Molly Weasley

Molly sighed in exhaustion as she sat down and put her feet up. The first few days after she gave birth to another of her children was always hard on her body. She felt lethargic and tired for weeks after the whole event. Yet she knew that she would go through the whole process in a heartbeat to have another child to raise. She looked down into the crib of her newborn son.

Little Ronald Weasley looked up at the ceiling of the room with bright blue eyes. His tiny hands were opening and closing around the blanket that was wrapped around him. His face looked like he was in awe of what he was seeing. His eyes darted around the room and his breaths that he took in sounded like they were gasps of wonder.

Molly felt a little for her son. He was behaving much differently than all of his brothers before him. Most of them would cry for hours a day without much reason, especially Fred who had cried at the slightest of provocations. But Ronnie didn't cry much at all. Whenever he did cry it was only the barest amounts. If he needed his diaper changed, he cried. If he was hungry, he would cry. But besides those occasions, Ron barely ever cried.

Most of the time he would just be looking around with that wide-eyed expression of curiosity. Molly was beginning to think that she was going to have to bring Ron to a healer in order to see if everything was alright. But she couldn't bring herself to be that worried just from how happy Ron seemed to be. He had to be the most well behaved baby to ever live, in Molly's opinion.

Molly closed her eyes and let the warm thoughts of her newborn drift over her. There was nothing as satisfying to her as watching her young ones grow up. Bill and Charlie were so big already.

Molly's eyes opened again when she heard a gurgling from in front of her. She looked over to see that Ron was gurgling happily. She smiled as she stood up and walked over to him.

"What made you so happy?" She asked the baby. After only a few moments it became clear what was making him so happy.

There were colorful lights appearing above and around Ron. It looked almost like a simple lumos charm, but the colors kept flashing through all of the colors of the rainbow and were moving around Ron's head. Ron's eyes were tracking the lights as he giggled to himself.

Molly felt her heart freeze in her chest. Her eyes grew wide with wonder and awe at her son. Was he doing this? She looked down at his small hands and saw that his fingers were spinning in small circles without much meaning or reason. Molly could feel her heartbeat as she watched her son perform magic that she didn't know if she could do without a wand.

Her son was incredibly powerful. That much was clear to see. Only a few weeks old and he was already able to control his magic in such an incredible way…

Molly started to cry. She didn't know if it was out of happiness, sadness, or just being emotionally overwhelmed. Maybe her hormones were still out of sort from pregnancy. Ron looked at her and his eyes lost that look of wonder and looked concerned.

Molly smiled and picked Ron up. She cradled him in her arms and smiled lovingly down at him. He looked up at her with the same curious eyes that she was getting used to seeing on his face. He reached up with one of his hands.

Molly gasped as those same colorful lights started to come from his fingers once more. The red and purples started to go up around her head in a halo. The greens and blue floated around his arm and the yellows floated all throughout the room.

Molly could only feel love for the boy in her arms.
