Nooroo: Many centuries ago, magic jewels bestowing extraordinary powers were created. These were... Miraculous. Throughout history, heroes have used these jewels for the good of the human race. Two of these Miraculous are more powerful than the others; the earrings of the Ladybug, which provide the power of creation; and the ring of the Black Cat, which grants the power of destruction. According to legend, whoever controls both these jewels at the same time, will achieve absolute power.
After Nooroo, the Kwami of Transmission, speaks, Gabriel stares at the picture of Emilie before closing the brooch.
Gabriel: I want that absolute power, Nooroo. I must have those Miraculous!
Nooroo: But nobody knows where these Miraculous are!
Gabriel: I found you though, my little Nooroo. Your Miraculous... reminds me of its powers again.
Nooroo: The Moth Brooch allows you to give someone their superpowers and to make that person your devoted follower!
Gabriel: And when it comes to luring superheroes, what could be better than creating supervillains?
Nooroo: But master, the Miraculous are not meant to be used for evil purposes!
Furiously, the old man stomps his foot in frustration causing the butterflies to flee.
Gabriel: I must have this absolute power! Your Miraculous is in my control!
He then points at Nooroo.
Gabriel: I am your master now, and you must obey me.
Traumatized, Nooroo obeys sadly.
Nooroo:Yes, master.
Gabriel then puts on the brooch before saying the magic words.
Male voice: Nooroo, dark wings! Rise!
The Kwami disappeared as Gabriel transformed into Hawk Moth.
HawkMoth: From this day on, I shall be known as... Hawk Moth!
Evil laughter came from a man born to be a Villain throughout his lair.
In the massage shop, Wayzz is awakened from his slumber sensing Nooroo's presence.
He flies out of the gramophone just as the customer leaves the area leaving his master alone.
Wayzz: Master, Master!
Wang Fu: What is it?
Wayzz: Master, the Moth Miraculous, I felt its aura.
Wang Fu: I thought it had been lost forever!
Wayzz: But Master, it's a negative aura. I fear it may have gotten into the hands of a dark power!
Wang Fu: We must find Nooroo and his Miraculous. If it has gotten into the wrong hands, there's no telling what evil will come upon the world! Time to transform! Wayzz...
Unfortunately, due to his old age, Fu's back cracks causing him to kneel.
Wayzz: Please, Master. Be reasonable. You are–
Wang Fu: Still young! I'm only 186. But you're right, Wayzz. I can no longer do it alone. We'll need some help.
He opens the gramophone with the secret code, and the compartment is opened revealing the Miraculous chest box.
Somewhere in Paris, at Tom Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie, a phone was ringing on the bed as it set off an alarm.
A hand turned it off and the girl, Kagami, woke up.
She yawns and stretches before heading downstairs where she meets her mother, Sabine.
Sabine: Good morning, Kagami.
Kagami: Morning, Mom.
She then opens the cupboard to grab her breakfast.
Kagami: I bet you anything Chloé will be in my class again.
Sabine: Four years in a row, is that possible?
Kagami: Definitely. Lucky me!
Sabine: Oh, don't say that! It's the start of a new year - I'm sure everything will be just fine!
Kagami then sets down and starts eating.
Later, she's downstairs fully dressed as her father Tom hands her a box of macaroons.
Kagami: Dad, these are so awesome!
Tom: Glad you like them.
Kagami: Thank you, Dad, my class will love them! You're the best!
Tom: We're the best, thanks to your amazing designs.
Kagami nods at the drawing then she takes her bag and leaves the bakery after she kisses Tom and Sabine's cheeks.
Kagami: See you tonight!
She makes her way across the street and stops by the red light.
Kagami had been waiting for a while until she saw Fu crossing the red light just as the car was coming his way.
As she panicked, Kagami grabs Fu by his hand and takes him to the other side of the street just as the car passes by.
Wang Fu: Oh, I'm sorry. I never knew where I was going.
Kagami: That's okay, sir. You should be more careful next time.
The lights turned green and everyone on their phones walked across.
Kagami: Well, I better get going before I'll be late. Have a nice day!
She then walks across on her way to school as Fu smiles watching her away as he looks at the mysterious black box.
Wang Fu: Thank you very much, young lady.
Fu then stops by the bakery.
Kagami reached the school's doorway as other students entered.
She entered her classroom and sat in the second row on the left.
Miss Bustier: Nino, Why don't you have a seat in the front row this year?
Nino groaned as he took the front row.
Kagami sighs as she opens the box when someone shouts.
Kim: I WANT MACAROONS!!!
Kim had just entered the room when he smelled a delicious aroma straight from the bakery.
Kagami closed it and put it away from his reach.
Kagami: Kim! Hold that sweet tooth of yours! Can't you see I'm going to share it with everyone!
Miss Bustier: Kim, will you calm down a bit?
Max: She's right, you know?
Kim blushed in embarrassment and headed to his seat as the rest of the class entered as well.
Miss Bustier: Has everyone found a seat?
Everyone: Yes, Ma'am.
Miss Bustier: Good! For those of you who don't yet know me, I'm Miss Bustier. I'll be your teacher this year.
Luka: Thank you.
Luka had just been paid after he had his recent delivery as a delivery service.
He decided to head to his next stop on his bike when he saw Fu crawling as he tried to reach his walking cane.
He gets off the bike and helps Fu get up and gives him the came back.
Wang Fu: Thank you, young man.
Luka: It's an honor to help.
Luka then hops on the bike once more and heads down the river.
Little did he know that Fu pretends to be in trouble as he puts his crane on his back walking away.
Miss Bustier: Those of you who have P.E., Mr. D'Argencourt is expecting you at the stadium. The rest of you can head over to the library.
Kim handed Ivan a note and once Ivan read it, he went angry.
Ivan: Kim!
Miss Bustier: Ivan, what is going on?
Ivan: It's Kim! I'm so gonna get...
Miss Bustier: Ivan, go to the principal's office.
Ivan walks away angrily.
In Hawk Moth's lair, he senses his first victim as his window opens.
Hawk Moth: Negative emotions. This is perfect. Just what I need. Anger, sadness... Burn a hole into his heart, my horrible Akuma.
With a butterfly in his hand, he turns it into a black Akuma.
Hawk Moth: Fly away, my little Akuma, and evilize him!
The Akuma butterfly flew out of the hole of the window on its way to the respective victim.
Ivan is about to barge into the principal's office when the Akuma flies into the rugged paper, infecting it.
A symbol appeared on Ivan's face he turned red.
Hawk Moth: Stoneheart, I am Hawk Moth. I give you the power to seek revenge on those who have wronged you.
Ivan: Okay, Hawk Moth.
As Ivan agrees, the Akuma infected his whole body as he transforms.
Inside Mr. Damocles' office, he is on his paperwork when Ivan, as Stoneheart, barges in in fury.
Stoneheart: KIMMM!!!
In the library, Kagami and some of the students are thrown to the floor while the other students see Stoneheart on the security camera.
Alya: Come on!
Student: Did you hear that?
Stoneheart: KIMMM!!!
Back at the office, Mr. Damocles calls the police.
Mr. Damocles: Hello? Is this the police? Give me the army!
Kagami: What's going on? He had Ivan's voice?
Alya stands up to witness the situation.
Alya: It's as if he's been transformed into a real-life supervillain! GPS, check. Battery, check. I am so outta here!
Alya is about to leave the library when Kagami calls her out.
Kagami: Hey! Where are you going?
Alya: Where there's a supervillain, there's always a superhero close behind! No way I'm missing this!
Kagami: Wait, you can't! It's dangerous!
Alya didn't listen as she exited.
Kagami looks back at the security camera screen.
She sees Stoneheart pick up a car and throw it at the security camera.
Breaking it and showing a rainbow error screen.
Stoneheart: KIM!
Kagami winces.
At the Seine, Fu is outside the houseboat holding the same black box as he hears guitar strings inside.
Luka had just got back from his work and is playing with his guitar in his room.
His parents are out due to their world tours and it only leaves him and his twin sister Juleka.
Speaking of Juleka, she enters his room looking anxious.
Luka stops playing when sensing her presence.
Luka: Is something wrong, Juleka?
Juleka: Something is happening outside.
Luka: What?
Juleka flipped the switch on the TV to see the news.
Outside the Agreste Manor, the police force is about to fire at Stoneheart.
Roger: Ready? Fire!
The police fire at Stoneheart, but he gets bigger.
At the Grand Hotel, Mayor Bourgeois is holding a speech.
André: I'm asking all Parisians to stay home until this situation is under control.
The News Crews are asking more questions.
Nadja: As incredible as it seems, it's been confirmed that Paris is indeed being attacked by a supervillain. The police have been struggling to keep the situation under control.
Roger: Be confident, the strong arm of the law will come crashing down on the... I mean, the other arm.
In Kagami's room, the said girl is watching the news via computer in frustration.
Kagami: I hated the first days back at school...
Kagami and Luka noticed the black boxes in front of them.
Luka Kagami: What's this doing here?
Luka looks at Juleka as she shrugs.
The two opened the boxes as bright lights blinded them.
Back in the Couffaine houseboat, the glow fades away revealing a Ladybug Kwami, Tikki.
The twins were surprised by the look of the unknown creature.
Luka: Uh, hi there.
Tikki: Hi!
Juleka squeaked.
Juleka: Did that just talk?
Tikki: Everything's okay! Don't be scared!
Luka and Juleka looked at each other.
Back in Kagami's room, the green glow fades away revealing Plagg as he yawns.
Kagami stares at him in defense.
Kagami: Who are you? What kind of creature are you? Where did you come from?
Plagg: No offense, but I can't answer all of these questions. Plagg. Nice to meet you.
Kagami gives him a stern look.
Tikki: Listen, Luka. I know everything may seem a bit strange to you, but you need to let me explain what is happening.
Luka: What are you, and how do you know my name?
Tikki: I am a Kwami, and my name is Tikki.
Juleka: What a cute name for a cute being.
Tikki: Thank you.
Plagg is now trapped in his new owner's hands as he tries to eat anything shiny but to no avail.
Kagami: I still don't know what you're doing here.
Plagg: Look, I'm a Kwami. I grant powers. Yours is the power of destruction, got it?
Kagami gets confused.
Plagg: Oh boy. Anyway, have you got anything to eat? I'm starving...
Kagami: Is this some kind of a joke, or is my head messing with me?
Plagg: No, lady. It's reality. Your parents must never know that I exist! Or anyone for that matter.
Luka: So, you were sent here so I could defeat this Stoneheart, right?
Tikki: That's right. And your parents must never know that I exist. Neither anybody else.
Juleka: What about me?
Tikki: Well, that was just a mistake, but let's forget about it now.
Back at the massage shop, Wayzz talks to Fu once more as the elder is about to close the box.
Wayzz: Do you think they'll be up to it, Master?
Wang Fu: I only got it wrong once. It will never happen again. At least I hope not.
The Miraculous box then closes back inside the gramophone.
Back in the houseboat, Luka proceeds to wear the ladybug earrings on his pierced ears.
Luka: Okay, so all I have to do is break this Akuma- the black and purple butterfly- and capture it before it gets lost, right?
Tikki: That's right.
Juleka: And what's that charm thing again?
Tikki: The "Lucky Charm"! It's his secret superpower!
Luka: Okay, this is all going too fast. I'm not sure if I could handle this.
Tikki: Trust yourself, Luka. To transform, all you have to say is "Tikki, Spots on". And then, you will transform into a suit.
Luka: Got it!
Tikki: And one more thing to say. After the Akuma is being dealt with, you will grant access to a set of anti-akumatization charms called "Magical Charms". That charm would prevent further akumatizations of the previous victim.
Luka: Okay, I'm ready.
Tikki: Oh, and I can't communicate with you both while he's transformed.
Luka: Alright, Tikki. Let's do this! Tikki, Spots on!
Outside the houseboat, a red glow shines inside as he transforms.
Kagami puts on the black ring.
Plagg: Claws out! That's how you transform.
Kagami: Okay, then what?
Plagg: You have a superpower called "Cataclysm". You can break things with one touch.
Kagami: Anything else?
Plagg: If you're not an adult, you will only have five minutes to turn into your ordinary self once you use your superpower.
Kagami: That's it?
Plagg: Yup! Go ahead, save the world.
Kagami: Okay. I'll see you there. Plagg, Claws out!
With a green glow, Kagami now wears a black tight suit with green lines, a green belt, cat ears, a belt tail with a bell on the end, and a black mask making her whole eyes green.
Kagami: This seems... different.
Kagami notices something on the news on screen.
Nadja: Stoneheart is heading toward the Montparnasse tower. The monster seems to be unstoppable!
She sees Alya going after Stoneheart and gasps.
Kagami: Not her!
Back in the houseboat, Luka is now wearing a tight suit.
His suit has a red torso, arm sleeves, and boots covered in black spots, then black leggings and gloves with red spots, finished with a red and black hood and a ladybug patterned mask.
Juleka: It looks nice to you.
Luka: Thanks, Juleka. Now, let's see what we can do.
With a yo-yo in hand, he heads outside to see a lamppost sticking on the bridge.
Juleka: I wish you luck, brother.
Luka nodded at his sister before he aimed his weapon at the post.
When it was tightened, Luka had then whisked away.
On the other side of the street, Kagami tightrope on her stick.
Kagami: I'm starting to get the hang of this.
Luka: Look out!
She then sees Luka about to fall.
He falls into her arms.
They both fall and get hung by the yo-yo.
Kagami: Uh, hi?
Luka: Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose.
The yo-yo untangled causing them to fall to the ground
Kagami: I bet you're the partner my kwami told me about. I'm...
Kagami thinks of an alias until...
Kuro Neko: Kuro Neko. Yeah, Kuro Neko. And you?
Ladybeetle: Ladybeetle. That's my name.
Ladybeetle pulls the yo-yo and it hits Kuro Neko.
Ladybeetle: Oh, Sorry! I didn't mean to do that!
Kuro Neko: It's okay, young man. I'm learning as well.
Suddenly, the floor trembles.
Ladybeetle sees a building falling and goes to where it is.
Kuro Neko: Hey! Where are you going?
Ladybeetle: To save Paris, right?
Luka then follows Stoneheart.
Kuro Neko: Ugh.
Kuro Neko speaks to herself.
Kuro Neko: Trust yourself, trust yourself...
She uses the stick to jump around and follow Ladybeetle.
At Parc des Princes, the students are done with P.E.
But then, Stoneheart appears.
Stoneheart: KIMMM!! So, who's wuss now?
Kim tries to run away from the monster, but he trips and falls.
Ladybeetle jumps in interloping.
Ladybeetle: Hey, it's not very nice to pick on people who are smaller than you.
Stoneheart: I guess you're talking about yourself.
Hawk Moth: Everything's going to be planned. The ladybug and black cat Miraculous have been activated. Here they come to save the day, and now my supervillain will destroy them.
Stoneheart charges but Ladybeetle dodges.
Ladybeetle: Where are you, Kuro Neko?
On the roof, Kuro Neko is having panic attacks.
Kuro Neko: Oh, I can't. I'm not gonna be able to do it...
Stoneheart throws a net away.
The net is about to hit Alya but Ladybeetle saves her.
Ladybeelte: You're not supposed to be here. It's too dangerous.
Alya: But I wanted a scoop about you fighting supervillains!
Ladybeetle: No! You're interrupting a battle! You could get hurt yourself. So, go before anything else.
Alya: What are you waiting for, super black cat? The world is watching you!
Kuro Neko suddenly is filled with courage.
As her heartbeat was heard, she enters the stadium and is about to fight Stoneheart.
Kuro Neko: Animal cruelty? How shameful!
Alya: Yes!
Kuro Neko: Sorry it took so long, Ladybeetle.
Ladybeelte: No biggies, Kuro Neko.
Kuro Neko: Now, let's kick his rocky behind!
Ladybeelte: Wait! Haven't you noticed? He gets bigger and stronger with every attack. We have to do something different.
Kuro Neko: Different how?
Ladybeetle: I'm not sure.
Kuro Neko: Okay then. Let's use our powers.
Ladybeetle: Let me do mine first. Lucky Charm!
Once he uses his superpower, a suit appears.
Kuro Neko: Superpower?
Ladybeetle: My kwami told me I have to break the object where the Akuma is hiding.
Kuro Neko: Well, he's made entirely out of stone.
Ladybeetle: His right hand, it's still closed. He never opens it. It's like the Russian dolls. The object isn't on him, it's hidden in his fist!
Kuro Neko: So what's your plan?
Ladybeetle looks around and spots a hose, Alya, and the wetsuit.
Ladybeetle: This!
He grabs the hose and ties it to the suit.
Then ties Kuro Neko's feet with her yo-yo.
Ladybeetle: Don't resist. Trust me.
Kuro Neko: You are crazy!
Kuro Neko gets thrown and Stoneheart gets her.
Ladybeetle: Catch me if you can!
Stoneheart drops the akumatized object and grabs Ladybug.
Ladybeetle: And now... Girl, the tap!
Alya realizes the signal and goes to the water tap and opens it.
The water sprouts and inflates the suit.
Stoneheart lets go of him.
Ladybeetle breaks the akumatized object and the akuma flies away.
Ladybeetle: Playtime's over little Akuma.
He opens the yo-yo and then swings it.
Ladybeetle: Time to de-evillize!
Ladybeetle captures the akuma.
Ladybeetle: Gotcha!
He then releases a white butterfly.
Ladybeetle: Bye-bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybeetle!
As he throws the Lucky Charm into the air, a swarm of ladybugs scattered everywhere turns everything back to normal.
Stoneheart is turned back into Ivan.
Kuro Neko: This is awesome. Like crazily awesome.
Ivan: What's going on? What am I doing here?
Kuro Neko: You were incredible, Ladybeetle. You did it!
Ladybeetle: We both did it, partner.
Ladybeetle and Kuro Neko fist bumped.
Ladybeetle Kuro Neko: Pound it!
Ladybeetle: Oh, wait! I almost forgot!
Ladybeetle opens his yo-yo once more and pulls out a ladybug-shaped charm with the color palette of Stoneheart.
Kuro Neko: What is that?
Ladybeetle: It's a magical charm.
He walks over to Ivan and gives him the charm.
Ladybeetle: Here, keep this Magical Charm with you. It will prevent you from getting akumatized ever again.
Ivan: Thank you.
He then noticed the paper on the ground.
He grabs it and reads.
Ladybeetle: "You haven't even got the guts to tell Mylène you love her, wuss." Aw...
Ivan: Kim wrote it. He's always making fun of me.
Ladybeetle: You know, you shouldn't get so bent out of shape about that. There's no shame in telling someone you love them.
Suddenly, Alya enters the scene.
Alya: Uncanny, amazing, spectacular! Are you gonna be protecting Paris from now on? How did you get your powers? Did you get stung by a radioactive Ladybug? Oh, I've got a ton of questions to ask you, Ladybeetle.
Ladybeetle: Thank you for that but...
Ladybeetle's Miraculous beeps.
Ladybeetle: We better get going.
Kuro Neko: Yeah, see you!
Ladybeetle and Kuro Neko leave the stadium just as Alya snaps a photo of them before they disappeared.
Hawk Moth: This is just the beginning, Ladybeetle. You and Kuro Neko may have won this battle, but I will win the war. I will get your Miraculous. I will get absolute power! And then my secret dream will come true!
The window then closes before his eye.
Nadja: So thanks to this amateur footage, the Parisians now know the identities of their heroes!
In the Couffaine houseboat, Juleka, Luka, and Tikki are watching the news.
Luka: I did it, Tikki!
Tikki: You see? You were up to it!
Juleka: Yeah. That was awesome!
Mr. Bourgeois: I am pleased to announce that we will organize a huge celebration in honor of our city's new protectors. Ladybeetle and Kuro Neko.
Back at the bakery, Kagami smiles as she watches the news via the computer while Plagg eats some cheese he requested until Sabine calls her from downstairs.
Sabine: Kagami! Dinner time!
Outside the bakery, it was raining as Fu watches her from afar with Wayzz by his side.
Wayzz: Excellent choice, Master.
Fu rubs his beard.
Wang Fu: Those two are made for each other.
The Rise of Ladybeetle and Kuro Neko had come.
