"If he fires that gun one more time I'm going to let one loose on him." A very annoyed Lara Croft growled, looking up from her typing.
Chase Carver glanced over at her and smiled amused. "Now now, take it easy love." he grinned, looking back at his newspaper.
"Damn thing is about to put me over the wall." she continued to mutter. "I told you Chase, I told you we shouldn't of bought that damn Playstation."
Chase folded his newspaper up and turned back to his wife, "Lara, he's only 9 years old. Give him a break. He's your own bloody son."
Lara stared at him for a moment only to glare at him and turn back to her work. "Yes," she began, starting to type again, "but why did you have to set the bloody thing up in MY study?"
Chase laughed, "Red, if it bothers you that much I'll set it up in his room."
"That would be nice." Lara snickered.
Chase glanced down at his sandy haired son. "Matthew?" he called. "Would you mind terribly coming here for a second?"
Lara watched as Chase shooed his son out of the room and began disconnecting the Playstation. Chase looked up at her.
"What?" he asked.
"Nothing." Lara spat whipping back around to her work.
"PMSing?" he grinned, loving to see her agitated.
"No." she said flatly.
"You know, I could help you out if that's your problem."
Lara turned and glared at him. "You know, two times in my life I have been in love with you Chase Carver. But slowly you are taking that love to new lows every day."
"Is that why you still prefer to call yourself 'Lara Croft' or 'Lady Croft'?" he asked getting annoyed with her too.
"That was way out of line." Lara glared.
"So was what you said." Chase glared back.
"I'm only telling the truth."
"And I'm only pointing out the truth." His eyes narrowed at her.
Lara stared at him for another moment. "I want you out by morning."
"What?" Chase asked.
"It's my Manor. I want you out." she said flatly once more returning to her papers.
"You can't do that." Chase began to walk towards her.
Lara turned and tilted her head towards him. She then stood up to face him when he reached her chair. "Try and stop me."
Chase backed her into a corner and slammed her forcefully against the study's wall. "You may be strong Lara Croft, but you still aren't as strong as me."
Lara continued to glare at him.
Chase stared at her for a moment before leaning in and forcefully kissing her. Lara pushed him off of her.
"Damnit Chase. No, not again. That doesn't work anymore." She turned away from him and began to walk out of the room. "I don't want to be with you. I don't want to be around you. And I sure as hell don't want to love you anymore."
Chase stood still in the middle of the room, broken hearted by her words. Finally he found the words to speak again, "So in other words, you don't give a damn about me anymore."
"I will always care about you Chase, I just don't like who you've become." she spoke stopping at the door to give him one last look before finally slipping perminately out of his life.
