It was nearing Christmas, and the air was crisp and cold. The calendar revealed the hoilday was only 3 days away. The Christmas break everyone was excited for would be in just one. Tonight was the last night at Hogwarts, so naturally, everyone was awake and hanging out. In the Gryffindor comon room, everyone was enjoying themselves, except for a lonely teenage boy sitting by the window. He watched his three friends play a game. He was invited to play too, but he politely declined. He was a bit tired and worn out from two nights ago...the last full moon.
Remus Lupin heaved a sigh, and turned to the frosted window, looking out over the lake. A million thoughts ran through his head, but just one stuck out amoung them. The thing that he kept pushing to the back of his mind, always seemed to take total control of his thoughts. Remus had a decision to make, and he didn't have long to make it. He just needed time to think. But it seemed that thinking just made everything more difficult. He sighed once more. What was it that his mother had always told him? Oh yeah, 'always go with your first instinct, your gut feeling is almost always right...98% of the time'. But what about the other 2%? He wanted to be 100% sure that he was making the right decision.
But the thing that really got him, was the fact that he was 100% sure of his feelings. It felt so right to him, it just HAD to be fate! Whenever Sirius Black was near him, he felt this urge of need and want. But not like lust, it was a feeling of possession. Being a werewolf, he knew that this was a quality of one...to be overly protective of their mate. He had read that werewolves mate for life, with only one partner. He knew that Sirius belonged to him...now if only Sirius knew that...
And that was the decision he needed to make...to tell Sirius or not. And if so, how?
(A/N- This is only the beginning to a short little fic. But I hoped you all like the very first coughshortcough chapter of this story! Please review! It will encourage me to write more!)
