Author's Notes: Uh, yeah, well, I have no real excuse for this. I just re- watched 'Pitch Black' last week, and I'm hooked, and I watched it yet again today with a friend, and this just sorta popped into my head. Points at Izzy it's her fault, I swear. Or maybe I'm just broody. Anyway, yeah, so it's a long drabble, short ficlet, bordering on fluff, but not quite.

Disclaimer: If I owned them, do you think Chronicles of Riddick would not be out yet? Or that Jack would be so young? Or – I'll stop there. They're not mine, and I'm broke. Please don't sue smiles sweetly

Dedication: Teek, one day, you will be in this position. Be warned.

She stirred as a blanket was dropped over her. Her eyes opened; she gazed blearily up at him.

"Is something wrong?" she croaked hoarsely. She'd not had enough water to drink over the past few days. "Has someone found us?"

"No, nothing's wrong," he assured her. "Go back to sleep."

She sat up, the blanket slipping off her shoulders. "Where are we?"

"In the middle of nowhere, just like last time you asked."

"Sorry." She pulled the blanket closer around her, shivering. "Aren't you gonna get any sleep?"

"I will. Later. Got to keep an eye on the navi computer." He brushed her hair behind her ear. "Go back to sleep."

"Don't leave me?"

"You know I won't."

"I mean – until I go to sleep. Stay here?" She lay down, fingers linking with his, and tugged him onto the bunk. He joined her, moving his limbs to fit hers, wrapping his arm securely about her rounded stomach. She sighed contentedly as he rubbed gently.

"Been having much fuss out of him?"

"No, she's been very well behaved," she smiled. "A few kicks. She's impatient to be out."

"Well, he'll be out soon enough."

"She."

"He."

"She, and we're naming her Isabel."

"He, and over my dead body. My social worker was called Isabel."

"Really? What happened to her?"

"Uh. Well. Um."

"Oh. Sorry I asked." She rolled over to face him. "What makes you so sure it's a boy?"

"Why are you so sure it's a girl?" he countered.

She shrugged. "Dunno." She snuggled close to him. "Hey, if it is a girl...if it is a girl, how 'bout we call her Carolyn?"

He tilted his head, looking at her with shined eyes. "Yeah. She would have liked that."

She smiled. "Love you, Riddick."

"Love you, Jack." He paused. "But it's going to be a boy."
