We start off with the camera revealing Don, standing on top of a giant cliff. He then spoke to the audience. We are coming to you live from the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It's been exactly a year since the Ridiculous race ended, and all 36 competitors are back for season 2. But here's the catch, they will not be paired in teams, it's every player for themselves. This time if a player gets eliminated, they can still compete for the rest of the season. Here is how this is going to work, there are going to be 50 challenges, across all 50 states in the US. At the end of each challenge, each contestant will receive points. First place will receive 36 points, second place gets 35, and so on until last place, who only receives 1 point. When there are only 10 challenges left, the top 10 in points will advance onward to the chase. There will also be two wild card spots, for the two contestants that have the most amount of wins, between eleventh through twentieth. If they have the same number of wins, it will be determined by points. For the final 10 challenges, only the 12 chase contenders will be in contention to win it all. Thirteenth on back are allowed to compete in the final challenges, but all they get for winning is the prize for one individual challenge. The 12 chase contestants will all have their points reset to the same amount, with every challenge win that they got from the regular season, giving an extra 3 points. Wild card winners will not get that luxury. By the end of the ten challenges, the contestant with the most points will win $1,000,000. So everybody strap in for a wild ride, this is...The race around the states.
Intro consists of a shorter version of the final countdown.
The camera then shows Don, back at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Welcome back to the race around the states he said. Before we see our contestants for the first time in over a year, let us hear what they think about their chances.
(Confessional-I'm too lazy to think of anything, you decide what it is.)
Tom-Okay, this race around America thing, is a great opportunity for me and Jen to show the locals, what Canadian fashion is like. And maybe we can learn some tips from them as well. Sure i'm going to be competing against Jen this time, but we'll always be friends.
Jen-A lot of people think that me and Tom are a couple. I am thankfully here to disprove that theory, and point that we actually think of each other like cousins. I do want to win this whole thing, but I wouldn't have a problem with Tom doing it instead.
Lorenzo-Over a year ago, I would have been all for competing against Chet. But now, I'm gonna miss working together with him. As long as one of us wins, everything will be good.
Chet-I think me and Lorenzo could finish in the top two in points, quite easily. I mean come on, does anybody have a realistic chance of beating the stepbrothers? NOBODY WILL STOP US!
Dwayne-So this time, i'll be competing against my boy. I always tended to have a soft spot for friendly competitions between family. This will help our bond grow even more, than it did last year.
Junior-As you can see, there is a giant X mark on my face. That is a permanent scar from when Loki attacked me. It's not the only thing i've got. (Lifts up his shirt to show that he has several scars and red marks, on his front and back. I'm sorry to say that these scars are on me for the rest of my life, despite my full recovery. Anyways I can see myself winning this time, I just hope my dad doesn't get too competitive. You should have seen him when we were playing Super smash brothers.
Kitty-Okay just so everybody knows, even though me and Emma are opponents now, we will never stop loving each other. Although I do fear that things might get complicated with her and Noah.
Emma-I really don't know how to handle this. I definitely want to win the money more than everyone else, but I really don't want to break up with Noah. We've been going strong for a year, and I don't want to temporarily pause things again. I'm tempted to only date him between challenges, but I think breaking up with your boyfriend and getting back together, over and over again, might be a toxic relationship.
Ellody-Considering how me and Mary are now against each other, it's going to come down to which one of us can be smarter. Then again, being a genius is what caused us to be eliminated last time.
Mary-If i'm going to have any chance against Ellody, there are certain challenges where I can't think it, and just have to wing it. I learned from the sand castle failure last time, i'm not screwing up yet again.
Stephanie-Last season I was a total jerk to Ryan. It's not going to be like that this season. Even though he's an opponent this time around, i'm still going to treat him with respect.
Ryan-Stephanie has 100% learned from her mistake last time. She's not annoying like she was before, and our relationship is still going strong. But she's not going to win the million dollars, i'm going to.
Ennui-Even though me and Crimson don't actually show it, we do have feelings on the inside. Despite the fact that we never smile, we do care about the other contestants. Even though i'm against my girlfriend, we'll never stop loving each other.
Crimson-You may have noticed that me and Ennui are down a rabbit, that's because we left Loki at home. After what happened to Junior, we didn't want to risk anyone else getting hurt. We love Loki, but after he went ape and tried to kill someone after we though he was peaceful, we didn't want to take any chances. If I don't win the million dollars, I hope Ennui does.
Jay-I really hate the idea of competing against Mickey. Whenever we went through hard times, we were still there for each other. Now the competition is going to be much more difficult. While I don't think I can win this, i'm going to do my best.
Mickey-I really hate the idea of competing against Jay. I love my twin brother more than anything, and I don't like to be against him. While I feel as though I might be an underdog in this competition, i'm not going to give up. If one of us makes the chase and the other doesn't, we'll still be together.
Owen-I guess I kinda have experience with winning, seeing as how I won Total drama island. In hindsight, I probably should have just kept the 100 grand, instead of going for the million. Had I done that, there wouldn't be more seasons, and I could have stopped so many bad things from happening.
Noah-I have come a long way. I start off as too lazy to throw a freaking dodgeball, now I'm beginning to have different opinions on others. Everything changed when I started dating Emma. I've learned to appreciate life more, and enjoy the simple things. She was the best thing to ever happen to me. Now i'm worried she'll be entirely focused on the game, and completely dump me. I'm more concerned about losing Emma than the million dollars.
Brody-I guess seeing as how me and Geoff won last season, we would technically be the defending champions. But in the end, only one of us is going to be able to take the whole thing. But it doesn't matter if you win or lose, what matters is good sportsmanship.
Geoff-Winning two seasons in a row would be sweet. It's a shame I won't be winning alongside Brody this time. And Bridge, if you are watching this babe, i'm going all the way and winning this to make you proud.
Kelly- So now i'm competing against Taylor this time, interesting. After last season ended, i've been way more strict to her. I love Taylor, but if she wants anything from me from now on, she has to earn it. And she's not taking the million dollars from me, not in a million years.
Taylor-Mom has become really annoying since last season ended. She's actually punishing me for bad behavior, and is telling me that I have to earn my way through life. But just wait, she'll start respecting me again when I take that million dollars from her. Then she'll finally realize that I am more important than her.
Devin-Been dating Carrie for over a year, and she is so much better, than my ex whose name i'm not allowed to mention. We probably would have won had I not fallen off the cliff. Considering how dangerous some of the challenges were last season, i'm worried I might get seriously hurt again. I just hope Carrie will still help me even though she's my opponent.
Carrie-Ever since Devin made a full recovery, he's been suffering from minor PTSD. He originally wasn't going to come back, until I told him that I was coming back as well. Even though we're against each other, we'll still be there for each other.
Pete-As you can see, I got a Budweiser shirt on. Despite not lasting long last season, I was able to get this beer as a sponsor. I'm gonna prove that age is just a number, and that I can take this whole thing. And this time I won't have Gerry slowing me down.
Gerry-A foot, that's how much we lost by last season, a literal foot. As you can see i've got a Miller Lite shirt on. Pete doesn't know what he's thinking, it's way better than Budweiser. Just like the tennis matches, i'll be going head to head with him. And no foot is going to stop me this time.
Leonard-I've gotten a lot of backlash about my performance in Pahkitew island, and from last season. They keep telling me that magic isn't real, and that I should drop the whole wizard bull crap. To that I say, magic is definitely real, and my spells are actually going to work this time. It looks as though me and Tammy will be having a wizards duel to win it.
Tammy-Magic is one hundred percent real, and i'll prove it by using it to get me to the very end. But i'm up against Leonard. We may be friends, but that won't stop him from casting a jinx on me.
MacArthur-Me and Sanders were so close to getting it last season. On the bright side, me and Brody finally have a thing going. And I managed to graduate from the academy, making me an official Canadian cop. While Sanders is my opponent this time, i'm still going to play fair. I'm not going to do anything to hurt my competitors, unless those competitors are the ice dancers. Those two are going down.
Sanders- MacArthur barely passed the graduation exam by 1%, while I got full marks. Ever since my arm healed, she's basically been piggybacking off of me. Now me and her are still friends, but I can't carry her through this competition. Let's see if the student learned from the teacher.
Josee-Now is the time for redemption. There will be no silver medals. Now that I don't have Jacques slowing me down, i'm going to take the gold. Those who try to stop me, will pay major consequences. Don't be surprised if I place first in every single challenge.
Jacques-Now that I don't have Josee bossing me around, I can cheat without having to be told to do so. I can't wait to see the look on Josee's face when I win the million dollars at the end of this.
Rock-Who cares if it's a free for all? me and Spud are working together the whole way through. If either of us wins, we're splitting the prize money with each other 50/50.
Spud-I'm glad that Rock is being so supportive, because I don't have a very good shot at winning. I've been riding off of him since day one. If I'm going to win this whole thing, i'm going to need to start being more competent.
Laurie-I've come to realize that i'm a horrible person. Ever since the whole fossil incident, I wished bad things upon Dwayne, and look at what happened to his son after the show. I completely jinxed them. Had I not told them that the goddess of karma will get them, Junior never would have gotten hurt. Do I really deserve to win after what I just caused?
Miles-Laurie had been blaming herself for Junior's accident. When we went to visit him in the hospital, Laurie began throwing a tantrum. Yeah I'm trying to win the million bucks, but I'm also trying to convince Laurie that she's not a bad person.
(Confessional end)
The camera then cuts to Don standing in front of all of the contestants. He then spoke to the audience. One of these contestants will make their mark, as the first one to win a challenge this season. That will set the bar for the rest of the competition. But who will it be? And what will be the challenge? Find out next time on...the race around the states.
Authors note: I really want there to be a season 2 of Ridiculous race. I genuinely believe that this spin off, was the best thing to happen to the total drama franchise.
To those of you who are wondering why i'm having a NASCAR related total drama season. 1. I freaking love NASCAR. your favorite contestant gets eliminated, they can still compete for the rest of the competition. Now I won't get angry reviews about removing someone's favorite character.
Some of you might be thinking, out of all the formats I could have gone with, why did I choose the 12 man chase grid from 2011-2013? I was originally going to have the modern day 16 competitor playoff bracket as that's my favorite format, but we all know the popularity of it. I also didn't want to make it whoever had the most points at the end of the season, as I wanted this to be a battle during the final stretch. Ultimately I went with the format that would still be used today, had Spingate never happened.
If you have an idea for a future challenge in an upcoming state, and for what the winner of a challenge should get, do not hesitate to tell me in a review.
P.S If you couldn't tell already, Everybody has feelings, is canon to still story.
Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
