Draco's Reasons Why Ginny Can't Date Harry

By: Nymbis

AN: This is a Dinny for those of you who didn't figure that out with the title, but I suppose it could also be a Garry. I know it's been a while since I've done a story like this (Harry's Reasons why Hermione Can't Date Krum was my first story of FF.net, so that was posted like last July, and Pietro's Reasons why Rogue Can't Date Remy was my second story, so ya, its been almost a year. Oy. I'm getting old.) So I'm hoping I can still pull it off =) If it does go over nicely, I'll be sure to write more. As I like One- Shots, for I don't feel pressured to Update all the time. So, I hope you all like it. Lol and for once, I decided (Against my better intentions) of not having Harry on the receiving end.

Ginny was bouncing merrily down the halls at Hogwarts. Harry Potter had asked her out! The Harry Potter! She was too excited for words. However, a certain grim-faced Slytherin was not as happy as she.

Draco approached Ginny in the hall, "What's this I hear about Potter?" He asked his red-headed crush.

"I'm going with him to Hogsmeade this afternoon!" She exclaimed.

Draco snorted, "Why?"

Ginny's happiness simmered, "Well, why not?"

Draco laughed in his very aristocratic way. "First of all, let's go with the obvious, what is up with his hair?"

Ginny snickered, "At least he doesn't imitate Billy Idol."

"Who?" Asked Draco, confused.

Ginny groaned, "Nevermind. Is that all you got Malfoy?"

"He's got this superiority complex, he thinks rules are beneath him," Said Draco.

"Says the boy whose father bribes the bejeezus out of the teachers."

"He lacks a certain sense of style," Countered Draco.

Ginny rolled her eyes, "At least he doesn't manicure his nails."

Draco, hearing this, immediately put his hands in his pockets, "He's turning into an angst-full teen!"

"Still better than conjuring up the Dark Arts."

"I think he has a crush on Hermione!"

Ginny sighed, "Who doesn't nowadays? Last I heard, Snape had a crush on Hermione."

Draco's pale face was beginning to flush pink, "He's a year older than you!"

"Uh, Draco." Ginny said, "You are too."

Draco's face dawned with realization for a moment, but then he continued, "Well, he's a push-over."

"You whined for weeks about a scratch from Buckbeak."

"It hurt!" he protested.

"Whatever." Ginny said, rolling her eyes once again.

"He's a parseltongue!"

"You're in Slytherin," Defended Ginny.

"He's ugly!"

"At least he doesn't look like a ferret."

Draco narrowed his eyes at the last comment, "Well, everyone hero-worships him all the time!"

"Perhaps you've never met Crabbe and Goyle?"

"Gah!" He yelled, throwing his arms up in the air in frustration, "I hate you!" he said, turning around and heading down the hall.

"The feeling's mutual!" Called Ginny after him.

It was then, that Harry chose to come up, he awkwardly put his arm around Ginny's waist, "What was that about?" he asked.

Ginny smirked, "Just Malfoy being Malfoy.

With that, the two of them made their way down to Hogsmeade, and Draco kept telling anyone who would listen that he did not look like a ferret.
