"And now , intrducing the beautiful Risa! Singing 'Sound Life'! " Vash heard the announcer shout as he walked into the town's saloon.
He then took a seat at the bar table and looked towards the stage to see a girl about 5'7", with black hair pulled to the side of her head into a bun, with a few locks of hair trailing to the middle of her back. Her clothing was a short white kimono, and a thin red lace ribbon fitted around her waist with a rather big black bow connected to the back of the kimono. She began to sing. Vash heard the first few words of the song and his eyes widened.
"So... On the first evening,
a pebble from somewhere drops upon the world.
So... On the second evening,
all the children of their pebble hold hands and compose a waltz.
Sound Life...
So... On the third evening,
the children of the waltz make waves upon the world.
So... On the fourth evening,
all the children of the waves splash on the shore.
Sound Life...
So... On the fifth evening,
the world is struck by those fragments again and again.
So... On the sixith evening,
by the signal, the travellers are brought together.
Sound Life...
So... On the seventh evening,
the ship braces through the sky.
So... On the eighth morning,
a song from somewhere reaches my ears.
Sound Life...
Then... Beyond the new sky,
everything the song recorded echoes up in harmony.
Sound Life... Sound Life."
The mysterious girl then bowed to her audience as they applaude. She then made her way off stage. She walked to the bar, and took a seat next to Vash. Vash then turned to her then asked "Where did you hear that song?" He said in a agitaded voice.
" I Learned it from an old friend," she replied to Vash. The girl and Vash continued to chat for a while. While they had been talkng, Vash turned his head to notice a tall man with blue hair wearing a white coat walking through the entrance of the saloon. Vashes eyes narrowed as the man walked by him and over to the girl. "Good evening Risa." the man said taking a seat next to Risa at the bar. "Hello Legato." Risa greeted Legato as Vash stood up and walked to the door of the saloon. When he was halfway to the door, Risa asked, "Where are you going?" Vash then answered, "My friends are waiting for me at the town's inn," he said walking out of the saloon.
A few seconds after he had walked out of the saloon, he heard a gunshot and a woman scream from inside of the saloon.
