A cold autumn day inside the emissary household was a purposeful memory - possibly the only memory - that this young Primid will ever have.
During her stay here in this godforsaken place, she made the most of it by cuddling and playing with her stuffed Eevee plushie.
Ponny, the small Primid, giggled silently as she gently rubbed the fluffy, chestnut colored fur of her plushie, which she named Mrs. Snugglefuss.
However as she played happily about in her little bedroom, she overheard angry voices. With close listening, this wasn't just ordinary angry voices - they were the echoey, spooky tones of Tabuu.
What followed close behind him was the worried undertone of Galeem and Dharkon, who were turned into mortal beings after the events of World of Light.
Dharkon was an adolescent-looking demon sporting a deep black leather jacket, charcoal boots, and dark red skin. His long demon tail shifted back and forth.
Galeem treaded after him, and he took the form of a white sheep-like angel wearing some robes around his woolly body.
Ponny, being the curious Primid she is, decided to walk a few lengths towards her bedroom door to listen to their conversation.
"No! I will not! I cannot!!" Tabuu hissed, his rainbow-colored wings fluttering viciously across the living room.
"These Primids were made for war, not for pleasant living! The whole point of the subspace emissary is to rise against Smash Kingdom and crush those who oppose us!!"
"That was life before!" Dharkon cut in, his voice as deep as the abyss. "That was in the past! This is what's happening now. When will you get past your petty grudge against the fighters for your defeat!?"
The celestial blue organism scoffed at the demon's remark as he continued to ignore any rebuttal given to him.
Ponny hugged her Eevee plushie tightly, hoping that whatever he was going to say wouldn't be any painful.
The Primid stroked her plushie's ears softly as she continued to listen in on the conversation.
Ponny knew she was different from the other Primids of the subspace emissary - she had a "disorder" that prevented her from even functioning normally, as well as disabling her ability to speak.
If anything, Ponny was the only Primid who had a heart, mind, and soul.
Because of this, she was always shunned and alone. Everyday life was a challenge until she met Dharkon and Galeem, two heavenly spirits from the World of Light who actually paid any attention to her.
Tabuu constantly yelled at the two for engaging in Ponny's attention, mostly because she was not meant to be known amongst her peers and the entirety of the subspace emissary.
As she stood close to listen to this aggressive argument, the next thing that was said shocked her.
"I only asked for one thing!" Tabuu barked. "One thing!!"
"...What would that be?" Galeem finally asked, having spoke for the first time during this whole fight.
Tabuu nervously rubbed his hands against the buttons on his suede suit, trying to keep his emotions together.
"I want... a normal Primid..."
Ponny hugged Mrs. Snugglefuss tightly, trying to process how much of those awful words she had just heard through the door - "normal" and "Primid."
She had always known this would be true. Tabuu really hated her because of how different she was from the rest of them, simply over her individual character.
All those times she refused to speak when directly spoken to, the breakdowns she had, the feelings she would show... it was too much for an evil overlord to muster.
the Primid stared directly at the window that occupied the left side of her small bedroom and hobbled over to it, her Eevee plushie still in her arms.
She looked outside to witness the crisp fall season - the trees swayed peacefully as the wind blew through its changing leaves, causing them to let loose.
She even noticed a small family out on a walk. A mother and a father were holding their son's hands, happily skipping about.
Small drops of tears ran down her black cheeks as she saw all of this happening before her. She wanted a different life away from the emissary, where people showed true affections towards her.
Just then, Galeem entered her bedroom with a broken smile.
Ponny turned her head around to see him, and she let out a bright squeak. The only good things to come out of this crummy lifestyle was that she got to see one of her two favorite people in the whole wide world.
The celestial Sheep trotted over to the Primid, his golden hooves clattering against the wooden floor as he did so. Stopping at her bedside, he chuckled a bit and knelt down before her.
"Ponny, it's time for bed," he spoke, his voice as calm as always. "Since Dharkon is... not feeling well, I'll be taking over for him."
Galeem got out a small woodpecker onesie from Ponny's closet and assisted in putting it on her.
As he did so, he commented on how well she behaved for him to make bedtime easier. "Excellent!" He chirped, tucking the Primid in and handing her Mrs. snugglefuss.
"Can't forget your little Eevee pal now, can we, sweetie?"
Ponny emoted a soft smile and flailed her legs around under the blankets. The sheep landed a gentle kiss on her forehead, turned off the lights, and walked out of the room.
Meanwhile, the Primid shifted onto her side and hugged her Eevee plushie even more.
Does Tabuu want me gone? she thought, more tears coming from her.
Why does he hate me!? What have I ever done to deserve such things!?
