Rain began to pour down on him as he remember many things like when they first met, breaking the jewel, fighting Sesshoumaru...

The way I felt for so long
Yet, he remember the times he had betrayed her or saw her as Kikyo. Once he almost kissed her, seeing the resemblance of Kikyo in her eyes, but he now knew the difference. She was Kagome, from the future. 'She's from 500 years father up the road than I am.' he thought to himself. '... but she does always come back to me.'

But I just don't seem to care
He looked up at the dreary sky, feeling the rain fall upon his face. In the sky, he saw Kagome's face. Next to her was Kikyo. She was truely dead. She hated him. She joined forces with Naraku. Kagome was alive. She was there for him, even if she wasn't by his side.

He closed his eyes, wondering how he would get himself out of this one. He heard the sound of a distant footstep. It was coming closer to him as the rain poured slightly harder. He peered down the tree to see Kagome, soaking wet. It wasn't that long ago that he was pinned to a tree and she came to him. She still was there, not only physically, but mentally. She was always on his mind.
The first time I caught a glimpse of you
Then all my thoughts were only of you
"Kagome, what are you doing down there? Are you trying to catch cold?" he asked her. "No, I was looking for you." He jumped down from the tree. She walked closer to him. He was almost completely dry and she was soaking wet and shivering. He took out this outer jacket and wrapped it around her.

Kagome gladly took it from him as he draped it over her shoulders from behind her, slowly wrapping his arms around her. She liked the feeling of his touch. She arched her back backwards so it connected with his chest. He pulled her back, his arms securely around her arms, that were folded my her stomach, and waist. "What were you doing out here? Sleeping?" she asked him. He simply shook his head. "I'm sorry, Kagome. I didn't want to make you cry."
Many nights awake I lie
I only wish that you could see
"It's okay, Inuyasha." she said as she unfolded one arm, setting her hand on his. "Inuyasha, you have been here protecting me for a long long time. I know you don't want me to get hurt." she said. Inuyasha smiled. "Are we friends again?"
I know that we're only friends (cough cough for now) Not in song
I hope this feeling never ends
Kagome nodded. "Friends." she said. He squeezed her hand as he twirled her around and kiss her softly on the lips. Kagome kissed him back. Inuyasha smiled as he pulled away. "I wanted to do that for a long time." he admitted. Kagome smiled. "Me too." Inuyasha simply held her close to him, until the rain died down.
