A/n why is it that I always get story ideas in the middle of an episode? For all those who hated the ending of Wrath, where that stalker who hated Livia was in, I have a viewpoint for Elliot. I kinda hate how she wouldn't answer to my hottie Stabler. I totally understand though. Glares at all reading HE'S MINE!

Her Best Interest

Elliot stared at his cell, and tried to reach Olivia again. It was close to three in the morning, and he hadn't been able to reach her. He was sitting up in the living room at home, so as not to disturb his wife, Kathy. He glanced at the clock and sighed. "Looks like I have to go in person." He said quietly to himself as he pulled on hi trench coat.

Pulling up to her apartment he tried to phone her once more. HE knew she was home, because her car was there. He also knew why she wouldn't answer the phone. Climbing out of the car into the pouring rain, he shoved his phone in his pocket and sprinted to the door. Taking a moment to shake the water out of his coat, he knocked on the door and waited.

A few minutes went by and nothing happened. He heard he sniff a few times and considered kicking the door in to get to his partner, but immediately dismissed the idea. She had told him that she'd give him the extra key to her apartment just as soon as she remembered to bring it to work. Until then, he couldn't kick her door in. She'd be mad as hell and probably wouldn't appreciate him coming at all.

He knocked on the door again and called to her. "Liv I'm sorry! I know I betrayed you! But it was for your own good! I just didn't want to lose you. You're my partner and above all, my best friend. I didn't want that to die. There was a good reason for my worry though. Had his gun been loaded, that lady would've died with him! Liv!" he yelled, to no avail. He was lucky to have been let into the building, except for the fact that one of the neighbors had let him in, recognizing him as Liv's partner.

Shaking his head sadly, he slipped his phone into his pocket again and walked off, head down to hide the tears pouring from his eyes. Inside, he knew he had no reason to be ashamed of himself, as he was. But his mind couldn't convince his heart of this. It was for her best interest. His best friend, for her life. Her best interest.

End A/n if this didn't make much sense to you, watch the episode Wrath. You'll understand the whole betrayal thing. For those of you who've read some of my other works, what do you think? I know this is a really short story, and I'm sorry about it. It made me think though, when I watched the episode.
