The One Ring
Written by Kitsume-chan
What once began so hopeful,
What seemed at first so bright,
That at one point burned brightly
As a star strung high in night.
Your courage now does lesson,
When we find we need it most.
See what harm this burden does,
To torment its unlucky host.
Suspicion lies within your soul,
An untrusting gaze remains,
Your eyes once gleamed with innocence
They now reveal your pains.
That minion of evil corrupts your spirit,
Holds onto you with iron grip,
And hopes to see you all the way,
Into Grey Havens upon Grey Ship.
At what time seemed the enemy,
Has seemingly become,
Your ally now more than me,
Great Power has this One.
A Ring that holds one captive
Feeding on the human greed,
A most effective weapon
None more powerful, indeed.
My friend, I will not lie and wait
For you to fall a slave
To your own subconcious greed;
It will take you to your grave.
Set free yourself from this torment,
Cast away this thing.
Let your will bend no more
Under this commanding Ring.
Destroy this Ring once and for all,
And with it all your fears.
For the greatest healing powers,
lies within one's tears.
I've been beside you for so long,
And will continue to forever.
One hobbit's journey to overcome evil,
Accomplished by us together.
