Yu was at a loss, she ran through the words she said to a Quirkless boy that had jumped in a rescue attempt on one of his classmates a year ago. 'Jeez, there's a limit to how rash you can be, kid!... There was absolutely no need for you to put yourself in danger like that...Listen, I know you wanted to save your friend, but you have to consider your own well-being... Especially when you're Quirkless. Put yourself in my shoes, in any other situation, I as a pro now have to worry about two lives and a villain who wants to snuff one of them if not both out. If All Might wasn't here, think of what could have happened.' A tinge of guilt was laced in her expression as she stared at the boy on the other end of a TV screen in a break room at the venue of the UA sports festival. The gig of security seemed like a sweet deal for her as she was getting paid, and she would get first dibs on a servant... Hero student that she would be 'mentoring' over the next two weeks. As a relatively new hero, she had a low expectation from the council and was limited to one student. A decision that seemed to be made for her as her eyes never left a mope of dark green.

"Our break is over, Mount. We have to start heading over to our post." A masculine voice came from behind.

Getting up from the table she had procured for herself with her breakfast she stretched and looked at the person who was currently ruining her mood. "Come now, Kamui. We don't have to rush, do we? There is still time, the race is not over yet."

Just as she finished, an announcement of the first event came over the screen. "Right now, the first person back to the stadium is... Izuku Midoriya!" Yu's eyes widened as she looked back at the screen, a small sigh escaped as she saw the green-haired student doubled over panting, before recovering slightly and bowing to the crowd as they cheered the boy on. All of 1A had placed in the top fifty with the class dominating the top 10 with classes A and B nearly sweeping the top twenty.

Kamui Woods noticed the leaderboard had two names popped out at him. 1st place Izuku Midoriya and 3rd place Katsuki Bakugou. He had recognized the pair as Katsuki moved to Izuku beginning a tirade of abuse. "Interesting, aren't those the boys from that slime incident?"

"Apparently..."

"Didn't the green-headed one say that he was Quirkless?"

"It is quite clear he is not..." Yu's annoyance is clear to anyone listening. "Come on Kamui, the five-minute walk you were so eager to take awaits." The intended sting in those words was felt much to Yu's satisfaction. Yu taking one last look at the screen, she smiled at the points given to first place. 'Ten mill, isn't that overkill, poor boy looks like a kicked puppy.' Which was the final thought as she left the room.

As if with a jolt Izuku shot up awake. Now sitting in a familiar bed he quickly examines his surroundings realizing the room he is in.

'Dammit.' he thought to himself. Using the time he had alone to check on his now formerly dislocated right shoulder and broken fingers now with a scar where his pec and shoulder meet. He came to the realization that he knew where he was, the school's infirmary. He has had multiple visits several times before.

The sound of rushed footsteps on the floor rang out. Before he could react he would be overcome by a tight embrace. It didn't take long to identify the signature ponytail with a slight alteration of his classmate and friend. With the hug obscuring her most notable features he took a wild stab in the dark.

"Hey Momo, is the ribbon new?" He says trying to keep a cheerful tone. "It looks good." Pointing out the new battle-damaged hair accessory.

"Idiot." She whispers in a pained voice tightening her hug.

"S-s-so," stuttering, Izuku started not really knowing how to handle the situation.' From what I remember I must have collapsed right after my match with Todoroki.' He Thought trying to remember the events that lead up to his now mostly healed injuries.

"So?" Momo asked.

"What happened after my match with Todoroki?" He stopped himself as she let go with a face that wore both worry and concern. "I need you to fill in the blanks, please." He powered through.

It was times like this when she cursed how close they have become to each other. 'How am I supposed to say this? I can't lie he would know,' she thought to herself. 'Breathe you can do this. He's fine.' Continuing her thought while letting out a panicked sigh. The boy in front of her collapsed and was horribly injured in his fight with their classmate, In fact, the injuries were the worst of the day. She moved to a chair placed near the occupied bed neatly placing her hands on her lap.

The girl slowly recited the events that occurred in the hours he was out. Apparently, when he was unconscious Izuku was moved to the infirmary, and after his safety and wellbeing were confirmed it was decided that the losers of the sports festival's semi-finals Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu were to face each other to replace Izuku in the finals against in her own words "Baku-bin" earning a short burst of laughter from the boy in front of her. Momo paused for a second before continuing to look down, the last part was of that match. According to her, she lost by forfeit when Shoto trapped her in his ice, and after escaping having planned for the trap, she wasn't able to continue due to the overuse of her Quirk.

"That's amazing." He praised Momo after hearing about the bout.

"Huh?" Momo Responded confused.

"Well in my fight, if I hadn't promised you to not get hurt badly and find a way to control my quirk I would not be able to get as far as to get the win." That being said, Izuku moved to sit at the edge of the bed facing Momo and continued. "It sounded like you had a plan when you fought Todoroki, and if it wasn't for you not being 100% you would have probably won. Compared to my half-baked effort and unmastered quirk, I would have lost and taken months to get a handle on my quirk, so I should be thanking you."

The girl simply shook her head with a sad smile. "You shouldn't be thanking me. You did what you did on your own merit. Meanwhile, I find myself looking to you for guidance." Pausing for a few seconds. "Everything I've done so far was all inspired by you and what I thought you would have done. And today you offered me words of encouragement and were there for me at my lowest. I should be the one thanking you."

Izuku thought for a moment as several things ran through his head. "How about this? Wait, did someone get my things?" He asked.

"Yes, why?" The girl wondered.

"Well can you grab my bag? I want to do a little exchange." He said with a large smile.

Momo got up and moved across the room to where both their school bags were laid. She was confused about what he meant and why he needed his belongings. After retrieving what Izuku asked for he quickly went through it pulling out an LED version of his hero costume, half face mask, a cord, and a smartphone. "I know she said it was just a prototype but this should do." Izuku said, connecting the mask to his phone. Opening up an app he tapped on the screen within moments the LED display flashed and a message scrolled across and read 'Welcome Yaoyorozu-san' before disappearing and being replaced with a rabbit's mouth." I know that when we were looking through my hero notes you liked the name Usagi and it really doesn't fit me and I wanted to show my gratitude and..." He was stopped by another embrace.

" I love it." She said while letting him go. She grabbed the mask while letting it hang from her neck with its strap." I guess I have to come up with something in return." The statement came out before the boy in front of her could protest. Momo cupped her chin in one hand as she was focused on her thoughts. A gentle smile graced her face accompanied by a small blush. She brought her hands together and a light shone as her quirk went to work. When her hands separated now with a necklace in each hand and a ring being the only ornament for both. " I-I-It's not what you t-think. It's a promise." She stutters out while forcing one into his hand with ever reddening cheeks.

After months of hanging out with the person in front of him. The pillar of support for each other. Izuku just smiled and placed it around his neck. 'We better aim for the top then.'

"Do you have time to talk?"

That question was running circles in the boy's mind, a little over a minute ago his potential opponent for the semi-final of the last round of the first year's festival led him to a secluded spot in the stadium. The teen paused and looked at Izuku with a serious expression. "I... I was overpowered, in that split second in the second round I forgot about the pledge I had made." Izuku visibly flinched when the boy in front of him began. "I am sure that neither of our teammates felt it, when you used your Quirk without restraint. It felt the same as the time at the USJ when All Might was fighting that villain at his absolute limit." Izuku froze a cold sweat forming.

"What… What does that suppose to mean?" Izuku asks under a shaky breath.

A long pause that felt like ages for Izuku began. The boy brought his hand upwards staring a hole into his palm. "It means I felt something similar facing you as I did watch All Might fight." Another pause. "Midoriya, are you… a secret love child of All Might or something?"

Izuku blinked several times before tilting his head in confusion. "Uhhh… Excuse me?" The words slipped without thinking, then he thought back to their last confrontation.

"All Might has his eyes on you, doesn't he."

'Oh… that's what he thought for all this time.' Izuku began to think of a way to respond fighting the now laughter bubbling beneath the surface, out of all the possibilities to happen the idea of him being confused as the number 1's son did not occur to him. The line of thinking would explain the similarities in the Quirk use, and If Toshinori was serious about his mother it would make for a valid excuse if he ever tells her about One for All. Not able to hold it in any longer he broke down chuckling at the question, the person who asked now confused at the laughter. "No… No… I am sorry, though you are not far from the truth." Izuku paused to compose himself. "I know that stuff like that is possible and that some families still practice Quirk marriages, so I get that you could come to that conclusion."

"So does that mean…"

"Todoroki, if I was… do you think that I would admit it now, in a public place. You probably get it being who you are." Izuku tried to dance around the question, to mild success.

"So there's a connection between you two that you can not talk about that is in the general ballpark, isn't that right?" Shoto Todoroki questioned.

Normally he would freeze up in fear and try to mumble his way out, but dealing with the constant teasing and bombardment of personal inquiries of their classmates Jiro and Ashido had muted his flighty nature. Ready to stand his ground he replied. "Like I said, you are not far from the truth. What does it matter to you?" One for All flickered to life as the green bolts from the activation of Full Cowl discharged for a split second while the fingers in Izuku's right hand twitched.

Not letting the display unnerve him, Shoto provided his answer. "If you have something from the number one hero then… I have every reason to beat you in the semi-final. I refuse to be saddled with the number two position that my father is stuck in." Shoto spoke with every bit of seriousness that if looks can kill was plastered on Izuku's face.

After a brief moment, Izuku and Shoto went their separate ways after a tense moment and acceptance of a silent challenge. However little did the two know that the pro Mount Lady followed the two of them and remained hidden until now. She walked out from her hiding spot looking in the direction that Izuku left with a single thought on her mind. 'Not far from the truth?… What does that mean…' With a low voice, she asked herself. "Is he really the son of All Might?" As the question remained unanswered she thought back to the day of the slime incident, the worry on All Might's face when he snubbed reporters after the boy was cleared to leave, taking off after Izuku. That made sense, why the boy and All Might jumped in despite the danger, and why he used his Quirk similarly to All Might, though the green lightning was new. Engrossed in her thoughts she did not notice the person behind her until they grabbed her shoulder to get her attention.

"There you are Mount, you wondered off, what's up?"

Before she could answer an announcement came on to the PA system. "It's almost time for our first quarter-final match as the undefeated Izuku Midoriya takes on our legacy speedster Tenya Iida. So get to your seats and prepare yourselves for a 1A bout to remember."

Looking at the person who brought her back to reality she came face to face with a wooden mask, giving her best puppy dog eyes she made a request. "Can you cover for me for the rest of the day?" Pausing for the dramatic effect she offered an excuse. "I am not feeling well."
