"It's a simple enough answer. Do you, or do you not still love me?"
"Yes," he whispered.
She sighed.
"What about you?"
"Of course I do," she murmured, her voice so soft he barely heard her, "I've never gotten over you...."
"I have to see you. Now."
"Angel...we both know..."
"Screw what we know! What about what we feel?"
"When did you become the act first think later type? We're busy here, and I bet you're busy there...we can't."
He sighed, "You're right. I...I am busy here."
"Maybe after everything...we could see each other. But not now. I-I don't think I could deal with everything, and seeing you...and not being able to touch you..." she whispered the last part, her voice trailing off.
"I know. After." She could almost see him nodding.
"I...love you."
"I love you too, Buffy."
"Bye."
"Bye," he whispered and waited until her heard the click of the phone being replaced on the other end.
