Katie began to panic; whoever had their hand over her mouth was taking her somewhere. She couldn't see much in the dim light, but she knew she was being made to walk on board a ship. Katie had tried protesting against walking for the person, but they had solved the problem by putting a pistol to the small of her back. Katie was pushed in to a large cabin that stank of rum, sweat and something she couldn't place. The cabin was lit enough to make her see things clearly, her eyes wandered down to the hand over her mouth, it was large, tanned and very rough. A voice interrupted her thoughts
"Luv, if I'm going to take my hand away your not to scream, savvy."
** I'm not to scream hello buddy you've just kidnapped me of course I WANT to scream. But then again he hasn't hurt me yet so maybe if I do as I'm told... **
Katie nodded, and slowly the hand was taken from her mouth. Katie stood routed to the spot, scared if she moved she might be hurt. The man that had just kidnapped her, walk around so he was in front of her. Katie studied him, he was a pirate she could tell for sure, but he wasn't quite what she had expected. He had beads and a trinkets entwined in his hair witch was quit long; he also had a faded red bandana, and what looked like a bone sticking out from his hair. His face was well wow. To Katie the 1st thing she noticed was his eyes. Big round chocolate eyes outlined with black kohl.
"What do you? What do you want with me?" Katie decided that she had to ask, as it didn't look like he was going to talk anytime soon.
"You are the governors daughter right?" ** great me being kidnapped is all down to me being the daughter of the governor. I knew I hated being his kid. **
"Ye. Yes." Katie started to fiddle with her fingers something she always doses when she's nervous.
"Ahh. God good. Hey don't look so scared we aint gonna hurt you, I'm just down on swag at the moment, need some rum money. Cant live without the rum." He got side tracked by talking about rum, it was if she wasn't here and he was talking to himself, suddenly he seemed to realise she was there and introduce himself.
"Names Captain Jack Sparrow, Luv, yours would be?" ** ok if he wanted to kidnap me wouldn't he already know my name? And why did he just tell me his. Like I want to no. ** Although Katie didn't really want to tell him, she was still scared if she didn't do as he said she would be hurt... although he had already promised no harm would come to her.
"Katie" She deliberately left her last name out scared he'd laugh at her, like so many of her friends had done. She also hoped that if he did need her last name - which he did, as he had to send a letter for the ransom- he would already no it from her fathers 'reputation.'
"Katie?? You have a last name Luv?" ** oh great he doesn't no my last name, which means I have to tell him and he will no doubt laugh at me, because he is a pirate. **
"Prune" Katie said her last name quietly, so quietly Jack strained himself to hear.
"Hum" He looked very thoughtful "interesting name. Now do you wish to be called Miss Prune" Jack looked at her face as he said her 'formal' name and took it as a no. He laughed a little "ahh I see that isn't the case. Katie then?"
"Katie will be fine."
"Great. Now ill just get on with this letter, send it to your farther, and set sail with you. You will be with us for a week. During that time you will sleep in Ana Maria's cabin, as I don't think you want to be down with the crew or in here with me. You will do some small amounts of work... maybe a little cooking?" Jack looked back round at Katie when he said this; she had to stop herself laughing at his hopeful face. "And then we will return to this lovely little port, collect the ransom and leave you to do whatever it is you people do." He looked at Katie obviously waiting for her reply, but none came. Jack turned around and carried on writing the letter, as he finished he shouted for a man called Gibbs to come.
"Gibbs, will you please do the honour of dropping this off at the Governor's house, come back quickly so we can be on our way." Gibbs looked at the letter that had been placed in his hands then at Katie. He turned to leave muttering something about women being bad luck when Jack stopped him
"Gibbs before you leave fetch Ana Maria for me will ye?"
"Aye Captain." As Gibbs left Jack looked at Katie and smiled,
"Well Katie, welcome on board the black pearl. Ready for a little... Adventure?" As he said the word Adventure Katie's whole face lit up. This was what she had been dreaming about, and she was about to get it, without bringing shame upon her family. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad...
