Cavemen versus Astronauts

They bickered, they fought
They yelled a lot
They shouted and screamed
Made a terrible din
The argument: cavemen versus astronauts
Who would win?

Cavemen win
Cavemen always win
Lying there, becoming hollow
A lump in her throat that she can't swallow
"What have I done?" she wonders, "Lord, have I sinned?
I should have known that cavemen win."
Cavemen survive
If she were still a caveman, she would come out alive
But astronauts don't win, astronauts die
She thought she could win this way, she believed a lie

What happened to that girl who lived in a cave
In a place where she was but a slave?
What happened to her strength? What happened to her will?
By some parasite demon she was going to be killed
She wasn't just some damsel in distress
But still, as an astronaut, she'd become less
Than what she was before
What she was at the core
But the core's too deep within
She's an astronaut in this skin
And astronaut's don't win
