Marcus's mother stirred thestew, thinking silently.
"Mom!!" Marcus yelled, coming in and carelessly slamming the door behind him. He dumped his Mutant Ninja Turtles backpack on the ground and ran into the kitchen.
"MARCUS!" the woman shrieked, her eyes bulging. "Sit your ass down and do not scream in this house!" she yelled again.
Marcus's eyes widened. "Momma, what's wrong?" he whispered, but his mother turned around and slapped him. "Hush up and eat." she said, serving him some stew.
"Momma, it's too hot...." Marcus whispered, softer than before. "I SAID EAT IT! THAT'S GOOD FOOD, DAMMIT!" his mother yelled, and dumped the whole bowl on his head, and then threw the bowl at the wall.
Marcus howled in pain and collapsed onto the floor, his eyes burning and tearing with the scalding stew. He screamed and sobbed, shaking madly on the floor. His mother walked out and slammed the door behind her, leaving Marcus with his pain.
He sobbed heavily for a while, finally falling asleep with broth running down his face, mixed with tears. "Oh, lord jesus...." a woman whispered, her eyes widening as she saw Marcus. "BELLA!" she yelled, waving a woman over wildly. "It's Susan's child, he's hurt. Ohhh, now I know why she ran off like that, the little chicken shit!" she said angrily, brushing the boy's hair out of his face.
