready we have tried out using knight swords and Mister Daravon says that we will become fine knights. I am really excited! I wish you were here to see us spar. It is really quite a show!

Well, I regret to say I don't have very much more time. It has been great writing to you. I hope I can speak to you soon, Father. We all send our best wishes.

Your son,

Ramza Beoulve

Ramza finished writing his letter, then placed his delicate quill back in its inkwell. Getting up, he gingerly folded the letter and stuffed it into a crisp new envelope, then dripped wax and pressed on the seal of Prince Larg, the White Lion. Stuffing it in his pocket, he left the Beoulve Castle and headed out to the cemetery, rushing past the crumbling gravestones of those so long gone they were no longer remembered by anyone living. Finally he came upon his father's grave.

With tears in his eyes, Ramza placed the letter down on top of the stone tomb. Just then, something caught his eye. Turning around, he saw a small yellow mushroom. Slightly confused, Ramza brushed it off his father's tomb and then turned around, heading into the sunset until his entire figure was enveloped in the fiery rays of the twilight sun.
