AN- hiya I'm just going to tell you guys again that I'm extremely busy at the moment but there is only like 4 weeks to the holidays so hang on!!

Thank-you to all the reviewers. I do not own HP or any characters or anything like that (id be rich if I did though) JK Rowling is an amazing author. Did you guys see the interview on that she did recently, it was really good and there was a question asked about H/HR and she replies with something along the lines of – "I'm not telling but surely you've had enough hints already!" I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Anyway here we go!!

SIRIUS…harry fought as hard as he could about that memory and managed to stop Dumbledore from seeing more of his thoughts. Dumbledore looked over his half moon spectacles at Harry.

"You know Harry, one day it will stop hurting."

"I know professor but at the moment it feels like it will never stop." Harry looked Dumbledore in the eyes, he could tell him anything, including his feelings without feeling too embarrassed. Dumbledore surveyed Harry for a minute to see if he was ready to continue.

"Harry would you like to continue or stop for the night?"

"A couple more times should be fine Professor, honestly"

"1…2…3 Legilimens"

Once again Harry's life started flashing before his eyes, memories he didn't even know he had. The first few were once again of the Dursleys, being foul to him as usual. Then he was met with some new memories, 'the first time he had met Hermione, going to see Mcgonagall about the philosopher's stone when Dumbledore wasn't there. Quirell was telling him about Voldemort being on the back of his head. Harry's first potions lesson when Snape made him answer those questions and talking about him being a 'celebrity'. Hermione was petrified. Harry falling off his broom.'

Harry once again fought back feeling slightly embarrassed. He hadn't tried very hard that time, the truth was he liked seeing some of that stuff. Harry liked seeing the first time he met Hermione it made him feel happy watching those happy memories that he had forgotten about.

"Harry I need you to concentrate a lot more I know you can do better than what you are doing."

"Sorry professor"

"It's okay but from now on I want you to work harder. You also need to concentrate on clearing your mind before sleep. I need to go back to hogwarts but I will see you tomorrow."

"Goodnight professor." harry got up slowly and started walking up to his room.

"Goodnight harry." Dumbledore followed harry out but instead went into the kitchen where he found Minerva.

"I didn't realize he had suffered so much Minerva." Dumbledore sat down at the table opposite Minerva.

"Well he has lost his godfather Albus" she said roughly

"Yes but it's not just that. Those Dursleys, do you know what they did to him?"

"No" Minerva was intrigued. She had never bothered to ask.

"They let their son beat him up, they starved him, they made him do so many chores I'm surprised he didn't die from working so hard." Dumbledore said sadly.

"If I didn't know any better I would go around there myself and give them a piece of my mind…how dare they." Minerva was getting angry "why didn't he tell us."

"I don't know, he was treated so badly but then with Sirius being gone as well…you know I'm surprised he has been happy lately."

"Well…I have feeling Hermione has something to do with that."

"Yes she featured in a few of his memories."

"Of course you know of the situation with the Grangers being murdered. Together they have been dealing with their grief, supporting each other. I think it has helped each of them a lot."

"I meant to ask what happened between you and Harry this morning? He came in red and flustered and I told him that he could go and get dressed if he wanted. He mumbled something about you and not wanting to go get dressed." Dumbledore's twinkle had returned and he spoke with an amused voice.

"Oh that" McGonagall laughed "well it's a long story, basically I went to get him up this morning and he wouldn't answer so I went in. I found Hermione in bed next to him and he was so embarrassed oh you had to be there but the look on their faces."

"I imagine it would have been an embarrassing situation for Mr. Potter and Miss Granger." Dumbledore said wiping his eyes.

"Of course I knew there was nothing going on. I had been out every night in the last couple of weeks to check on Hermione and everynight found her in Potter's bed."

"Just keeping each other company and comforting each other I presume?"

"Yes I'm pretty sure that was all it was." Minerva said with a faint smile still on her face. "I'm sure Harry is gong to be fine Albus, especially while he is under my care"

"I'm sure he will be Minerva however you cannot stress yourself out, you are still unwell yourself."

"I'm perfectly fine" Minerva said irritably, She was quite sick of the fuss.

"Yes you are perfectly fine that is why you are still relying on your walking stick heavily," Dumbledore said with that twinkle in his eye.

"Look, if I am feeling unwell I promise to go and see poppy at Hogwarts, however I am not feeling unwell and people should leave me alone and worry about people who need to be worried about."

"I still think you should have another check up soon"

"Fine when I return to Hogwarts I will let poppy look me over, until then I need to get plans for my classes ready"

"You aren't returning to teaching already are you?"

"Yes of course I am there is no use sitting around here doing nothing. Now if you don't mind I have classes to plan."

"I will see you tomorrow night professor. Sleep well."

"You too Albus" the anger draining from her voice. Dumbledore flooed back to hogwarts and Minerva made her way upstairs for a good night's rest.

Hermione awoke before harry the next morning and walked down to breakfast by herself. As she entered the kitchen Hermione spotted her mother making pancakes.

"Mmmm they smell delicious mum" sitting down at the breakfast table. "Would you like any help?"

"No it's ok dear."

"Are you supposed to be cooking and stuff? I don't want you to have a relapse." Hermione asked concerned

"First Albus then you, I'm fine okay." Minerva was starting to feel a little annoyed again, anyway you were only hit with that curse weeks ago!

"I'm sorry but I care for you and I don't feel like I've been helping out enough lately. It hasn't been that long since you actually left St. Mungos."

"Well thank-you for you concern but I'm fine concentrate on yourself and harry at the moment." Mcgonagall turned to look at her daughter.

"I'm fine. I don't think Harry has really grieved though. He was too busy looking after me."

"Hmmm maybe but I'm sure he liked helping you, and harry deals with things differently. If anything, I think you and him going through the same thing has helped both of you."

"Yes I thought so too. I know it might sound bad… but I don't know… I'm kinda glad I had to go through the worst thing in my life with Harry. He knew how I felt."

"Do you want some pancakes?"

"Yea sure, do you want me to wake Harry?"

"We can make more. Plus I feel like I haven't really had a chance to talk to you since he arrived." Minerva put some sugar on her pancake.

"No we haven't. Yesterday morning doesn't exactly count."

"Have you finished your holiday homework?" Minerva thought Hermione might have neglected her homework since harry had arrived.

"Most of it, I only have potions and transfigurations to do." Hermione spread the golden syrup around on her pancake.

"Oh yes and what do you have to do for potions, being Severus I'm sure it is something ridiculously hard." Her lips tightening.

"not really, we have to write 600 words about the use of potions in the 18th century and how the goblins found out about potions during that time."

"I was always terrible at potions," Minerva said bitterly.

"what you mean is that it was your worst subject. You can't have been worse than Neville. He is so scared of professor Snape, he spills a potion when someone is just talking about him, I feel sorry him!"

"I can understand that, Severus breathing down anyone's neck would make them spill it."

Neither Hermione nor Minerva heard Severus Snape floo in; the tall dark man was standing in the fireplace.

"Yes well Neville is absolutely terrified of him. It's his worst class by far, but when I was talking to harry after the owls, he said Neville did really well in potions in front of the examiner."

"Not to mention the way he takes points of my Gryffindors. Did Harry tell you what happened when I got back from the hospital?" Hermione shook her head "no? Well I was walking into the entrance hall and Snape was taking points off Harry but there were none left in the Gryffindors hourglass so instead I added about 200."

Hermione snorted at this "the look on his face must have been priceless"

"Oh it was, it was" Minerva smirked

"It's terrible Harry and Ron will do nothing and the points will be taken off them."

"Yes well enough about Severus, all in all he is a good potions master, one of the best!"

Snape stepped out of the fireplace where he had been standing and in his usual silky, sarcastic voice let them know he was there. "Well now I know how you really feel Minerva, after that delightful conversation with your beloved daughter."

"Hello Severus how nice of you to join us" McGonagall said in the nicest voice she could come up with.
