"EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

Inu Yasha spun on his heels and looked in the direction of the forest.

"Sango." he said frowning.

He was suddenly pushed to the side by Miroku who ran as quickly as he could towards the sound.

"Inu Yasha!" said Shippo catching up with him. "That was Sango! Shouldn't we go see if she is alright!"

"Yah." said Inu Yasha still frowning.

Miroku was the first to get to Sango.

She was lying motionless with Kagome kneeling over her.

"Kagome" Miroku said softly

Kagome turned at look at Miroku threw blood shot eyes.

"Lady Kagome. What happened?" he asked kneeling next to her

"We were attacked." said Kagome "she..." Kagome stopped Miroku tore his eyes away from Sango to look at the girl next to him tears ran down her cheek

"Oh Miroku" Kagome leaned against him he put his arms around her he felt her draw a shuddering breath

"Miroku," she said again "she died trying to save me."

"lady Kagome she's... "

"dead?"

Miroku and Kagome turned to see Inu Yasha and Shippo looking at the body of Sango Miroku dropped his arms and let Kagome to go to the hanyou.

"Inu Yasha" said Kagome flinging her arms around his neck.

"is she really..."

Inu Yasha put his arms around Kagome. One around her waist and one on the back of her head.

His silence was the only answer she needed. She clutched at his jacket and sobbed.

"no" she said threw her sobs "no ....its ....all ....my ....fault!"

Miroku stared at the girl lying at his feet.

'No.' he thought 'No. she couldn't be dead. She was to strong to die, to be killed by a demon.'

He picked her up and held her close to him

"Miroku" Shippo said but stopped a tear ran down the monks cheek and in to Sango's hair.

'she never finished her mission she never defeated Naraku to save her brother.' thought Miroku.

"Kohaku." he said aloud.

Kagome and Inu Yasha turned to look at him.

A another tear slid down his cheek.

"she never got to save Kohaku"

'never had they seen Miroku cry but here he was sobbing like a child

"Miroku ..." Kagome walked up to the monk and knelt beside him

"Kagome" said Inu Yasha.

Kagome turned Inu Yasha shook his head. Kagome placed a small kiss on the monks cheek then stood up and walked back to Inu Yasha and Shippo. Inu Yasha cast one more look at the monk then left him to morn the loss of the one he truly loved alone.
