Summary: Can a girl get any luckier? [one shot]

"Mary?" I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"Yes, Harry?" I asked as I turned around.

"Would you take a walk with me?" Harry looked like he was afraid I would say no. As if I would be that silly!

I looked up into his beautiful green eyes and nearly felt myself swoon. Here was Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, looking up at me (me!) with such adoration in those green orbs. I knew my life would never be the same.

As we walked from the school to the lake, I suppressed quite a few giggles. I was walking with the boy of my dreams! Mary Sue Smith was walking with a star! Who would have ever guessed? Not me.

I knew I was pretty. I had long cornsilk blonde hair, large cornflower blue eyes, pouty lips, and an oval shaped face. I also had a cleft in my chin, was five feet and ten inches, and looked like a Muggle runway model. I was never out of the most fashionable robes or looks. I was the prettiest girl in school. The smartest as well, even more than less pretty as me Hermione Granger. I got high marks in everything I did, nothing less would do.

Stopping by the water, he turned to face me. "Mary. I think you're... super. You're smart (see, told you!), beautiful (no news there), kind (to everyone except Granger), talented and strong (well, duh), and just all around super. I would wondering if youwouldbemygirlfriend?" He rushed out the last part.

"I'm sorry but could you repeat that last part?" I could hardly contain my glee. The famous Harry Potter (points for me in my little book of successes for that one!) wanted me to be his girlfriend.

"I said, would you be my girlfried?" He looked positively terrified I would turn him down.

"Let me think about it." I was ready to jump into his arms but I kept my cool.

"Oh. Okay." Looking completely dejected, he looked back at the water.

"I've thought about it..." I trailed off until he turned to face me. "My answer is yes!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. Dipping his head down to my level, he took his free hand and framed my face. Then, almost like slow motion, he lowered his lips to mine and we shared our first kiss. I felt those fireworks my mom always talked about feeling when you're with the right person, I could have sworn I heard the birds singing, and I felt like I was floating on air.

I couldn't wait to tell the world that I was Harry Potter's girlfriend. Mary Sue Smith, the Boy Who Lived 's girlfriend.

Author's Note:
This piece was written because I was tired of reading how OC characters were Mary Sues. I've read Mary Sues and a lot of the OCs in this fandom are not. It's silly to assume that just because they're original that they must be based on the person. No one knows except the author. Speaking of which, if I'm not mistaken, JKR has said that Hermione was based on herself and Ron was based on her best friend. Now that's Mary Sueing but it's okay for her because she's made millions? I don't think so. All work is Mary Sued to an extent because we all study human nature, especially those closest to us. So if the work isn't completely full of crap like the above? It's really not a bad Mary Sue. There is no reason to flame someone just because you can. Why hurt someone just to do it? If you can't be useful in your critiques, then just click the "X" at the top of your screen and move on. I've done it before and it's a lot more beneficial than just being harsh for the sake of it.

Flame this if you want. I wrote it to be extremely bad, cheesy, and every Mary Sue item I knew that people complained about.
