Disclaimer: How much times do I need to repeat myself? I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho!
I will like first of all to thank my reviewers: Dark Prince of the Sun, Madame Arrow Foxfire, Crazy Queen 101, Arach and Hiei Girl 003. I am sorry that the intro chapter was a bit boring, but I have edited it, added a bit more, and have spaced it out to the best of my ability.
Secondly, I would like to apologize for the very long wait for this chapter. It seemed that the whole of this term there were unexpected tests, projects, assignments etc., and now I am in the middle of 16 final exams, I'm cramming like hell and I am failing with flying colours. But now, onto the story.
Chapt:1"Okay, first of all, what the hell is going on?"
It was then Koenma took a good look at them for the first time. He looked at Yusuke and first took note of his spiked hair. Wait a second. Spiked hair? Since when did Yusuke do anything to his other than grease it back? But then he noticed something else about both Yusuke and Kuwabara.
They looked a bit older, no longer looking like teenagers, but more like young adults. They felt more powerful and something was a bit different about the aura around Yusuke. He tried to sense their power a little bit more, and felt something constrained within Yusuke.
It was strong, so strong that Koenma began to think that Yusuke had sought out training from Reiki masters. No, Yusuke was too lazy to actually go out and willingly train or work. But still, Koenma couldn't deny that feeling. It was feeling that shouted dangerous, didn't feel threatening but it still puzzled him.
He then turned his attention to Kuwabara. Koenma has never known Kuwabara all that well to make any assumptions, but nevertheless, he knew that Kuwabara had remarkable sixth sense, but his spirit energy was very high, a bit much for someone whose supposed to haven't had any training with spirit energy before.
Something was wrong with this picture, Koenma knew for sure. He then remembered how Yusuke looked, when he saw them watching the video of his next mission. And he knew one thing for sure. Yusuke did not look like this. And Koenma concluded. This was not the Yusuke he knew. The million dollar question: So who was this Yusuke standing before him?
Koenma thought of all possibilities.
How was all this possible, he wondered. The Yusuke he knew didn't have this much power. Unless, this wasn't him. But he certainly looked a lot like him, had a spirit signature exactly the same, and he had the attitude, temper and certainly the rude mouth. Was he from the future? No, the sensors monitoring time shifts hadn't gone off yet. He had speakers directly linked to them. And when they went off, his ears rang for several days. Unfortunately, there wasn't a volume control. But back to the subject. They had mentioned a portal demon? Were they from another reality? It explains a lot. The journey between portals distorts time. But for a demon to have this much power to send not only to another reality, but also to another time in that reality would require an amplifier of some sort. Portals such as those could pass through spirit world sensors.
"Well?" asked Yusuke, with a hint of annoyance.
"Did he use any sort of amplifier?"
"Who?" At this point Yusuke was starting look really annoyed.
"The demon you were chasing."
"Your point?" Yusuke was starting to look, well, quite angry.
"An amplifier used by a portal demon can enable him to send you to a different dimension, and by using an amplifier, he could have sent you to a time as well."
Then Kuwabara said something smart (for once, as Yusuke would put it)
"Yeah. There was a weird ring he put on his finger."
Koenma thought for a second.
"I think I know what's going on."
"No! That's why we've been spending a whole freaking hour here to try figure out nothing!"
Koenma glared at Yusuke's sarcasm
"Do understand the concept of alternate dimensions?"
BlinkBlink
Koenma sighed.
"Alternate dimensions are created by each decision we make, and the decisions we could've made. Let's say you picked choice A over choice B, not produced a negative outcome that got you in serious trouble. Right there, two dimensions are created where in the other, you picked choice B, and totally different outcomes are created. In spirit world, the term used to describe the change in dimensions from a single decision is called a ripple effect. Also, the fact that there is a Yusuke Urameshi in this dimension, and both seem to be sprit detectives, suggests that the ripple effect caused by the decision, what ever it was, was recent. But that same decision may have prevented Kuwabara from knowing of the spirit world. "
"What! So where am I now?"
"You're at school, with no knowledge of the spirit world."
"What!!!"
"So the real question is, what's different?" was Koenma's final question to them. But before any sort of answers, Koenma got reception on his TV screen, and on the screen was a teenage Yusuke Urameshi, and Botan at Tarukane's stronghold as well as younger Toguro, collapsing in defeat.
