Jack opened the door that locked Katie in the cell. He moved towards her, unsure whether she was awake or not. He got his answer when she tried to move away from him, when he got near.



"Katie I wont hurt you. I promise." He tried to get near her, but she whimpered and shuffled back into the wall that Jack took a step back. Jack sighed, he had no idea how he was going to get her off this ship as he didn't want to force her to move as she was already extremely frightened and doing that wouldn't help her, but he just couldn't leave her down in the brig, as that's where he was going to put the crew.



"Kate, I wont hurt you, just come with me. No harm will come to you again. No one will touch you." Jack held out his hand towards her, but once again she shuffled back. In the dim light of the brig Jack could see tears glistening on her cheeks. Jack sighed again and began to think of another way to get her off.



"Leave her alone. She doesn't want to go any where." Jack spun around looking for the person that had just spoken. Squinting at the cell next to Katie's he saw a tiny figure slumped in the corner.



"Who are ye?"



"Just leave her alone. She's had enough. Don't hurt her anymore." Moving around so that he was inside the other persons cabin Jack walked towards the figure.



"I'm not going to hurt her. I'm here so that I can take her away from this ship and let her go back home. Only she wont comes." Jack spoke softly to the figure. As he drew closer he noticed it was a boy, probably the cabin boy, and he too was in a bad way.



"Oh. She still won't go with you though. She's too scared of... anyone. Even me now." The boy looked down, and Jack could tell that hurt him.



"What's yer name lad?"



"Drew."



"Did ye try t' 'elp 'er? That why yer down 'ere?" He nodded. "Can ye help me talk 'er round, get her to come with me back t' the pearl where she'll be safe." The boy frowned.



"Pearl?" Jack grinned.



"Aye, me ship the Black Pearl. Will ye help? I'll take ye with me two. Could do with a new cabin boy." Jack bent down to assess the child's injures.



"Yes, but I cant walk. And... she won't go. Not if they're all up there." Jack thought about it for a moment. Without another word he picked Drew up and carried him into Katie's cell. She shuffled backwards a bit but not as much as she would have before, as she had heard their conversation.



"Right Katie, Drew have a little chat. I'm, goin' t' sort out the crew that are on deck into a cabin, with some of my crew guarding them, then I'm goin' t' get the rest of me crew to go down somewhere else so their out of sight. I'm then goin' t' ask Ana Maria t' come down and help me get the two of you up and ont' the black pearl where I'll sort ye both out and be on our merrier little way. Savvy?" Katie continued to stare at Jack, looking right through him, but Drew nodded enthusiastically.



"Right." Jack took a deep breath and walked back onto deck where his crew had tied the other crew together.



It took nearly n hour and a half to get the ships crew into Captains quarters. Gibbs and cotton stood outside the door and a few where inside making sure they all behaved themselves. Jack told the rest of his crew to get back onto The Black Pearl, but to stay out of sight until told otherwise. As the crew started to go back to there ship Jack took Ana Maria aside.



"Ana, I need yer help. There's a lad with Katie, only 'bout 7, he cant walk, but we're taking him with us. A'int right t' leave him here when he tried t' help 'er. Katie wont go near me, well she wouldn't I'm not sure if that's changed yet but... anyway come help me bring them both over please." Ana nodded and followed Jack down to the brig, coughing as soon as she got in there.



She stood for a moment and let her eyes adjust to the darkness, which surrounded the brig. She walked behind Jack as he moved towards the cell that held both prisoners. Ana's hand flew to her mouth as she spotted Katie, her eyes wondered the poor girls body noticing cuts. She was sure that the state of her would be much worse once they were outside, but right now, that was all she could handle.



Ana noticed the young boy who was sitting next to her. Her heart bled for the small creature as he looked very much in pain, some of him cuts still seeping through his shirt.



Jack walked over to both of them. He noticed that Katie was no longer conscious, unsure whether she had passed out or was asleep, he looked at Drew. The young boy whispered that she was asleep, his voice more hoarse the before. Jack nodded over to Ana Maria to come closer.



"Ana can you carry Drew, and I'll take Katie. When we get back onto the ship take him to Gibbs's cabin and he'll look after him, and treat him. I'll take her to my cabin, mainly because it has a lock on the door, if I ever leave her. Make her feel safer. Savvy?"



"Aye captain." Ana picked the boy up as gently as she could, trying hard not to hurt him anymore then he already was. She found she had to walk slowly over to the ship, trying to be as steady as she could.



Jack waited till Ana Maria was out of the brig before gently picking Katie up in his arms. Careful not to wake her he began to walk out of the brig, stopping every now and then when she stirred.



As he reached his cabin, he realized the flaw in his plan. He didn't know how he was going to get his door open, as there was no one around to open the door for him. Turning at the sound of footsteps, he smiled as Ana Maria appeared. Opening the door for him, she walked inside behind him.



As Jack placed Katie on his bed, he turned to see what it was that Ana Maria wanted only to see her staring at the girl. Following her gaze, he noticed a blood seeping through the thin dress she wore. Looking down at his hand he saw it was covered in.



After a few seconds both pirates had rushed to the girls side, tearing off the cloth that was in their way of seeing what was wrong. When they did see it however, both of them took a step back in shock...
