INSIDE OF GILMORE HOUSE--NIGHTTIME
Rory walks into the kitchen and sees Lorelai slowly opening and closing the refrigerator door.
Rory: (quizzically) Uh, Mom, what are you doing?
Lorelai: (closing the fridge) I'm calculating the exact moment when the fridge light goes out.
Rory: (rubbing her eyes) Why?
Lorelai: (shrugging) Can't sleep.
Rory: (sitting down at the kitchen table) Luke told you not to have that fifth cup of coffee.
Lorelai: (sitting down too) Well, it's his fault. His coffee's too good. I think he laces it with something.
Rory: (rolling her eyes) Yeah, Mom...you know, I bet it's cocaine...maybe LSD.
Lorelai: (with that thinking look) That would explain the dancing pig hallucination I had a few hours ago.
Rory: (getting up) You're so tired, you're delirious. Come on, just go to bed.
Lorelai: I can't. I just lie there and stare at the ceiling, counting cracks.
Rory: There are no cracks in your ceiling.
Lorelai: Right. So it didn't take long to count them. That's why I came down here.
Rory: (turning toward her room) Fine, but I'm going back to bed.
Lorelai: (calling after her) Okay. I'll be here. Just me and the dancing pigs.
