One Hogan Place was quickly flooding, along with the rest of New York. And there was nothing to do except head for the roof and hope for rescue. As Jack McCoy climbed the stairs, he wished he'd grabbed the model boat from his office. The thought made him feel silly.
When Jack got to the roof, Detective Lennie Briscoe was already there, soaked by the torrential downpour of rain. It was just his luck that he was at Hogan Place prepping for testimony when the flood broke. If he was back at the precinct, uptown, he surely would have drowned by now.
"And my ex-wives probably just got their hair done." Lennie said.
