"Come on Harry, N.E.W.T.S are only a few weeks away and you'll do it if you love me." Hermione said, tugging on Harry's arm and pulling him towards the Hogwarts library.

Harry immediately stopped struggling.

"Oh Hermione, if only you knew!" Harry thought longingly as he followed his friend into the library.

"What are we looking for again?" He asked after they put their bags down and started to browse the shelves.

"For the hundredth time, books on hippogriffs." Hermione said indignantly.

"Ok, ok, no need to get in a huff!" Harry said.

"Harry! Have you found something yet?" Hermione asked as she carried a large pile of books she found.

There was no answer but eventually, she found him reading something in one of the aisles. He must have heard her coming because he quickly hid the book away, but not before Hermione got a glance at the cover.

"Qudditch through the ages, again?" She sighed and Harry blushed.

She sighed, dumped the books on the floor before snatching the book from behind Harry's back, putting it back on the shelf, taking one of the biggest and heaviest books and whacking Harry in the stomach with it, making him fall to the floor.

She sat down back to back with him and picked up a book herself.

"Hey Mione." Harry called after a few minutes.

"Yeah Harry?"

"Did you know that hippogriffs symbol love?" Harry asked and Hermione looked over her shoulder at the book Harry was reading.

"Really, what else does it say?" She asked, abandoning her own book and moving next to Harry.

"It says that if two people, male and female, and a hippogriff are in a room together, it shows a good chance of love between the two." He read, Hermione hanging on to every word.

"Harry, do you remember in third year when we were riding on Buckbeak?" Hermione asked and Harry nodded.

"Doesn't that seem, well, similar to us." Harry said, taking the words out of her mouth and blushed.

"Yeah, but you would never want that with me." Hermione said ashamedly and Harry was suddenly hit by a realization of the girl, who had been right in front of his eyes for 7th years.

The girl who he spent his summers in his small bedroom at the Dursleys thinking about. Who had comforted him after Sirius's death? Who had joyously celebrated with him when they had become head boy and head girl? Could Hermione actually, like him back?

"Who ever said that?" He asked softly and she looked up at him.

"What are you trying to say Harry? That you like me?" She said in disbelief.

"More than that, Hermione Granger, I think I love you." He said.

Neither said anything after that, but moved slowly into a soft sweet kiss that both had waited 7 long years for.

And the rest my friends, is another story altogether…

How was that, if I don't win now, hell, there is the next one!
