Author's note: Hello, dreamers! This will be a prologue for book 2! I'm trying to keep details as vague as possible, so the fictional characters in this chapter will be kept secret. This is set just before the epilogue of the last book before Esperanza arrived. So, enjoy!
Characters introduced (or mentioned)
"The Dreams' (OC)
Esperanza (OC)
Esperanza's brother and sister (?)
Disclaimer! Any of the characters, ideas, locations, or stories that aren't my OCs or part of my personal ideas aren't mine and I do not claim to own them.
We didn't know what was happening. My brother, sister, and I were given the vaguest of instructions about my mission. I would have my memories of every character I've met, but I was told not to worry. I was told when I would go on their missions, as soon as we stared at each other, we would remember. The three of us ran through the shadows, trying to get to our hope. That portal to the new timeline wouldn't stay open for long, and when it vanished, our hope would with it.
I just hoped we would get there...
My brother, sister, and I were running from an unknown evil. It was a swirling, purple mass that threatened to send anyone who came in contact with it to sleep forever.
It was simply known as The Dreams.
Many people of my royal court have tried to determine what the person underneath the monster looked like, but the three of us knew one thing.
There was no person underneath this abomination.
It was simply just a thing. A thing with no tangible body. Nothing but chaos and destruction. Many scholars of my kingdom, including myself, have brainstormed what it would look like if it were a person. They were all the same. A figure wearing a dark cloak, with armor of the blackest night underneath. But I can't see it as anything more than a killer. Trapping my kingdom, the people who I see as equals, as my FAMILY!
He came in the night, while everyone slept. The three of us were the only ones awake. We had decided to travel to the 'field of youth,' what we call the massive expanse of land we like to run on. This was in the town of Somewhere. Yes, as we are not permitted to give away any personal information about the Author herself, the Kingdom with no Name is just named 'Somewhere,' a random town in the United States of America. That's right! I was known as 'the favorite.' The author's favorite incarnation and I live in an Etherian projection of her Realitean town. Enough about the town, let's talk about me! Of course, because I was the queen! Now, when the Author first thought about Coletta, she was the typical light-hearted, high-pitched voice, generic character. But, when she decided to rebel against her immortality, she became a stoic, cold, megapowerful warrior. Cadenza, who actually comes after me, is a bit more flawed. She's the imperfect, tragic Queen whose kingdom has fallen from grace. She's basically a 'continuation' of me.
Now, about me. I enjoy using my powers to turn normal houses into mansion versions of themselves, and running through them in long, pink, inhumanely poofy gowns. Most of the incarnations have shedded most of their old, mary sue character traits, but not me! I'm the 'Peter Pan' of the group if you get what I'm trying to say. I'm the one who never wanted to grow up past a certain phase. I was part of a phase where the Author wanted to make a 'bad' good character. Kind of like a chaotic, anti-hero, who was still a queen. I make friends from different movies, (mostly movies) and could flood an entire city (not literally) when I cry when they die. I'm also FIERCELY protective of them, so if you ever even say you'll hurt one of them, you'd better be able to run pretty fast!
Enough chatting about my powers, the portal is in the distance! I walk up to it, say goodbye to my siblings, but they find their way into the portal room! The Dreams are prepared to get us! My siblings shove me through the portal, and as I fall through it, I see them fall asleep and watch as The Dreams absorbs the two of them and take them to the Dreamworld!
That's how our story begins. With a tragedy. I don't know if Lily or the others can handle The Dreams' power enough to be able to enter it and seal it away, but I know one thing.
If they can't,I will. Mark my words.
Author's note: Well, there you have it. The first chapter of a new story! This one will have a little bit more of a darker tone than the last one and will focus on friendship instead of family. Esperanza will be an over-the-top, fiercely loyal, and protective character. The next chapter will formally introduce Esperanza to the others and will set up for what's coming next. Stay Lucid!
