To be honest I wasn't going to continue with the story I was thinking of removing it. I'm finding it hard trying to make sure I'm doing my very best at school and keeping any readers of my story happy by updating. Thank-you to all of you who have updated.
Hermione spent the next few days walking around in a daze. It was the day when she would learn of her parents' will. Hermione and harry left with Minerva early in the morning, Harry showing Hermione the same support and respect she had shown him only days earlier.
Upon arrival Hermione was surrounded by people – family, she didn't even know. Their reaction was always the same "Hello, how are you? What a silly question you must be devastated." Hermione was getting extremely tired of people who she didn't even know pretending to care, in their falsely sweet voices. There was one thing she was glad of though, that Harry was by her side the whole day, he never let go of her hand.
"Hermione?" Minerva said, quietly walking up to the girl "Are you ready?"
"Yes" she said determinedly.
"Then follow me." Hermione followed Minerva into a room off to the side. There were about 12 other people in the room, all of whom were aunts and uncles.
"Hermione dear! How are you holding up?" said a woman Hermione recognized as her mother's sister.
"I'm fine thanks."
The solicitor interrupted the conversation " if everyone is here we should get started"
"Yes. Yes of course." Said an older man in the room.
"Right then. We Anna Lynne Granger and John Robert Granger would firstly like to say sorry. Especially to Hermione, if you are reading this will we must have passed on and left you alone. If only one of us has died everything is to go to the other person. If we have passed onto another world together be happy, it's what we wanted.
Hermione, we are dearly sorry. You must believe us when we say we never wanted to ever hurt you, we always loved you especially for what you were, we were proud. Don't you ever stop to think that we may have regretted taking you in because we didn't." a murmur went around the room at this point, not many people knew that Hermione had been adopted. "We love you and always will. You will receive everything we own – the house, the jewelry and all our money.
To the other people in the room at this moment we loved you all as well. Look out for Hermione she will need your support." Hermione was silently crying, she didn't try to hide her tear strained cheeks.
"We ask that Hermione be left with none-other than Minerva McGonagall if she is ready to take on her responsibilities.
Once again we ask you to be happy and live your life knowing we loved you all and are extremely proud of our daughter. Anna and John."
The solicitor put down the will "well know that that is sorte-"
"Who on earth is this Maria McGilly person who is to take in Hermione. She can't go and live with a stranger." It was Aunt Harriet, Johns little sister.
"My name is Minerva McGonagall an-" but Hermione cut off Minerva.
"She is no stranger!" Hermione was red from anger, how dare someone question her parents requests. "She is Minerva, My teacher at school! The one who has been looking after me since they died, I haven't seen any of you come to see how I am or how I'm doing. SHE IS MY MOTHER!"
The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.
"What do you mean your mother?"
"I was adopted. Did they not tell you? Couldn't you see the difference?"
Minerva tried to explain "When my husband died I had Hermione adopted out the Granger's kindly agreed to take her in."
"I'm feeling a little tired can we go now?" Hermione said to Minerva while Harry tightened his grip on her hand.
"Yes we can. You two go grab your coats and I will sign for the property for you." Hermione and Harry left the room. As soon as the door had shut behind them Hermione broke down. Harry hugged her and whispered comforting words into her ears.
"Hermione it's ok. Minerva and I will do anything for you, you know that. They were probably jealous that we get such a smart witch to love us and live with us and they don't. I love you Hermione and I know it's hurting at the moment but it will get better. You gave me heaps of support a few days ago, even when you yourself were hurting and I intend to show you the same support."
"Oh Harry…I love you so much don't ever leave me. Ever!"
"I promise. Come on lets get our coats."
"Ok."
It wasn't long and Minerva, Harry and Hermione were back at Hogwarts. Harry and Hermione went for a walk while Minerva went to speak with Albus.
"Hello Minerva, how did it go?" Albus asked quietly
"As well as can be expected."
"Not to good then?"
"Not really. They were good people Albus they didn't deserve what happened to them" Minerva tried to stifle a sob. It wasn't like her to show too much emotion. "They loved Hermione a lot, I could tell by their will. What if…I can't give her the amount of love she needs, I was never her mother, more like the aunt who spoiled her." Minerva broke down and sobbed loudly. Albus made his way over to her so he was kneeling on the ground in front of her.
"Of course you can. I've seen the amount of love you show your students and I can see how much more you show Hermione. You will do a wonderful job molding her into a wonderful person in some of the most difficult years of her life."
"How do you always know what to say?" Minerva said tearfully
"When I'm with you it just comes naturally." He replied in barely more than a whisper. Minerva looked into those twinkling blue eyes that provided her with so much information. She could read him like a book just by looking into those eyes and at the moment all they showed was love.
"Albus I…" she was taking a big risk here. "I think I…" but she was spared saying anything more as she felt her colleagues' lips touch hers in a way she had been craving. They broke apart and Minerva was allowed to finish her sentence "I love you Albus Dumbledore"
"And I you Minerva McGonagall"
AN – What a sappy ending huh? Please review I know it's a bit short but I would appreciate it. I have to study for exams in 2 weeks so it could take a while for and update ill try hard though.
