AN: this is the first major work of fiction I've ever written. Constructive criticism is welcome, but please do not set the reviews a blaze with negativity, Im trying dammit.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's get this show on the road.
Prologue: The Omitted Inception.
In the beginning, there was nothing, not in the way one might think, but rather in a more abstract concept of nothing. There was no light yet there was also no darkness. One could compare it to an incomprehensible fog, or mist, that obscured something that didn't exist, like curtain without a window, or a bag of potato chips that contains only air and zero chips. before time was considered time and existence was considered existence, there was only the fog and the fog was all there was. However that would change.
From the fog emerged the first great being, the progenitor of that was, is, and will be, the eternal dragon. But the eternal was merely the first, not long after its existence was self imposed, others followed. After the eternal came numerous abstract entities, nameless, indescribable, and incomprehensible as they were aberrant. Such entities were nameless for a reason. Being the first, the eternal dragon saw fit to exterminate the aberrations that challenged him for his newfound domain. It would defend its rightful claim like a territorial animal.
The aberrations stood no chance, their attempt to obtain what wasn't theirs would fail utterly. It was a short and one-sided war, or rather a slaughter. The soft, tendriled, and eldritch bodies of the nameless aberrations were shredded asunder by the great dragons' mighty claws and jaws. Their tentacles slapped fruitlessly against its shimmering scales as others were either impaled on its crown of horns, or incinerated by its celestial flames that it spat from it's maw. One by one the nameless entities fell and were consumed whole by the eternal dragon, it's power growing as it devoured entity after entity. The more power it gained the more conscious and aware it became.
Upon the consumption of the last nameless thing, the dragon had knowledge of all concepts and wisdom in all subjects, it understood why it birthed itself and what purpose it conceived itself for. The power it had amassed was beyond comprehension and beyond measure, surpassing terms such as infinite of omnipotent. It's power was eternal, a fitting term. With its mind set on a singular goal, the now truly eternal dragon spread its four pairs of wings and extended its three tails. The dragon focused its beyond limitless power and and compressed the ancestral fog into a singular point within its claws. Upon removing its grip the singular point burst and expanded into a great black void that encompassed all, thus creating the fabric of reality. And presiding over this new blank canvas was the eternal dragon.
As soon as the eternal dragon laid the foundation for what would support an ever expanding amount of realities and timelines, the first primordials and creator gods would rise from the void. the newborn deities gathered around the great eternal dragon who opened his palms and bestowed upon them the principles of creation. It gave them authority over concepts such as time, space, matter, and thought, only the dragon itself had greater authority. Upon imparting its grand wisdom to the fledgling gods it spoke. It's voice boomed, filled with power unfathomable, like thousands of stars simultaneously imploding. It had one but one command, a singular phrase it spoke for all to hear.
"Go forth, do what you must."
And so they, light sprang forth, universes formed, within them galaxies, and within the galaxies were stars and planets. Within what seemed like days, billions of years passed, species evolved and went extinct as the gods experimented with their gift. However, as the primordial creators toiled away in their respective domains a great evil would emerge from the fabric. With every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, a statement that applies to everything including the divine. Out of the fabric came forth a great destroyer, a hideous beast possessing multiple heads, limbs, and tails. It's very existence seemed like an oxymoron, it's very presence would tear reality apart, leaving no trace in its wake. The beast was envious of the eternal, for the eternal had the ability to create, the beast did not. It went on a wicked rampage across reality, Indiscriminately destroying the eternal's domain out of sadistic and jealous spite.
The great eternal dragon did not take this slight against itself sitting down. No, it would face the challenger that jeopardized the future of its grand canvas. The first true dragon god clashed with the primal beast of entropy over the fate of reality. For a thousand days and a thousand nights the two great entities fought, spitting fire and lightning at a cosmic scale as the lesser divines sat innocent to the duel that would decide existence. At last the eternal dragon prevailed struck down the beast, shattering it into a million pieces that were scattered across all creation. The dragon god knew the beast had not perished, for as long as it existed the beast would as well and as long as the beast existed the eternal would in turn.
He knew that the gods he had guided would struggle against such a monster that was the entropic beast, much less an army of them. In order to preserve the creative space from erasure, the dragon god would have to break his unspoken oath, to not intervene. Peeling several glistening scales from his body, focusing his eternal power into them, they became their own. The great race of dragons were born, each unique and special in their own respective way. He scattered them across creation. They were to be guardians, to ensure the fragments of the entropic beast would never fuse and threaten the balance again. Nothing ever goes as planned, no plan ever goes as intended. Perfection is an unachievable concept. No being, However conceptual it may be, can be perfect, even the eternal dragon was aware of such a fact. That simple fact applied to all things, including the dragons. Over the millenniums the dragons would lose their way and forget their original purpose, preferring to hoard valuables and in worse cases, terrorize the very worlds they were meant to protect.
Many of the resident gods were infuriated by the seemingly unwarranted appearance of the dragons. Many were massacred, demonized and in rare cases enslaved. flawed as they were, the dragons were still extremely powerful creatures, so in turn they were also deified, and respected as such. Some dragons even achieved godhood, leading pantheons and devote followers. However only two ever attained true dragon god status. The relationship between the dragons and the the other races could have been considered strained at best, and it would stay as such for longer.
The eternal dragon was not fazed by the turn of events. No, in fact it expected something similar occur from inception.
It had created a race of sentient creatures, such creatures by nature possess free will as a trait of conscious thought. It was of no consequence, the dragons could hold their own without his intervention. However the shards of entropy were still a problem, a problem that had begun to rear its ugly head again and again. The entropic beast was still very much at large, even in pieces, it had a great influence. The shards gave of swathes of negativity, it was putrid and corruptive. The eternal had glimpses of atrocities and heinous crimes committed from the influence of the shards. The first dragon had to act, it had to make another attempt to intervene.
The last time the eternal dragon broke its unspoken oath ended in disaster and damaged many relationships with the gods. He had been expunged from many a tale due to the destruction his ilk had caused. But the great dragon had little use for clout, it was far beyond the need for such. No, the dragons new plan would pivot off his failure. The dragon shed some of it's great scales and formed them into an item, said item had a portion of the dragons eternal power and a tether for its conscience. The item was to be a weapon, a divine armament, based of the creations of Yahweh.
Yahweh, one of the eldest of the first gods, presided over one of the most central and important universe in all creation. The god had created divine weapons and gifted them to the mortals of his domain, this was an inspiration for the eternal dragon's contingency plan. The dragon's relationship with the god was now nonexistent due to the eternals previous transgression. However the central importance of Yahweh's domain made it vulnerable, it was the ideal place for the eternal to introduce its grand new plan. Said plan was for the divine weapon the drain had constructed to be bestowed upon a mortal, preferably a dragon or one of dragon heritage. Upon awakening said weapon, the host would become the eternal's avatar and maintain balance in the universe and beyond.
Theoretically the plan was foolproof, but the eternal had to wait and see. When the artifact was awakened, it would make contact with the host and confirm if it was willing to participate in such a monumental task. The great dragon went dormant waiting for the moment of contact, drifting into a deep hibernation, only reaching out to the conduit within the artifact to confirm it still existed. Tens of thousands of years passed, the eternal dragon slipped further into legend, relegated to myth. Ironically becoming myth among creatures that would become myths themselves. Nevertheless, the only creatures that still knew of it existence were the dragons. the dragons would worship their ancestor, the progenitor of their kind. It would go by many names: Ancestral one, the dragon beyond dragons, the true dragon god emperor, the eternal, the celestial wyrm, master of reality, and many more. Each title gave a glimpse to the power the dragon held.
But one name was revered above all else, a singular word the represented the the unknowable might of its bearer, the true name of the eternal dragon.
Bahamut.
AN: And so a saga begins, my first real story. I know it's kind of short for a prologue, that's because don't wanna reveal to much and ruin major plot points later. An now the funny story behind this story. I'm not an a big anime guy but I have seen a few, like jojo. So a friend of mine made my watch this anime, this just so happened to be none other than DxD. The only reason I picked it up is that my friend said it was "Edgy". However come to my surprise and confusion I was met with a weapons grade dose of booba. It would later be revealed that my friend had said "Ecchi" and not edgy like my Dumbass, monolingual, American ass had thought.
Ecchi, for those of you who don't know a lick of another language, much like myself, is Japanese for borderline pornographic. But that's besides the point, your boy got hooked. Sure I'm a healthy human male, I see tiddies; I like. However that's not why I watched it, the lore. The amount of world building and power-scaling is god tier. The amalgamation of every religion, the history of all the different races, and how they interact is remarkable. The further I dove the more expansive it got, I even read the books, whatever they're called, dredging the vast ocean of suggestive material fore more lore. My creative juices were flowing.
I had one of my greatest ideas I've ever conceived, write a story involving the most broken character to ever be written and his exploits in the world of mammoth mammaries and a supernatural Cold War.
Sure it's as cringe as it sounds but the idea evolved into not only implementing that character, but also expanding the lore to fit said character in a well written way. I also wanted to use this to parody common tropes in a comedic way that only an uncultured American can.
Fair warning, this story contains extreme violence, sexual content, excessive cursing, a soundtrack that will make your parents head-bang, and lots of memes.
Stay tuned for the first chapter of this shitpost of a story, see you later.
