You guys (the reviewers) are awesome I didn't really expect that much support to tell you the truth! I was thinking of kinda using the story as a study break. I can't tell you how much I love you all! (I'm being serious here!) I would much rather be doing this than learning algebra (urgh!) or physics (argh) so here we go a little bit of writing during study breaks can't hurt!
On with the story!
Minerva left Dumbledore's study feeling absolutely wonderful, she had never felt so good in her life. She did realize that her daughter was still hurting and while taking her seat next to her at dinner she tried to be a bit more sensitive. Minerva sat in between Albus and Hermione in her normal seat.
"How are you feeling Hermione dear?"
"Better."
"Are you sure? You seemed a bit upset today," she said quietly
"I'm fine it just sort of brought back some memories but I'm okay now. I was more angry and frustrated than sad."
"But everything is okay now?"
"Everything is fine," Hermione said smiling at Harry. "Harry made it all better."
"I'm sure he did" Minerva replied thoughtfully.
"Anyway" Hermione said brightly "Where were you all afternoon? I looked for you for a little while then gave up."
"I was just having a chat with professor Dumbledore" Minerva said innocently.
"Just a chat?"
"What are you implying?"
"What do you think I am implying?"
"We will talk about this later in private" Minerva whispered quietly as some of the staff had taken to listening to the banter between the mother and daughter.
"I'll come to your quarters later on then. That is if you aren't going to be too busy?" Hermione said so quietly no one but Minerva would have known she was speaking. Hermione had learnt at a young age that her mothers hearing wasn't all that bad – especially when an insult was being thrown her way.
Minerva reddened slightly, it didn't go unnoticed by the other people sitting around the table, especially the one who hadn't taken his eyes off her all evening. "If you promise to drop the subject now I will tell you later okay?"
"Okay" Hermione carried on eating her dinner like nothing had happened but Minerva was almost nervous about telling Hermione about Albus. He must have some how known what she had been thinking for at the moment she felt him squeeze her knee under the table, neither knew that Hermione and Harry had been watching the pair closely and had seen it all. Harry was thinking about what he had just witnessed. Usually when Dumbledore was supporting professor McGonagall he would just squeeze her shoulder lightly but not usually around her knee, that was definitely new. Hermione looked at Harry and gave him a look that said 'finally'.
Minerva left the table and told Hermione she could come whenever. Hermione had a second helping of chocolate cake for desert before leaving for her mother's rooms. Upon reaching the rooms Hermione entered.
"Hi" Hermione said brightly.
"Oh good you're here. I have to talk to you about something."
"Really?" Hermione said smiling as she sat in the most comfortable armchair.
"Yes…uh it is about professor Dumbledore" Minerva said nervously sitting on the couch.
"Professor Dumbledore? Yes I think I know him" Hermione was having a great time watching Minerva squirm trying to tell her something she was absolutely fine with.
Minerva glared at Hermione. "Well this afternoon we…ah…found that we were…ah…rather fond of each other."
"Did you kiss him professor?" Hermione said grinning slightly.
"I am discussing this with my daughter not my student" Minerva said coldly.
"Sorry…did you kiss him mum?" the smile had returned to Hermione's face
"And that, is none of your business!" Minerva replied with a small smiling playing on her lips.
"Oh you did! I'm so happy for you! It took you long enough!"
"What do you mean?"
"Don't give me that, everyone knows the stories that flew around the school about you two!"
"What stories?"
"Oh it doesn't matter they weren't very good anyway. Can I go now I want to go tell Harry…it is ok if I tell Harry isn't it?"
"I don't see why not"
"Okay, well I'll see you later then. Bye"
"Bye dear" Hermione left the rooms in search of Harry.
There was only a week until the rest of the school arrived. Harry had grown used to wandering around by himself or with Hermione without being interrupted.
"Harry! Harry!" Hermione ran up from behind and hugged him. Harry loved it when she did that, it made him feel so loved. Harry turned in her arms so he could hug her back.
"Hi Hermione."
"I love you Harry. I'm so glad we found each other while we were young, it means we'll have longer together."
"I never thought of it like that. So…are they together?" Harry asked curiously.
"Yea…the two fools it took them long enough."
"Well…some would say the same about us."
"I suppose. But we are together now" Hermione leaned in closer to Harry. Harry could feel Hermione's breath on his lips a quickly pressed his to hers and he had to admit…it felt good!
AN- only a short chapter that one! I'd like to bring Ron into the next one I think. Just out of curiosity have any of you seen 'Love Actually' the movie with all the famous people in it. It has two Harry potter actors that I know of – Emma Thompson (Trelawny) and Alan Rickman (Snape) Rickman is an amazing actor I mean he's great at Snape but after you've seen him playing a totally different part he's amazing! He sounds the same but looks really different. Just thought I'd tell you that!
