.:The View from Heaven:.
A short song-fic about Harry's feelings when Sirius died, the song is by Yellowcard.
Disclaimer- I do not own Harry Potter or Yellowcard. I wish I did, but sadly, I don't.
Harry watched the rain spatter on the window of the boy's dormitory. It was about 3 in the morning, and Harry couldn't sleep. He was thinking about Sirius.
{I'm just so tired; won't you sing me to sleep? And fly through my dreams, so I can hitch a ride with you tonight.}
None of them understood. They didn't know what it was like, to lose a mother and a father, then lose someone that was almost like a father. He just wanted to leave the world behind him.
{And get away from this place, have a new name and face. I just ain't the same without you in my life. Late night drives, all alone in my car, and I can't help but start singing lines form all our favorite songs. And melody's in the air, singing life just ain't fair. Sometimes I still just can't believe you're gone.}
Harry had done a lot of thinking about this. The only words that comforted him, he didn't even know where he heard them. "What is death, but another part of life?"
{And I'm sure the view from Heaven beats the hell out of mine here. And if we all believe in heaven, maybe we'll make it through one more year, down here.}
It still hurt, oh yes. But Harry knew that that's exactly what Voldemort wanted. He had to stay on his guard if he was ever going to make it. He would avenge Sirius' death.
{I feel your fire when it's cold in my heart, and things sorta start reminding me of my last night with you. I only need one more day, just one more chance to say, I wish that I had gone up with you too.}
Harry checked his watch and got out a piece of parchment form inside his pillow case. He quietly walked down stairs to the common room. He set the parchment in the fire place that he had re-lit. He watched the paper slowly burn.
{And I'm sure the view from Heaven beats the hell out of mine here. And if we all believe in heaven, maybe we'll make it through one more year, down here. I hope that all is well in Heaven, cause it's all shots of hell down here. I hope that I find you in Heaven, cause I'm so lost without you down here.}
"I'll keep writing, Sirius." whispered Harry as he got up from the hearth and walked back up the stairs and crawled into bed.
{You won't be coming back here I didn't get to say goodbye.}
