Juan's POV...

In a house in the suburbs, I was wearing my clothes which consists of a white short-sleeved shirt, a short light brown trench, a black long sleeve glove that covers all the way up to my right elbow, dark blue cargo pants with my police badge strapped onto my belt, a gun holster on the other side of my belt, a blue tie, and tactical running shoes.

Once I finished, I went to a mirror and double-checked if everything is in order.

"Looks like everything is in order," I said to myself in thought,

After that, I went to the dining room and found two of my younger sisters eating their breakfast that I prepared earlier.

Their names are and Christine and Liza Martinez.

Christine is a 19-year-old high school student, has long black hair that reaches all the way to her shoulders, brown eyes and her clothes consist of a gray hoodie jacket, a short-sleeved shirt, a black school skirt, and leather shoes.

As for Liza, She's a 10-year-old elementary student with short black hair, blue eyes, and her clothes consist of a smaller white short-sleeved shirt, a beanie that covers her entire forehead, a smaller black school skirt, and leather shoes.

"You're off to work, Big Brother?" Liza asked as she noticed my uniform,

"Of course. Today's my first day as a Detective," I replied while I pat her a couple of times,

"Does that mean you won't be able to pick us up after school today?" Christine asked,

"Not really, Sis. If I have the time, I can stop by and pick both of you up after school," I replied, "If not, Then you could give a call to uncle to have him pick both of you,"

I went to the kitchen, made myself a small sandwich to eat, and finished it all.

Afterward, I approached my sisters and gave them separate kissed on their heads before I head out the door.

"I'll be going now! And remember to take care of each other, avoid talking to strangers, and call me if there's an emergency," I said while I was about to head straight to the door until...

"Hey, Juan!" Christine called out,

"Yeah, Sis?" I asked and I receive a grin from her,

"Love you!" She said playfully,

I chuckled at this and smiled back at her,

"Love you too. But seriously, just call me when it's really an emergency," I reminded, and this time I went out the door without my sisters calling for my name again.

Grimsborough Police Department

I arrived at the Police Department riding a motorcycle that I bought last year and parked it at the motorcycle parking space.

Then, I removed my helmet and strapped it onto the bike's handlebar. Once the helmet's strap is secured to the handlebar, I walked my way to the entrance of the Police Department.

When I entered the police department police officers were working at their desks, taking their break in the break room, and some even greeted me as I walked my way into my desk.

But one particular officer wearing a light blue shirt, a blue-gray necktie, black pants with a black belt approached me with a friendly smile.

"So, you're my new partner I'm having, Right?" He asked,

"That's right. The Name is Juan, Juan Martinez," I introduced, offering a handshake to him,

"David Jones," He introduced as he shook my hand, "And you don't have to worry about giving handshakes to people. Everyone barely does it around here,"

"I'll keep that in mind," I said,

"But introductions asides, you're going to be thrown in the field quick though," Jones said, "There's a report that young woman was found dead at the town entrance. You and I will go to the crime scene and look for clues of the murder,"

After the introductions, Jones and I went to a squad car with the former at the driver's seat, turning on the sirens, and drove to the crime scene.

Later...

We arrived at our designated location. There was police tape that was strapped around the area and police officers keeping civilians away from the crime scene.

Jones and I ducked under the tape and enter the scene.

"I'll go talk to the other officers to see if we have any suspects while you go and search the area for something suspicious.

I nodded as Jones went to the officers while I went to the victim's body. The Victim's Name was Rosa Wolf, she was wearing a cheerleader outfit, had blond hair, and she has a deep gash across her neck.

Soon, I looked around and spotted a bloody knife on the ground. I went to it, picked it up with my gloved hand, and placed it inside a plastic evidence bag. Then I spotted a torn shirt with bloodstains, picked it up, and placed it in another evidence bag.

"So, what did you find, Rookie?" Jones asked as he walked back to me,

"Well, The Killer wasn't too bright since he just left the murder weapon lying on the ground, and I also found a torn-up shirt that has some blood stains onto it," I said as I showed him the knife and the torn fabric.

"Not bad for your first investigation, Rookie. But we better get this girl for an autopsy," Jones said, "By the way, can you put the pieces of the shirt back together?"

"Hmph! Just watch me when we get back to the station," I said,

Back at the Station...

"Told you, Jones," I said as I showed him the newly sown shirt with a number nine logo onto it.

"I'm impressed, and it looks like this belongs to our killer," Jones said,

"What makes you say that?" I asked,

"I used to play football back in high school, and pretty much everyone had spares in case something happened," Jones stated the obvious for me,

"Oh... I almost forgot about that," I said while rubbing the back of my head,

"But anyway, let's go to the Forensics Lab and see the results of our victim," Jones said,

"Lead the way," I said,

With Jones leading the way for me since it's my first time in the station. I arrive in the Forensics Lab in no time. There I saw an Indian-American man with black hair, wears red glasses that conceal his dark gray eyes, a blue V-Neck T-shirt underneath a lab coat with the logo 'Coroner' on the left side of his coat.

He was just finishing up the results of the autopsy. But soon, notices Jones and I approach him.

"Hey Nathan," Jones greeted,

"Hello Jones," Nathan greeted back then turns to me, "I assume that this is your new partner?"

"Why yes, he is," Jones replied,

"Juan Martinez, Nice to meet you," I introduced myself,

"Likewise," Nathan said,

"So anyway. What have you got for us, Nathan?" Jones asked,

"I studied the wound on the victim's neck, and I can tell you for sure that the killer is right-handed," Nathan explained, "I'll add this info to your file,"

"Thanks, Nathan," I said,

"Also, The Chief is also calling for both of you in his office," Nathan said,

Jones and I took a detour to the Chief's office after we had left the lab. Once we arrive at the door, Jones knocks on it a couple of times and both of us entered the room simultaneously.

"Welcome to Grimsborough, Detective Juan. I'm Samuel King, the Chief Police Officer," He greeted, then his expression quickly changed into a serious one, "And I am here to inform you and Jones that according to a witness, a killer was seen wearing a blue cap,"

"Thank you, Chief. Jones and I will see to it that we check out the suspects matching the profile," I said,

After we've received the information from the Chief. Jones and I went back to our desks and pulled out the profiles of the suspects.

The first picture belongs to a Local Gang Member by the name of Ash Bison, and the other was a Football Player, Matt Barry. Both pictures were attached to some of their physical information.

"This is the one, Jones," I said as I grabbed Matt Barry's file,

"Alright, Let's bring him in then," Jones said, as he and I went out of the Station and arrest the Rosa Wolf's Killer.

After Matt Barry's Trial...

Jones and I went back to the station after Matt Barry was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Rosa Wolf. But things weren't over just yet.

"Congratulations on your first investigation and your first arrest, Juan," Jones said, "But the Chief had ordered us to interview Ash Bison since he's still a member of the Vipers Gang,"

"Where is he now?" I asked,

"He's 'patiently' waiting for us at the interrogation room," Jones said,

"Then let's go and talk to him already. I think he's been waiting for too long now," I said as Jones and I went to the Interrogation Room.

As we entered the room, Ash Bison was a man in his mid-30s, has black neck-length hair, wears a blue cap, a blackjack over a white T-Shirt with a bullseye drawn in the middle, and he has The Vipers Logo tattooed to his neck.

But most importantly, He had an impatient expression on his face.

"We need informant about your Vipers Gang. Got anything to share with us?" Jones asked sternly,

Ash simply scoffed at the latter and crossed his arms together.

"I got nothing to tell you about that," He said,

"Well, then Detective Juan and I will have another look at the roadside, and trust me, we'll find something to make your life hell!" Jones yelled,

"Yeah? Go to the roadside, see if I care... If you two have time to lose, it's not my problem!" Bison said,

"Watch it, Ash Bison," I threaten,

Ash Bison simply rolled his eyes while Jones and I left him in the room and drove our way to the roadside of the town entrance.

The police tape had already been removed and most of the crime scene had been cleaned out except for the dried bloodstains at the base of the town entrance sign.

Jones and I searched the area for anything that might be tied to Ash Bison. But on the side of the road not too far from the entrance sign, we found a handgun lying on the ground, picked it up, and placed it inside an evidence bag.

"Hey Juan, how about we head back to the station and have that gun examined. Bison probably dropped it when he got arrested," Jones said,

"Sure thing, Jones," I replied, as we went back to the squad car and went back to the station to examine the gun. After finishing the examination, we discovered a couple of fingerprints on the gun.

"Great job, Juan! The fingerprints we found are crystal clear," Jones said with a grin, "Now the lab should have no trouble analyzing them and getting a match!"

Jones and I went back to the station to have the fingerprints analyzed. An hour later, we made our way to the tech lab to get the results of the fingerprints.

My expectations for the tech lab were quite clear. It was filled with several devices that are used for analyzing CCTV Footages, Barcodes, Receipts, or Recordings. But what really caught my eye was a TV screen with a Game Console plugged into it just a little far from the tech lab's equipment.

And the person stationed there was donning a gray hoodie, headphones around his neck, and his back facing us.

"Hey, Alex!" Jones called out,

The moment Alex turned to us, I couldn't help but notice the computer screen was displaying a game of 'Invaders'.

"Hey, Jones!" Alex greeted then turns to me, "Is this the new rookie?"

"That's right, the name is Juan," I introduced,

"Hi Juan, I'm Alex, but you can call me the Digital God if you want to," Alex said,

I playfully chuckle at this while Jones rolls his eyes.

"Yes, I'm sure Juan will do that... Alex is in charge of all the technical stuff, and yes, he is good, although maybe not that good,"

"Spoilsport," Alex teased, "But anyway, The Fingerprints you collected from the gun are a match with Ash Bison,"

"Perfect!" Jones exclaimed cheerfully, "And I'm sure the idiot doesn't have a gun license, How much do you want to bet he'll talk now?"

"Not much, Jones," I said as he and I walked out of the Tech Lab and went back to the Interrogation Room where the gang member still smirking at them.

"How was your trip, Coppers?" Bison asked smugly,

I simply frowned at the gang member while Jones had the same look as mine.

"We have your gun and your prints, Mr. Bison. In case you're too dumb to realize, this isn't good," He explained,

"So, what's it gonna be, Bison? Are you going to tell us what you know about the Vipers or you can spend some time in a cell for a while?" I asked,

"Alright, Detectives, you got me!" Bison said while he sarcastically raises his hands, "We've changed leaders recently. The new guy's name is... Keath Myass!"

"Great! Now let's go and talk to this Keath Myass!" Jones said,

"Uh... Jones, you might want to think about that for a second," I said, while Bison chuckles at this.

"Wait, Keath... Keath My..." After Jones had realized this and then turns to the chuckling Bison, "Why you little-! That's it! Let's put this jerk behind bars!"

Ash Bison was soon cuffed and led the cackling man away for booking. After he had been processed, he was soon put in a holding cell to wait for his release with minor charges.

A Few minutes later...

I was writing up my report regarding the case on my new desk. But while I was about to finish my report, A Cup of Coffee was placed near me.

I turned towards it then looked up to see Jones giving a welcoming smile to me. With that, I grabbed the cup and slowly took a sip from it.

"Ah... Thanks, Jones," I said as I put down the cup onto my desk,

"Anytime, Partner," Jones replied while he went back to his desk,

After I've finished my report and my cup of coffee... Marks the end of my first day in the Grimsborough Police Department...

Extra... Christine's POV

Classes had just finished and I was walking my way out of the school grounds with Liza holding my hand.

Once both of us were outside, A few of my classmates approached me suddenly.

"Hey, Christine! Did you hear what your brother did today?" Classmate 1 said,

"No why?" I asked while I stopped walking along with Liza.

"He just arrested Rosa's Murderer today, and he was also a football player in this school as well," Classmate 2 revealed,

"Really?" I said with a surprised tone while Liza was surprised by hearing this.

"Yeah, I don't know why Matt Barry would do such a thing," Classmate 1 said, as she put her hand under her chin in thought.

"I heard rumors that Rosa used to flirt with him. But suddenly, she started flirting with the other football players behind his back," Classmate 2 explained,

"Guess that would explain it," I pointed,

"Think so," Classmate 1 said, "But anyway, I just wanted to tell you that's all. See you tomorrow!"

As my classmates departed, I simply continued walking my way to the entrance while I noticed my little sister glancing at me.

"What's on your mind, Liza?" I asked,

"Isn't Big Brother cool with his job?" She asked,

I opened my mouth for a bit, then it turned into a smile as she and I kept on walking, "Yeah, He really is cool with it..."
