The song used in this fan fic is Haunted by Evanescence. Some of the lyrics have been changed to fit better with the fic. Thanks for reading.
Lily Potter awoke suddenly from a dream that had been haunting her for some time now. Her heart was beating quickly as the music resounded in her head.
Long lost words whisper slowly to me, still cant find what keeps me here,
A man- a tall, dark, hooded man- had been pursuing her. He had followed her into her home and killed her husband, James Potter. All she knew was that he was going to kill her, too. Her child, Harry; however, had been saved. How? She did not know. He was haunting her, and he was still inside her very head.
When all this time I've been so hollow inside I know your still there.
She had tried to tell James about her reoccurring dream, but he told her that there was no need to fear, because of the Fidelius Charm and Peter would never tell anyone where they were. But Lily insisted that Voldemort was still watching her and knew where they were. She could feel his breath on her neck, it was sending a chill down her spine. She feared the day when he would find them, even though the chances were scarce.
Watching me, wanting me, I can feel you pull me down Fearing you, loathing you I wont let you pull me down
She was determined to protect her family in any way that she knew how. Even if it meant dying for them. She was prepared.
Voldemort was searching, as always, for the Potters. He had already killed three of their beloved friends, but no one knew where they were. He was hunting them down, hunting for the young boy who the prophecy said would be his downfall. He knew they were somewhere, he could feel it.
Hunting you, I can smell you alive Your heart pounding in my head
Lily, being as defiant se she had always been, knew that she would not let that pathetic excuse for a human-being steal her precious son's life.
Watching me, wanting me I won't let you pull me down
Voldemort was getting inside Lily's head. He saw her every night as she slept. But where were they? He didn't know. Until...
Killing me, raping me Watching me
Wormtail had come to him with the location of the Potters. The fools made my most devoted servant their secret keeper and they would pay, they would pay dearly. He thought.
When he arrived at Godric's Hollow, he knocked the door down and walked right inside their humble abode. Several shrill cries echoed through the small house. James had tried to hold him off, giving time for Lily and the boy to run-- to get away, but with a simple flick of his wand, and an uttered "Avada Kadavra" James fell to the ground.
Watching me, Haunting me, I can feel you pull me down
He approached Lily next. She begged him to leave them be, and to take her instead of her beloved child. This man had no heart, he could show no mercy. Lily clutched to her child even more so and held him out of Voldemort sight.
Fearing you, begging you
Voldemort flicked his wand one last time and uttered the same, horrifying words.
I won't let you pull me down
Lily's limp body fell to the ground and her spirit escaped from her body. She watched as Voldemort tried to kill her son, her Harry, but he failed. For some unknown reason, he could not kill him. It simply hit Voldemort instead and he disappeared. Lily cried out in triumph as she watched over her small son from above.
