ER isn't mine! (Hey do you ever get annoyed of repeatedly saying that?)

Oh and I'd like to thank MeliGurlJO for notifying me of my misplacement of chapters 3 & 4. Thank you!

As the little hand on the clock passed 6, Lucy grabbed her stuff and went through the door. "Goodnight." Lucy yelled to the rest of the staff.

"I like that girl." Malucci said to whoever listened. He turned around and stared out the door where she had left.

"Ooh! Malucci's crushing on the new med.-student." Deb teased.

.

"It's so cold." Lucy said to herself. She hadn't worn a coat that morning, but now wished she had. She shuffled her hands together trying to warm up. The young woman shivered as she walked aimlessly down the street.

"You look cold, take my jacket." Said a deep voice from behind her. Lucy jumped and twirled around to face to follower, then quickly leapt into his arms.

"Francis! What are you doing here?" She asked, as he slipped his jacket onto her.

"Well, I just finished off my part with the army and I went to see you, but your brother told me you moved across the country."

"I can't believe you drove all the way from San Francisco to here." Lucy couldn't contain herself. She hadn't seen her friend since their high school graduation. "You wanna go for a coffee?"

"I thought you didn't drink coffee."

"Things change, Francis. So how's Jason?"

"Your brother? He's doing pretty damn good." Lucy smiled and she slipped her arm through his.

Lucy and Francis talked for hours. The young woman was so happy to be with someone she knew. It had been a few years since she had been home, and having Francis with her in Chicago made it feel like home.

Carter reached the front of her house, he had been wandering around outside for the longest time. He stopped pacing and looked up at the windows, asking himself if she'd be home. 'It can't hurt to see.' He thought as he climbed the stairs to her apartment.

"It's so far." John said to himself, as he struggled up the last few steps. He walked over to her door and knocked. No answer. He remembered the key that he was meaning to give back to her. John slipped the metal piece into the door and walked in. "Abby?" Carter began to worry. He slipped in and out of the few rooms in the house. Only her bedroom left. He took a deep breath before entering the dark room.

"What are you doing?" Abby yelled at her friend as she covered herself with the sheet. The man beside her did the same.

"Hello Carter." Luka greeted him.

The young man covered his eyes as he backed out of the room. "I am... leaving now! I'll see you tomorrow! Both of you." John slipped out of the apartment. 'I guess it could hurt.' He thought as he made his way to his own apartment.

"Weren't you supposed to be off hours ago?" Deb questioned Dave.

"Yep. I was 'supposed' to be off at 6:30 with the med-students, but Pratt called in sick." Dave was bored out of his mind. He had been on for14 hours and had barely lifted a finger.

"So you like that new med-student?" Deb asked, striving for entertainment.

And it had been found. "I don' t like her!" Malucci became defensive which forced Deb and Randi who had been listening to burst out laughing.

Dave couldn't convince himself.

'I don't...'
