chapter 1, first day
Kurama sat on a bench outside his school, finishing off what was left of his homework. Giggling could be heard nearby by some of his 'fans'. He glanced at them, forming a polite smile, which made them giggle more. He closed his book and walked to the entrance to the school. He reacked his classroom and took a seat in the front. He watched the Teacher take roll. When she was finished, she smiled. "Students, we have a new student, today. I would like you to meet miss Akemi Tsukino." She stepped to the side to let the new student who was standing behind her come into view. A girl with long, wavy brown hair tied back with a navy blue ribbon came into view. She wore the standard school uniform. "T-thank you, sensei", she stuttered, giving a slight bow. The teacher pointed to a seat adjacent to Kurama's. "Please sit, miss Akemi". Akemi took a seat. "Now, who would be so kind to help Akemi get to her classes?...oh! suuichi, why don't you?" she said, smiling at Kurama. He looked to her and nodded, giving Akemi a friendly smile. Akemi blushed and smiled shyly at him. (Author's note: no, she is NOT going to be paired with Kurama...he has that affect on every girl, ne? )
The bell rang, and Kurama waited at the door for Akemi, who then fallowed him. She showed him her schedule, and saw that they had the same classes. They walked down the hall to their first class, Math. Akemi took a seat near Kurama, and watched the teacher. Through all of their classes, Kurama soon realized how smart she was. She easily answered questions that were harder for everyone else to answer. He noticed that the other students resented her for this, shooting rude glances at her when she answered a question correctly, and smirking when she got them wrong after school .
Kurama walked with Akemi to her home after school. At the door, he smiled at her, brushing his hair from his eyes. "Akemi-chan, it was nice walking with you. Would you like me to walk you home tomorrow as well?" she shook her head a bit. "no, suuichi-san, I am sorry. Tomorrow I will not be going straight home." He frowned a bit as he heard this, mainly because the many girls who had a crush on him would undoubtedly stalk him to his home. (Poor kurama). Seeming a bit uneasy "well, Akemi, I suppose I will see you at school tomorrow?" "Hai" Akemi replied, opening the door and walking inside. "sayonara".
