A/N: This is my first story on ff.net and this may sound stupid but I have
NO idea how to get this spaced out. If you could let me know it would be
greatly appreciated! I realize its really squished together and hard to
read. I'm experimenting with different things, let me know if it gets
spaced out ^^;;
Harry Potter, who was now ready to start his 6th year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, stepped into Diagon Alley. He had grown quite a bit over the summer and was becoming a handsome young man, although the Dursley's would never admit to that. His jet-black hair was the same as usual, long and un-kempt. His robes were quite a bit shorter than he liked them, but he could always buy some new ones, he supposed. The young wizard dragged his trunk along the streets looking into windows and watching people. Hedwig squawked angrily in her cage, very un-happy with Harry. It wasn't his fault that the Dursley's threw him out... ok so it was, but it was unintentional. Dudley's unexpected trip down the stairs wasn't planned, Dudley just tripped over Harry's foot was all.
"Oh well," He sighed looking around. He had sent an owl to the Weasley's and they said they would pick him up here after a bit of school shopping.
Diagon Alley was quite packed, everyone was school shopping. Harry stopped to admire the newest Quidditch products when he ran into a tall young man with fiery red hair.
"Sorry," he mumbled then realized who it was. "George!"
"Watch it Harry, wouldn't want to hurt someone." George smirked.
"Nice to see you!" Harry said looking past Georges shoulder, "Where's Ron?"
"Ah he is back there, arguing with Mum," Fred said as he walked up. "Something about books." He shrugged.
"Thanks," Harry said half running to see Ron; his trunk, broom, and Hedwig's cage clattering behind him.
"Harry! Good to see you dear," Mrs. Weasley said as soon as she spotted him, although she looked less than happy with Ron.
"Nice to see you too," Harry said back.
"Harry!" Ron said turning around to face him, "Haven't seen you all summer!" His face was still quite red from arguing with his mother, but he had also grown quite a bit over the summer. Ron seemed to have grown into his height; he wasn't the lanky teen he used to be.
"What did you expect Weasley? He lives with muggles." A familiar voice said, Harry looked past Ron to see none other than Draco Malfoy; but for some reason, he looked different to Harry. No, it wasn't Draco himself it was his company. Crabbe and Goyle were nowhere to be seen. He had someone else about his age; only this boy was taller and less blonde than Draco. Plus, this boy was somewhat attractive but he had the same stupid hairstyle.
"Shut up Malfoy," Ron said also looking at the stranger.
"You have more than two friends? Wow I'm surprised Draco." Hermione Granger said as she walked up and greeted her two friends. Draco scowled.
"You think you know everything don't you?" He and the boy smirked, "This is Corey. I wouldn't expect you to know him."
"Corey... the new captain of Slytherin's Quidditch team?" Ron said looking Corey up and down.
"Yes, and just so you know. We're going to win the House Cup this year, so don't get too excited." He smirked as the two Slytherins walked away laughing.
"Humph, that's what they think," Hermione said as she rolled her eyes. "So how are you guys?"
"Stupid git," Ron said still staring after them.
"Ah, Ron forget them," Harry said also watching their retreating backs, "Everyone knows Gryffindor will win."
Hermione pulled out her school supply list and stared to read it. "I still need to pick up a few books." She said looking around, "Why don't we stop at Florish and Blotts?" Ron and Harry sighed, with Hermione they'd be there all day but went with her anyway. As they walked into the store Hermione wandered out of sight, toward a section that had nothing to do with their schoolbooks. Ron winced looking at the price of the new potions book but picked it up anyway.
Harry picked up his copy of the potions book as a blonde girl made her way past. She then backed up and stopped looking at Harry for a second, "Aren't you Harry Potter?"
"Uh, yes I am." Harry said a little surprised, "Do I know you?
"Oh you might, I'm a sixth year Gryffindor as well." She held out her small pale hand, "I'm Lila, Lila Lewis." Harry slowly shook her hand, Lila was an attractive girl, she had long dirty blonde hair and big light brown eyes.
"Nice to meet you." She smiled turning to Ron. "That must make you Ron Weasley?" Ron blinked, "Yeah...how do you know me?"
Lila smiled, "Well you two and Hermione are the most famous Gryffindor's to come along since Godric Gryffindor himself."
This remark made Ron blush, "Aw, no I-I'm not famous." He stammered and paused, "You know Hermione?"
"Oh yes, I know her very well we have been neighbors since we were five." Lila said. Harry caught himself staring at her; he quickly looked down at his potions book. The girl peered out the window and looked quite surprised, "Well my friends have found me, I must be off." Lila said as she shifted the books that were in her arms. "Very nice meeting you two."
"Yeah, you too," said Ron.
"Ah, yeah," Harry said quickly looking away again.
"Bye!" She waved, and with that left the store. Harry stared after her.
"Harry I'm famous!" Ron laughed slightly. "Well, it was nice of Hermione to introduce us." He said in a sarcastic tone. "Harry?"
"Ah, Yeah?" Harry said quickly looking at Ron. "So where is Hermione?"
"I'm right here!" She said rushing toward them breathlessly and carrying an armload of books. "Are you two ready yet?"
"Uh-not yet," Ron said looking at all the books she was holding. "We just met one of your friends though." Hermione looked surprised,
"Oh?"
