Marching Memories

So many memories
Forged from marching in circles
While playing cheesy oldies
And mocking the drum major

So much was learned
Throughout the past four years
From roll-stepping to crops style
Nothing was taken for granted

So many laughs
From McDonalds to Subway
Between gummi worms and gum
Some things won't be forgotten

So many tears
Disappointment, betrayal, heartbreak
It seems as though it will never stop
Until there comes a well-timed hug

So much work
More memorization every day
Names, music, field markings
Yet, so much fun

So little sense
Dropping instruments and folders
Running after fallen music
Laughing at the little things

So many people
Friends, enemies, forgotten faces
People you grow to love with time
People you can't forget

So hard to forget
The mosquitoes and the bird poop
The blisters and the sunburn
Although you wouldn't want to forget
